The Young and the Restless spoilers for the week of April 30-May 4, 2018, show that May’s soap opera sweeps month is full of heartbreak and loss, deception and bombshells! Musician Linda Perry and former Roseanne star and current The Talk host Sara Gilbert got married on Sunday night.
Sara Gilbert, Linda Perry Marry
Perry and Gilbert’s nuptials were announced on The Talk Monday morning. Gilbert’s co-host Julie Chen, who was at the affair, broke the news. “Let's get started with a big congratulations for our own Sara Gilbert, who got married last night," Chen said. "It was magical. It was the most beautiful ceremony."
Aisha Tyler added, "Amazing, amazing night. Beautiful, and it was at sunset and overlooking the ocean." Tyler then cut herself off, saying, "I mean, we can't tell too much about it because we want Sara to talk about it,"
Gilbert and Perry are honeymooning for the week, so The Talk host won’t be able to gush about her wedding until next Monday. Gilbert previously opened up about Perry’s proposal on the daytime talk show.

On Sunday night, sometime after the George Clooney joke but before the Leonardo DiCaprio joke, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick came onstage to present their daughter, Sosie, as the 2014 Miss Golden Globes. They were very proud, and it was sweet, in an embarrassing Mom and Dad sort of way — but it raised some perennial questions about what, exactly, the Miss (or occasionally Mr.) Golden Globes job entails. The basic facts: Miss/Mr. Golden Globe is always the child of a celebrity, and he or she stands to the side of the stage during the ceremony. There is usually a brief introduction by the parents, but then Miss Golden Globe disappears again. So we called two former Miss Golden Globes — Clementine Ford (1998) and Rainey Qualley (2012) — to talk about their experience and find out exactly what happens behind the scenes. Some answers below. How do you become Miss...

Sosie Bacon may only be 21, but she has a lot going for her. On top of being 2014's Miss Golden Globe, through her father Kevin Bacon, she is connected to nearly everyone in Hollywood - including every other previous Miss Golden Globe, most of whom are also the daughters (or sons) of industry power players. And while some have a connection through their famous parents, others, such as Laura Dern (who happens to have famous parents), are also connected through their own work. Don't believe us? Here's how you get from young Ms. Bacon to all of her famous predecessors,...

Actress Cybill Shepherd has gotten engaged. The 'Taxi Driver' star has agreed to marry jeweller-turned-psychologist Andrei Nikolajevic. Until her recent engagement, Cybill - who was formerly married to David Ford and Bruce Oppenheim - ruled out the possibility of finding a permanent life partner. She told New York's Daily News: 'I never thought I'd get married again. The 'Client List' and 'Cybill' actress admitted that the proposal was, 'Very romantic and on one knee.' The 62-year-old screen star has three grown children from her previous marriages. In 1978 she married auto parts dealer and nightclub entertainer David M. Ford and the following year became pregnant with daughter Clementine Ford. They divorced in 1982. In 1987 she became pregnant...

He hasn't changed much from his modeling days.
And...we're back! Sorry about the holiday break from Twitterwatch, but the big sales right after Thanksgiving take a lot out of me. Looks like Black Friday took something out of a lot of celebrities too. Some of this week's featured players seem angry enough at their fellow man to pull out the pepper spray.
Victor Webster has been in some of my favorite campy shows like Mutant X and Melrose Place, and he always managed to bring that incredible body he's had since his modeling days. Perhaps he should take up boxing as a fitness activity. It might let him work out his frustrations. Of course, we've all been there.
Trevor Donovan is generally the cuddly one around here, appearing with little Tito and looking every bit the blond California stud he is. Who knew he had an angry side? I wonder what his neighbor did?...

During the month of February, AfterEllen.com highlights the queer black women who continue to overcome obstacles in the entertainment industry and society, ultimately finding success. These women not only face discrimination for being queer in such an image-oriented profession, but for being black as well. Regardless of how you sexually or ethnically identify, let's celebrate these bad-ass individuals!
This week’s spotlight: queer black women behind the camera.
Pariah filmmakers Nekisa Cooper and Dee Rees

Shepherd's Daughter Steps Out With Lesbian Lover
Cybill Shepherd's youngest daughter has 'come out' as a lesbian, a year after her older sibling announced she was gay.
Clementine Ford, 30, revealed her sexual preference last year and now the Moonlighting star's other daughter, Ariel Shepherd-Oppenheim, has followed in her footsteps.
The 22 year old stepped out in public with her girlfriend for the first time to attend the 21st Annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards in San Francisco, California earlier this month to watch the comedienne receive the Golden Gate Award. The honour is given to stars in recognition of their work promoting equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (Lgbt) community.
Shepherd-Oppenheim was applauded by the gay rights group for going public with the same-sex romance at the event and her actress mum couldn't be happier, reports the National Enquirer.
A source tells the tabloid, "Cybill's always been a huge supporter of gay people."
Ariel is the twin sister of troubled Zack Shepherd-Oppenheim, who has been ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous sessions following his arrest for theft in January.

