Joseph Vassallo - Actor, Writer, Producer
Joseph Vassallo discovered his passion for acting at the age of 13 while visiting his father on the set of Midnight Express. Inspired by the magic of cinema, he enrolled at the prestigious Teatro Manoel in Malta, setting the stage for a remarkable journey in entertainment.
After college, Joseph ventured across Europe, living in Switzerland, Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles. His global experiences extended to working aboard the luxurious QE2 as a Chef De Rang, immersing himself in different cultures. Fluent in English, Italian, Maltese, and conversant in Swiss German and Spanish, he brings a worldly perspective to his craft.
In the 1980s, he moved to New York City to train in acting and theater, eventually settling in Los Angeles in 1987. There, he honed his skills at the Stella Adler Academy and Joanne Baron / D.W. Brown Studio, later earning a coveted spot as an observer at The Actors Studio West under the supervision of the legendary Shelley Winters. His stage career flourished with performances in eleven stage plays.
Joseph's on-screen career began in the early '90s with a Royal Caribbean commercial, leading to over 100 national TV commercials. Notably, his Twix campaign won the Gold Award at the New York Film Festival and a six-years run campaign for, Romano Macaroni Grill. He has shared the screen with Hollywood greats in films like Blankman (with Damon Wayans), The 4th Tenor (with Rodney Dangerfield), Just Married (with Ashton Kutcher & Brittany Murphy), and Our Family Wedding (opposite Academy Award Winner Forest Whitaker). His television Guest Star credits include acclaimed series such as The West Wing, Alias, Diagnosis Murder, and a recurring role on My Wife and Kids.
Beyond acting, in the early 90's, Vassallo worked as Executive Personal Assistant to a Hollywood A-Lister. In addition, he thrived behind the scenes. Joseph was a writer on ABC's My Wife and Kids, later serving as Vice President of Way Out TV, collaborating with Damon Wayans on multiple projects, where Joseph also served as a writer, producer and director. He also earned a Film School degree in Los Angeles and expanded into technology as COO of AKABE5, a game and utility app curator.
In 2017, he took on the prestigious acting role of Enzo Ferrari, playing at Ferrari Land in Barcelona, Spain, embodying the legendary race car pioneer. 2025 presents new roles for Joseph, were he can be seen playing a recurring Guest Star role of Antonio Russo on a Netflix mini-series "From Scratch", opposite award winner, Zoe Saldana, and playing the role of Saro Vitelli, on the hit show 'The Offer" on Paramount Plus, opposite Miles Teller, while actively developing a slate of feature films and television projects of his own.
From stage to screen, from writing to production, Joseph Vassallo continues to leave an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, merging talent, vision, and global experience into every project he touches.
