Martin Portlock and Kit Green are taking on two classic children's characters with a terrifying twist in Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. Portlock and Green suit up as Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, respectively. Instead of being the cheery guides to Neverland that audiences know them to be, Peter Pan is a serial-killing kidnapper, while Tinker Bell is a drug-addicted henchman.
Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is the latest installment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, an interconnected franchise of classic children's characters with a slasher spin. The Scott Chambers-produced world began in 2023 with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and is set to continue with projects like Bambi: The Reckoning and Pinnochio: Unstrung. All installments are building to a crossover film, Poohniverse: Monsters. Assembled, which is planned to go into production this summer.

In a small way, the micro-budgeted U.K. indie “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” more than pulled its weight in drawing audiences back to theaters two years ago. The bad-taste concept and trailer generated guilty-pleasure viral traction; then the Fathom Events theatrical window was so short, there was no chance for word-of-mouth to spoil the fun. Which was fortunate, as the film itself was an amateurish slog.
You have to give the filmmakers credit, though: They swallowed all criticism (including an impressive sweep of the Golden Raspberries), vowing to plow their considerable profits into making better movies …albeit in the same vein. Last year’s “Honey” sequel was reportedly a significant improvement. Now there’s “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare,” a nasty piece of work — in the sense that it appeals to horror fans with a strong stomach not just for gore but truly unpleasant ideas.

Plot: Wendy Darling strikes out in an attempt to rescue her brother Michael from ‘the clutches of the evil Peter Pan.’ Along the way she meets Tinkerbell, who will be seen taking heroin, believing that it’s pixie dust.
Review: It’s always very ambitious for a franchise to announce its plans way ahead of time. It certainly has bit Marvel on the butt, but if you’re going to parody their release schedule, you have to do things full bore. And I think most of us at least chuckled when the Poohniverse was announced. So smack dab in the middle of their release lies Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, a horror take on the J.M. Barrie classic. And it’s a hell of a lot darker than expected.
Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is a very dark and twisted take on Peter Pan as he sucks the souls out of children to remain youthful.

Scott Chambers is in the director's chair for Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare. The latest installment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, a film franchise that also includes horror-ified takes on classic children's characters like Winnie-the-Pooh, follows versions of Peter Pan (Martin Portlock) and Tinker Bell (Kit Green) who abduct children in order to bring them to Neverland.
Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare represents Chambers's first time helming one of these projects. The Essex native previously produced both Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and its sequel, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. He starred in both projects as well, portraying Christopher Robin. Chambers is slated to produce future Tcu stories including Bambi: The Reckoning and Pinnochio: Unstrung.

The narrative of “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” opens with a spooky reimagining of familiar characters: Wendy Darling and her younger brother Michael, who are now trapped in a world distorted by horror. Michael, a symbol of childhood fragility, is the target of a malevolent force.
At the same time, Wendy, on the verge of adulthood, represents a touching combination of innocence and growing strength. In this story, Peter Pan is not the carefree, whimsical figure of old but a dangerous adult who personifies predation and manipulation while posing as a beloved childhood figure.
When Michael is kidnapped, it becomes very clear what set off the events that led to Wendy’s dangerous quest, which was driven by love and despair. This moment ignites her transformation from passive observer to fierce protector, which serves as a catalyst. Wendy’s dangerous journey to save her brother takes her through a dangerous landscape...

More characters keep joining the upcoming massive horror crossover event Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, and the most recent character update raises the stakes for the film but comes with a huge risk. The superhero genre is credited for the popularity of connected universes, and an unlikely one was formed not long ago in the horror genre. In 2023, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey was released, a horror version of the beloved children’s character who entered the public domain a year before. Despite not being the critics’ favorite, Blood and Honey’s popularity made way for a franchise appropriately named The Twisted Childhood Universe.
The idea for the Twisted Childhood Universe is to produce horror movies centered around characters from children’s media, such as Peter Pan and Bambi. The purpose of this is for all of them to meet in a massive crossover event titled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, projected for a 2025 release.

The Twisted Childhood Universe has been one of the most fascinating introductions to the horror genre in recent years, and Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is its latest installment. Created by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the franchise is composed of interconnected stories bringing horror-driven takes on iconic children's characters that are available in the public domain. The franchise began with the critically maligned Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and continued with its generally better-received sequel, while six other movies are in various states of development and production.

