Leona Paraminski is a Croatian actress known for her work in film, theater, and television. She has appeared as a leading actress in over 30 films and TV shows. Some of her most notable works include "Winter in Rio," "The Society of Jesus," "The Party," and "Budva na pjenu od mora."
Leona turned 18 while enrolled at the Academy of Dramatic Art at the University of Zagreb, where she graduated in 2001. During her studies, she won an award for Best Actress for her role in the film "Vinko na Krovu." The following year, she received Croatia's most prestigious film award, the Golden Arena, for Best Actress in the film "Prezimiti u Riu."
Her films have been showcased at more than 200 international film festivals, earning over 30 awards. Leona has received the Best Female Actress award five times, as well as three international awards for her performance in "The Party" at various festivals, including Capalbio Cinema, La Normande et le monde, and the Nice Short Film Festival C'est Trop Court 2010. In addition to her film work, Leona has frequently performed in theater, taking on leading roles. She has appeared in numerous TV commercials, worked as a TV host, and done voice overs for both commercials and films. She has served as a jury member at several film festivals, including the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2013.
In 2014, she moved to California, where she acted in a few American film productions and theater performances while also teaching Acting for the Camera at Santa Barbara City College, one of the best colleges in the USA.
