- Birth nameJay Om Prakash
- J. Om Prakash was born on January 24, 1927 in Sialkot, Punjab, British India. He was a director and producer, known for Aasha (1980), Agnee (1988) and Aandhi (1975). He died on August 7, 2019 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
- His adopted daughter Pinky is married to Rakesh Roshan, making him Hrithik Roshan's maternal grand father. He belongs to the famous Khan-Roshan family.
- Director J. Om Prakash managed to include into his 1980 film "Aasha" the first screen appearance of his grandson - future Hindi film superstar Hrithik Roshan, then aged only 6 - by shooting him in a music interlude without the boy's knowledge.
- J .Om Prakash's wife and director Mohan Kumar's wife are real life sisters.
- Also known as J. Om Prakash Juneja.
- He has directed Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra but never worked with Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha.
- I had the privilege to cast him in Aap Ki Kasam, Akraman, Aashiq Hoon Baharon Ka and Akhir Kyun. Rajesh and I had an association for so many years. Kaka was the first choice for Apnapan and Arpan but due to date issues had to opt for Jeetendra. He was a very warm-hearted person and a great actor. I think he was an asset and rather pride of any filmmaker he worked with. He was my favorite super-star and remains the most versatile too.
- My father was a humble school-teacher from Lahore who rose to be an educationist. His advice to me, "No matter what you do in life, always remain a student who is eager for more knowledge. Never think that you know everything!" always held me in good stead.
- [on Rajesh Khanna] I am one of those who selected him at the United Producers Filmfare Talent Contest in 1965. He gave a wonderful speech and the instant reaction was "lets select him". It was a long performance that revealed the tremendous potential needed, especially for an emotional actor and it moved the hearts of the panel members. Later for the role in Aap Ki Kasam I convinced Kaka that even though it had negative shades only he could do justice to this role