The annual fundraiser for women-specific services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, "An Evening With Women," was held this past weekend in Los Angeles. Nearly $400,000 was raised, and AfterEllen.com was fortunate enough to have two correspondents, Lesley Goldberg and Sarah Witness (our L.A. Scene columnist) in attendance to provide both red carpet interviews and a wish-you-were-there overview of the night.
The benefit also honored community leader Jewel Thais-Williams and featured appearances by Gina Gershon, Sarah Silverman, Linda Perry and Pink, Clementine Ford, Heart, Renée Zellweger, Kat Von D and Jamie Lauren.
On the red carpet, Lesley Goldberg spoke to Perry, Ford, Ann Wilson (of Heart), and Zellweger.

As 2009 comes to a close, we take a look back at some of the people and events that made this the Best. Lesbian. Decade. Ever. in pop culture.
Luckily for all of us, there was far more information to have mentioned from the last ten years than we could have included in this brief survey. That's why our lists for each year are not intended to be exhaustive, but are instead snapshots of different memorable moments that included the representation of lesbians and bisexual women in film, television, music, literature, comics, sports and the Internet since the year 2000.

In our annual Visibility Awards, we formally recognize the people who have positively or negatively impacted lesbian and bi visibility in American entertainment during the year. (See previous years here: 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004.)
From Best Movie to Worst Song to Lesbian/Bi Woman of the Year, these awards recognize the television shows, movies, music, books and people who entertained, inspired, or disappointed us in 2009.
Last year, some of the category winners were chosen by both the AfterEllen.com staff and AfterEllen.com readers. This year, AfterEllen.com staff and contributing writers chose the winners for each category, as readers will be given the opportunity to vote on a wider range of topics and categories in our first annual Lesbian/Bi Women's Choice Awards in January.
Once again this year, we've included international people, shows and movies as a reflection of the increasing awareness of lesbian and bisexual visibility around the world made possible by the Internet.

Visibility Matters is a monthly-ish column by AfterEllen.com Founder Sarah Warn about larger trends affecting lesbian/bi women in entertainment and the media.
Visibility Matters: Entertaining the Future
Lesbian/bi visibility in entertainment today is a mass of contradictions. It's both better and worse than it was when I started writing about it more than seven years ago.
There are more lesbian talk show hosts than ever before on network TV, but still very few fictional lesbian characters on broadcast or cable TV.
We now have well-developed, prominent lesbian characters and superheroes in comics — from Willow to Batwoman — but even the most minor lesbian characters are missing from, or "straightened out" in, most studio theatrical releases. Sometimes an entire lesbian subculture is de-gayed, as demonstrated in Whip It.
Female musicians are coming out left and right as gay or bisexual, as we saw when Brandi Carlile finally confirmed last week that she's a lesbian,...

Q: Oh wise and airborne simian, I've noted the massive number of posts on Torchwood over the last couple of weeks, and I wonder if it hasn’t generated more posts than any other topic on After Elton.com. If it hasn't, what subject has? -- Hayden, London, UK
Captain Jack says goodbye to Ianto in Torchwood: Children of Earth
A: First, your salutation made me laugh. Second, the answer is unequivocally yes, nothing else has ever come close to the interest we’ve seen in Torchwood’s “Children of Earth”mini-series – specifically creator Russell T Davies’ decision to kill off the gay character of Ianto. By now, we’ve all made our opinions known ad nauseum, so I won’t get into that again.

True story: I joined Twitter to follow Tina Fey. In January I had read that she was on Twitter and in my haste to worship at the alter of Fey-minism, I didn’t get around to checking out whether Tina was really Tina. Alas, she was not. Instead it was just some Big Mac-loving huckster who Tina herself acknowledged was fairly funny, but totally fake. Gullibility, 1. Ms. Snarker, 0.
So imagine my elation now that it seems the real Tina has reclaimed her account, @tinafey. Granted, she hasn’t posted a single tweet yet. I realize my excitement about someone who has yet to use even one of her 140 characters may seem premature. But now you see the levels of my obsession devotion.
So, what will Tina tweet? I would love it if she joined the chorus of celebrities criticizing the California court’s recent upholding of Prop. 8. Baring that...

This week's Soap Opera Digest magazine features an interview with out actress Clementine Ford, in which she opens up about her move to daytime television, her girlfriend and why talking about being gay on a soap opera is like asking what it's like to be straight in a dentist's office. (Answer: "It's just my life.")
While Ford doesn't find the news about her sexuality to be all that noteworthy, she was warm and open about her relationship with singer/songwriter Linda Perry, telling Soap Opera Digest:
Every time I do an interview, she asks, 'Did you mention me?' We go to events together and we don't try to hide anything. We're just a couple. We're both like, "I can't wait to show you off."
The couple had a chance to do just that at last month's charity event, An Evening with Women, which was spearheaded by Perry herself.

