A graduate of California State University, Wiard joined soap opera
The Young and the Restless (1973)
in 1978 in the capacity of Associate Producer and Script Supervisor.
She assisted in the show's development into the one hour format in
1980. She left the show afterwards but returned in 1986 as Associate
Producer. From 1981-1986 Wiard was a Senior Editor of CBS Daytime
Program Practices. Wiard become Coordinating producer in 1989, being
named Senior Coordinating Producer in 1999 and was eventually promoted
to the rank of Producer in 2002 at
The Young and the Restless (1973).
She left the show in 2003 and became a freelance producer at TV One.
From 2008-2011 she served as representative of the daytime division of
the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
