The Muppets Mayhem is having their big break cut short. Per Deadline, Disney+ has cancelled the musical comedy series after one season of ten episodes. Based on Jim Henson's characters, Adam F. Goldberg co-created the series with Bill Barretta and Jeff Yorkes.

Starring Lilly Singh, Tahj Mowry, and Saara Chaudry, the series follows Electric Mayhem as they work on their first album. The band was brought to life by Barretta, Eric Jacobson, Matt Vogel, David Rudman, Dave Goelz, and Peter Linz.

The streamer has canceled the music-infused comedy, which centered on members of the Muppets house band, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. The show lasted just one season; all 10 episodes debuted in May.

As is usually the case with streaming series, Disney did not disclose any viewing information for The Muppets Mayhem. The series has not charted on Nielsen’s top 10 streaming rankings.

The ten-part series was released in May but Disney+ never disclosed any ratings for the show.

The cancellation marks a blow for plans for a wider Muppetverse; Goldberg previously expressed interest in branching out using the classic IP, which includes some of Disney’s most recognizable characters.

It is the latest cancelation at Disney+ this year; other shows to have been axed include The Spiderwick Chronicles, which has since been shopped to Roku, National Treasure, Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., Willow, Big Shot and Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

This new series sees The Electric Mayhem on an epic musical journey to finally record their first studio album. With the help of driven young music executive Nora (Lily Singh), the old-school Muppet band comes face to face with the current day music scene as they try to finally go platinum.

The show is the brain spawn of Adam F. Goldberg, best known for creating US sitcom The Goldbergs based on his youth, Muppet veteran performer/writer Bill Barretta and actor/writer Jeff Yorkes.

Disney+ will revisit the Muppets franchise next month.

The streaming service announced today that the highly anticipated original series The Muppets Mayhem is set to premiere on Wednesday, May 10.

Instead of the weekly release adopted by other series on Disney+, The Muppets Mayhem will launch with all episodes on the date.

The Muppeys Mayhem follows The Electric Mayhem Band — Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone and Lips on trumpet — on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first-ever studio album.

“The Muppets Mayhem,” the latest series based on the beloved characters created by Jim Henson, will premiere all episodes on Disney+ on Wednesday, May 10, Disney announced on Tuesday.

It focuses on The Electric Mayhem Band, led by Dr. Teeth and manic drummer animal, as they try to record their first-ever studio album with the help of a driven young music executive, Nora Singh (Lilly Singh).

Adam F. Goldberg of “The Goldbergs” developed, wrote and executive produces with Bill Barretta of “The Muppets” and “Muppets Haunted Mansion,” and co-executive producer Jeff Yorkes. Watch the first teaser trailer below.