The Twisted Childhood Universe continues to expand, and as it continues to add more children’s characters with a horror twist to bring them all together in a crossover event, a new character has been teased to join – and thanks to that, a wild theory about them can come true but with a key twist. The 2023 horror movie Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey boosted a trend in horror of making horror versions of children’s characters and stories. Despite being a critical failure, Blood and Honey made way for a sequel and started a shared universe called Twisted Childhood Universe.
The point of the Twisted Childhood Universe is to bring more horror versions of children’s characters, with each movie leading up to a crossover event titled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble. So far, the characters confirmed to appear in Poohniverse are Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends, Bambi, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Hook, Pinocchio,...

Characters are an immeasurably important part of the films they populate, and oftentimes, great writing can turn characters who are objectively terrible people into lovable parts of their stories. Some of the best movies of all time have characters such as these, equal parts charming as they are dastardly. However, most of all, these characters have managed to stay memorable, even if some of them were created decades ago.
In stark contrast to the best heroes in films or even the greatest best friend duos in movies, characters who are bad people may have even more qualities that make them both real and relatable. Their negative qualities have become a part of their legacy, even if viewers have begun to forget about them over time. Yet characters like Tinkerbell and Jack Sparrow are still terrible people, even if they are generally beloved by their audiences.

Disney Dreamlight Valley has a plethora of adorable animal companions, both in the game and offered as items to purchase during limited-time events. The expansion pass for A Rift in Time introduced capybaras as one of the creatures that players could offer food to in order to befriend and add to their pet collection, but a recent leak makes it look like a new one may be joining the game soon. A Tinker Bell-inspired capybara would certainly be a premium item, but one that may players would happily spend moonstones to get.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey horror crossover Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble is bringing together characters like Pooh, Bambi, Pinocchio, and Peter Pan from the Twisted Childhood Universe. The movie is set to begin filming in March.
While details about the story are still a secret, the slasher film will show the monsters teaming up to face survivors from previous movies.
The franchise’s first installment, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, was met with a negative critical reception and a more mixed fan reception, though it turned a profit at the box office.
The movie’s quality was called into question, with criticisms directed at the script, acting, cinematography, and lack of humor; it also received five Golden Raspberry Awards. In response to this, Frake-Waterfield stated that he is determined to raise the standard with the future films in the franchise.

For the past couple of years, Disney World has rewarded its annual passholders with magnets. The magnets have become sort of a fun collectible, each featuring a special character and design.
Over the years we've seen magnets inspired by Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Simba, Figment, Tinker Bell and more. The only downside to these magnets is that Disney World typically now requires you to visit one of its parks during a select period of time.

Dan Lovinger, who supervised an increasingly complex Olympics ad-sales effort for NBCUniversal and delivered what is believed to be a record level of Madison Avenue sponsorship for the recent Paris Olympics, is leaving the company as it seeks to revamp its efforts to lure advertisers to sports.

She can fly, she can fly, she can fly! Get a breakdown of every time Tinker Bell appears in a feature film from Disney.
Disney may have brought Tinker Bell into pop culture in the early ‘50s, but the tiny but feisty, winged pixie got her start in the 1904 stage play Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up written by J.M. Barrie.
Since then, Tink has largely escaped Peter Pan’s shadow (no pun intended) and become an icon in her own right, appearing in countless animated series and movies.

In J.M. Barrie's original 1904 play "Peter and Wendy," the fairy Tinker Bell was typically represented by a powerful spotlamp, reflected onto the stage by a small hand mirror. Her dialogue was a series of small jingle bells, shaken offstage. When Barrie adapted his play into a 1911 novel, Tinker Bell remained mute, although she was able to participate in the action more closely. In the first film adaptation of Barrie's work, Herbert Brenson's 1924 film "Peter Pan," Tinker Bell was a light dangled by a string in long shots but actor Virginia Browne Faire in close-ups, either filmed against outside sets or composited into the frame.
In 1953, directors Hamilton Luske, Clyde Geronimi, and Wilfred Jackson brought Pan to life in the celebrated animated film "Peter Pan," released by the Walt Disney Company. In that film, Tinker Bell was also mute, but could be animated as a miniature person in most of her scenes,...

Recently, a quote about Disney canceling Tinker Bell for being problematic has circulated around the internet, attributed to a “Disney representative.”
The alleged quote reads:
“Tinkerbell, unfortunately, has become an problematic image for our guests; specifically, young girls. Specifically, in terms of the portrayal of an unrealistic body image as well as dependency of approval and/or attention from Peter Pan, as seen in previous incarnations of the character. We feel these traits are no longer representive of our inclusive focused values and thus, are currently in process of redesigning an updated Tinkerbell for modern audiences.”

