That’s your lot. Until the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 begin in a few weeks, the Olympic Games are over. No more hearing your neighbours through the wall cheering on Team Gb in the 400m Relay, no more fun and fleeting national obsessions with background players such as the man who retrieves rogue swimming hats from the bottom of the pool, or the magnificently curly haired official who carries the trays containing the medallists’ posters, and no more wondering where Clare Balding gets her blouses – the closing ceremony has closed.
What that means for UK TV viewers is the gradual return of actual television to the schedules. There’s new Only Connect, University Challenge, Who Do You Think You Are?, Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity Race Across the World and soon, new Great British Bake Off. If none of that excites you, then this is a great time to catch up on any overdue US imports.

Veteran broadcaster David Dimbleby has turned down the chance to play a role in the BBC’s coverage of the King’s coronation, according to reports.
The BBC’s coverage of the 6 May event will be led by Kirsty Young, 54, in a studio outside Buckingham Palace, with Huw Edwards, 61, and Clare Balding, 52, providing commentary.
Dimbleby, 84, was offered a role in the coverage, according to a report in The Times, but opted against playing “second fiddle” in the presenting lineup.
The Independent has contacted Dimbleby’s representatives for comment.
It is not clear what exactly Dimbleby’s role would have entailed, but it signals a shift from tradition: his father Richard covered the funeral of George VI in 1952 and Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation the following year.

The BBC horse-racing commentator, dubbed 'the Voice of Racing', died at home in London following a long illness.
During his career, he commentated on 50 Grand Nationals and a massive 14,000 races in total before retiring in 1997.

Incomparable, irreplaceable, indelible. Sir Peter will never be matched & never forgotten. The ultimate pro & the definition of a gentleman

Daniel Craig, Dame Judi Dench, Jk Rowling and Sir David Attenborough are among the names who have signed an open letter to David Cameron ahead of the BBC's Charter Review.

Rachel Weisz, Mark Rylance, David Walliams, Miranda Hart, Michael McIntyre, Steven Moffatt, Richard Curtis, Simon Schama and Sir Lenny Henry have also put their names to the letter.

After complaints it didn't match up to John Inverdale's Today at Wimbledon, Clare Balding's Wimbledon 2Day has brought in higher audience figures following an overhaul.
The new-look BBC2 show, with Balding still in the umpire's chair, brought in 2.2 million viewers (a 10.8% share) on Monday night.
That figure was almost 1 million up on the previous Monday's show, which had 1.3 million viewers and a 6.8% share.
Last week's audience average was also 1.3 million across six episodes.
Wimbledon 2Day started as a more informal programme than Today at Wimbledon, with Balding chatting to guests and fans at a wine bar named the Gatsby Club.
It also included home video clips of babies playing tennis, while highlights of the day's action were largely reduced.
The show's unpopular studio audience has now been axed, while the venue has become a studio above Centre Court, and the tennis highlights have been increased.

The BBC is making big changes to Wimbledon 2Day after largely negative reviews.
Clare Balding's nightly Wimbledon highlights show has not gone down well with viewers or critics since it debuted last week, mainly due to its replacement of the usual Today at Wimbledon series.
The show's unpopular studio audience will be axed tonight (July 6), and will be replaced by a studio above Centre Court.
In previous years, John Inverdale hosted an evening highlights package, but Wimbledon 2Day has featured a more informal programme in which Balding chats to guests and fans at a wine bar named the Gatsby Club.
It has also included home video clips of babies playing tennis, while highlights of the day's action has been largely reduced.
The changes have been met with poor reviews, with 56% of Digital Spy users currently declaring the show dreadful, while 29% said it could do better and just 14% giving their seal of approval.

Clare Balding's new Wimbledon highlights show has been met with largely negative reviews since it debuted on Monday (June 29).
Wimbledon 2Day has been criticised by tennis fans on Twitter, while Radio Times called it "a mess, a giddy mix of inane tweets, snippets of matches (let's not forget actual tennis is being played, something, presumably we all want to see, which is why we've tuned in) and a bit of chat."
Much of the criticism has been levelled at the name of the show, and the fact that it's replaced tennis highlights with The One Show-style chat, home videos from viewers and tweets.
The show replaced the long-running Today at Wimbledon series which presented highlights of the day's action for those who may have missed the live matches while at work.
Its second show on Tuesday (June 30) appeared to be slightly tweaked to show more tennis, but viewers were still not best pleased.

Murder in Successville star Tom Davis has revealed he wants David and Victoria Beckham to guest on a second series.
BBC Three's semi-improvised comedy series stars Davis as the burly Di Sleet, with celebrity guests helping him solve a murder in the fictional 'Successville'.
"Everyone involved in it is dying to do a second series," the actor and comedian told Digital Spy. "If I'm honest, it's just whether there's a channel there to make it for!
"But yeah, fingers crossed - I'm really hopeful. There's nothing confirmed yet, but I'd love to take it up to the next level.
"We've always had big plans if it goes to a second series of what we want to do - the worry would be that people think they know how to handle it, but they've only seen the tip of the iceberg and we can pull the rug out from under them a lot more!
