- Wolf Biermann was born on November 15, 1936 in Hamburg, Germany. He is a composer and actor, known for Born in '45 (1990), Novalis - Die blaue Blume (1993) and Mensch Biermann! (1977). He has been married to Pamela Rüsche since 1989. They have three children. He was previously married to Christine Barg.

- Famous German Democratic Republic singer-songwriter who was stripped from his citizenship whilst being on tour in West Germany. In the following weeks, many leading GDR intellectuals and artists such as Christa Wolf, Stefan Heym, Katharina Thalbach, Manfred Krug or Armin Mueller-Stahl protested against the socialist rulers (1976).