Countdown number-wrangler Carol Vorderman will tell you that she appeared on the very first celebrity version of a British TV show in December 1998, but Carol Vorderman has been getting high on her own supply. 18 months before she gave her Cher in a 1998 episode of Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes, Wendy Richard and Todd Carty from EastEnders graced episode one of Celebrity Ready Steady Cook, and they’d appreciate Vorders giving it a bit less of all that, thank you.
The point being: celebrity versions of TV shows are mostly dross. Not being able to choose from the top drawer of fame, they generally feature the packing peanuts of the TV world. These shows use what might be described as a homeopathic definition of ‘celebrity’, in that this glass of water has a better chance of remembering who any of the cast are than I do.
The cast of Celebrity Race Across the World is different.

When is a private eye parody not a parody? Stephen Frears’ first feature strikes a delicate balance — its nearly absurd hardboiled lingo outdoes the spoofs, but the story and characters are pitched 100% straight. Chicago – After the massive success of “A Hard Day’s Night,” director Richard Lester was given more money and more creative freedom to direct “Help!,” a film seen as a disappointment by many at the time, including The Beatles themselves, but historically appreciated (as are most things John, Paul, George, and Ringo). The Beatles 1965 classic has been given a loving restoration, particularly in the sound department, and accompanied by interesting special features and attractive packaging. It’s a great gift idea for The Beatles fan in your family.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
How has the movie held up? So-so. It’s easier to appreciate some of the manic energy of the piece, a style that would influence everything from The Monkees to “Spice World,” but the film kind of wears out its welcome in terms of wacky behavior and doesn’t contain nearly enough actual music for a huge fan of The Beatles such as myself.

Actor best known as the haughty department store supervisor Captain Peacock in the TV comedy Are You Being Served?
The actor Frank Thornton, who has died aged 92, had a flair for comedy derived from the subtle craftsmanship of classical stage work. However, he will be best remembered for his longstanding characters in two popular BBC television comedy series – the sniffily priggish Captain Peacock in Are You Being Served? and the pompous retired policeman Herbert "Truly" Truelove, in Roy Clarke's Last of the Summer Wine.
Robertson Hare, the great Whitehall farceur, told him: "You'll never do any good until you're 40." And, said Thornton, "he was quite right." The actor Frank Thornton, who has died aged 92, had a flair for comedy derived from the subtle craftsmanship of classical stage work. However, he will be best remembered for his longstanding characters in two popular BBC television comedy series – the sniffily priggish Captain Peacock in Are You Being Served? and the pompous retired policeman Herbert "Truly" Truelove, in Roy Clarke's Last of the Summer Wine.

It was colourful, it made the city look beautiful, and included plenty of sex – Mike Sarne's film about one girl's lovelife in the capital defines the swinging 60s better than any other
No matter what you accomplish in life, a novelty hit casts a long shadow. David Bowie manages to get through most days without people shouting "laughing gnome" at him, but Mike Sarne is certainly best remembered for his No 1 single, Come Outside, a record that also introduced us to his (vinyl only) girlfriend, Wendy Richard. History is less quick to recall that he became a photographer of note, dated Brigitte Bardot and directed a film that competed for the Palme d'Or at Cannes.
That film, Joanna, may be the ultimate swinging London film: it's colourful, makes the city look beautiful, includes plenty of sex and is even fairly believable. "I pitched it as the female Alfie," recalls Sarne,...

Big Brother returns with a bang tomorrow night and Big Brother’s Little Brother presenter George Lamb promises that his spin off show will be ‘revolutionary.’
Speaking to Channel 4’s Big Brother website, George Lamb revealed some of the changes planned to Bblb saying:
It’s very different from everything you’ve seen before. I have no audience, I have a co-host now. It’s going to be revolutionary Bblb and hopefully we’ll go out with a bang!
On working with his new co-host Emma Willis George added:
Having a co-host is a lovely lovely thing. I’ve really enjoyed Emma’s company and working with her over the years. Obviously she’s a huge Big Brother fan and she’s been on the show plenty. She was doing all the interactive stuff last year and it was kind of a natural progression. I wouldn’t want to...

This summer, Big Brother returns for one last, loud and lengthy hurrah, and with it, as ever, is its cheeky and irreverent younger sibling, Big Brother’s Little Brother. At the helm once again will be George Lamb (alongside new presenter and Big Brother obsessive Emma Willis). Here, George looks forward to a fantastic summer, looks back on his favourite moments over the show’s history, and reveals why real men can still cry.
So, George, what can you reveal about what’s in store for us with the last ever Big Brother this summer?
There’s nothing I can tell you yet! What I do know is that they’re going to be pulling out all the stops with the show this year. I think the intention is to really push the boundaries of what we’ve seen before, and make the most of it and create something really special.
