Lo sapevi?
- QuizPit, a newcomer in the sequel Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008) for the Nintendo Wii, was originally supposed to be an unlockable character in "Super Smash Bros.", but due to the sudden yet enormous popularity of Pokemon, he was replaced by Jigglypuff.
- BlooperNess refers to his magic attacks as "PK" attacks. This is supposed to be "PSI." (The Earthbound games use the term PSI to refer to magic, though an early beta version of the game used PK, and this is probably what caused the error.)

- Curiosità sui creditiDuring the credits, the credits can be clicked on with the controller, telling what that person does or did in the making of this game. After the credits, the game displays a picture of your character in their environment or cute pictures such as Luigi holding a flag that reads "#1".
- Versioni alternativeMany changes were made for the Western version. For instance, the attack sounds were replaced by new ones. The How to Play tutorial is different in the Western version. Luigi's Super Jump Punch and Purin's Rest (if timed correctly) make a "PING!" sound, rather than a "punch" as in the Japanese version. A "Congratulations!" picture is shown if one clears 1P Game in the Western version. Purin's name was changed to Jigglypuff. Also, the Beam Sword had different sound effects in the Western version.

Recensione in evidenza
This was one of the most unique fighter games of it's time back in the late 90's. When Nintendo 64 was still a dominate console of the fifth generation gaming era.
What got me in buying this game was the fact that you can play as 8 Nintendo copyrighted characters. Mario, Donkey Kong, Samus, Link, Yoshi, Fox McCloud, Pikachu, & Kirby. As well as 4 unlock-able characters making it 12 to chose from.
Unlike the common fighter games. In Super Smash Bros. you get to use unique items to fight and almost all the fighting arenas are based off of a familiar Nintendo game. Choose either Adventure Mode, VS. Mode, or Training Mode to play in. Actual dialog from the talking characters. Not to mention a few surprises happening during the levels. Each fighter you choose has his or her own unique ability.
There are only a few things available to unlock in the game. But besides the graphics being 64 bit making the background and characters polygon-like. And some of the background character being paper thin. This game is still a classic straight from the N64 days. And has changed the face of multi fighter games for good.
Plus this was Samus' only N64 appearance making it a must have for the Metroid fans.
