Weird animation and colorful approach that works well

Watched at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

I don't think I have ever seen something like this before. Blending both serious topics, yet, mashing with absurd colorful animations, presentations and style is something that is quite unique, and Endless Cookie succeeds with it.

It's absurd animation nature is weird. But it's also touching as the documentary explores the common grounds of people in the Indigenous community. How beauty is worked, culture being displayed, and some of the struggles of having to be Indigenous and the brutal reality surrounding them.

Many of the discussions are interesting, including some strange sound designs. All of the animation is wonky, colorful, weird and designed perfectly absurd, that it makes it a more funny and emotional journey. While some of the sound designs is a bit off-putting, especially with some of the pacing being a bit off midway. One thing is for sure, there is no documentary like this done before.
