In a separate post on Bluesky, Frost wrote: “Thanks to all for your kind remembrances on this awful day. Words will come later. Only feelings at the moment. Mourn and remember him but don’t forget to celebrate too. We won’t see his like again. The man from another place has gone home.”

Baz Luhrmann isn’t done with Elvis Presley just yet. The “Elvis” director is going back to the well and is putting together a documentary film on the life of the King, drawing from some never-before-seen footage of Presley that he unearthed while making his feature.

The film will be directed and produced by Luhrmann for Authentic Studios, a still nascent production banner within Authentic Brands Group that is aiming to develop movies and series based on the many brands and IP it represents and manages, among them material from the Presley archive.

Marc Rosen, Authentic’s president of entertainment, shared the news with Variety, which originally reported the news, on Friday, December 13. Reps for Authentic and Luhrmann did not return IndieWire’s request for comment.

Authentic Studios and Baz Luhrmann are having a little more conversation about Elvis Presley. Luhrmann is directing and producing a new documentary about the King of Rock & Roll, centered on never-before-seen footage and recordings of Presley that he unearthed while creating his film “Elvis.”

That’s one of several projects in the works at Authentic Studios, part of the entertainment division of intellectual property brand management firm Authentic Brand Group. Nearly two years after launching a studio division to produce films and TV series tied to its various intellectual properties, Authentic has already sold 14 projects to various outlets.

The output comes after the team at Authentic realized that they wanted to do more than just license their IP — which includes icons like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali; living legends like Shaquille O’Neal and David Beckham; and dozens of brands including Sports Illustrated, Reebok, Juicy Couture and Brooks Brothers.

A pair of the famous ruby slippers that Judy Garland wore during the filming of 1939’s The Wizard of Oz sold for a whopping $28 million in auction on Saturday.

It was the largest amount garnered at an auction for entertainment memorabilia, auction house Heritage Auctions London told The New York Times. The pair, auctioned on behalf of collector Michael Shaw, are one of only four known surviving pairs the actress wore while working on the movie. The buyer was not publicly identified.

A pair of the ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in 1939’s The Wizard of Oz fetched an all-time auction record for entertainment memorabilia when they sold on Saturday afternoon for $28 million. The sale was handled by Dallas-based Heritage Auctions. With the buyer’s premium, the total is $32.5 million, and the buyer currently remains anonymous.

Auctioneer Mike Sadler announced at the podium at the conclusion of the lot’s bidding that the slippers had far surpassed the previous auction record of $5.52 million for the white halter dress designed by William Travilla and worn by Marilyn Monroe in 1955’s The Seven Year Itch. That costume also was sold at Heritage in 2011 and was part of the famed collection of Debbie Reynolds.

“There is simply no comparison between Judy Garland’s ruby slippers and any other piece of Hollywood memorabilia,” said Joe Maddalena, executive vice president of Heritage Auctions, in a statement released following the sale.

Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has settled his lawsuit against Evan Rachel Wood. The suit was filed after she accused him of sexual abuse. According to the documents, Manson will pay Wood roughly $327,000 in attorneys’ fees as part of the agreement reached on November 19.

Earl Holliman, the handsome actor who won a Golden Globe for his supporting role in “The Rainmaker” and appeared in numerous Westerns and dozens of films including “Giant” and “Forbidden Planet,” died Monday in Studio City. He was 96.

His partner Craig Curtis announced his death.

Holliman also starred in the first episode of “The Twilight Zone” in 1959.

Curtis recounted that in a letter to Holliman, Serling later wrote, “…your performance was outstanding, full of dimension, shading and a fantastic believability. In short, Holliman, you’re one hell of an actor!”

Some of his other film credits include “Broken Lance,” “The Bridges at Toko-Ri,” “Gunfight at the O.K. Corral,” “Don’t Go Near the Water,” “Last Train from Gun Hill,” “The Sons of Katie Elder” and “Sharky’s Machine.”