Cybill Shepherd rocks.
Sure, we have straight allies everywhere these days, now that being a Friend O’ The Gays is trendy. But Shepherd has been front and center, speaking out for gay and lesbian rights for over a decade. So, I was thrilled to see, thanks to a tip from AfterEllen.com reader Christine, that she received the National Ally for Equality award at the Hrc Atlanta Dinner last week.
Cybill was entertaining, as always, with funny stories about her time on The L Word and thoughtful reflections on her experiences as a human rights activist and recent progress toward Lgbt equality. And, of course, she mentioned daughter Clementine Ford’s coming out, saying, “I couldn’t be more proud and more happy.”
Here’s the speech, in its entirety.
More good news for Cybill Shepherd fans: Lifetime recently started airing the hilarious sitcom, Cybill, every day at 8 a.m.

Last weekend celebrities came out in style to attend the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center's annual fundraiser An Evening with Women, and we have photos, photos, and more photos! (All photos are from Getty unless otherwise specified.)
Our L.A. Scene columnist Sarah Witness is going to cover it in more detail in her next column, but here's a quick rundown of the event.
Gina Gershon (Love Ranch, Bound) was scheduled to host, but had to back out at the last minute when her shooting schedule was changed, so Jennifer Coolidge (Nip/Tuck, Best in Show) gamely stepped in to Mc, entertaining the crowd with lines like, "a word about Mormons — what the f--k?" (pause) "I realize that was more than one word."
Jennifer Coolidge welcomes the crowd

Shepherd's Actress Daughter Comes Out
Cybill Shepherd's actress daughter Clementine Ford has come out as gay, five years after divorcing her husband.
The 29-year-old, who played the daughter of Shepherd's lesbian character in TV show The L Word, made the revelation on gay news site TheAdvocate.com.
She says, "Look, I am gay. I just wanted there not to be this big emphasis on it."
Ford ended her four year marriage to actor Chad Todhunter back in 2004.

There's been some confusion about Clementine Ford lately, with a semi-retraction of her "coming out" in Diva Magazine. Ford recently told TV Guide that she hadn't "come out" at all, and did not like to "label herself."
Today, she told The Advocate: "I am gay. "I just wanted there not to be this big emphasis on it."
"It’s funny," Ford said of her interview with Diva. "I was having kind of rough day. My best friend sent me a text saying, 'You have to see this.' So, I went online to see this link and I read the comments and I go, 'They hate me!' When I did the TV Guide interview I was angry because there is the whole perception now that I came out and I went back in. And what upset me was I felt that because I did not 'come out' in that interview,...

First things first: Clementine Ford does not say she's not gay; nor did she ever really say she was. Even though Diva magazine put her on the cover of their March issue with the text "Clementine Ford Comes Out," the actress wants you to know that she didn't — not at all.
"The first thing that really upset me was that the cover line ... It was really misleading and full of misquotes to sell the magazine," Ford told TV Guide. "If someone’s buying it to see that I came out, well, get your money back."
As we reported previously, the U.K.-based lesbian magazine Diva took this quote and ran with it:
I never want to put a label on myself — but knowing that not everyone comes from such a liberal place, when something like Prop 8 comes out, you realize it’s important to stand up and be counted.

Clementine Ford, the eldest child of Cybill Shepherd and a recent cast member of The L Word (where she played Molly), is joining The Young and the Restless in the contract role of Mackenzie "Mac" Browning, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. Although Mac returns to Genoa City on Wednesday, April 1, her presence will be no joke to ex-husband Billy. The young lovebirds were ...

In the March issue of Diva, Clementine Ford officially came out.
She told the magazine: "I never want to put a label on myself — but knowing that not everyone comes from such a liberal place, when something like Prop 8 comes out, you realize it’s important to stand up and be counted. A little gay kid in a small town is more important than whether I want a label."
Since joining the cast of The L Word, Ford has had plenty of opportunities to meet those small town gay kids.
Last summer, while she was shooting a public service announcement for the Point Foundation (an organization that grants scholarships to Lgbt students), Ford asked Curve reporter Jd Disalvatore why the charming, intelligent Point Scholars she'd met that day had been kicked out of their homes.
The answer: "Some people don’t like their kids being gay."
She sent a letter...

Cybill Shepherd Was A School Boy Fantasy
Cybill Shepherd's daughter Clementine Ford hated having a famous mother when she was younger - because her friends lusted after her! Ford struggled with her own self image when she was younger, wishing she was taller, slimmer and blonder than she was, so she'd look as attractive as her sex-symbol mother. But the major problem of having a stunning parent in the limelight was the way her male friends reacted. She remembers, "It was horrible. I had friends in high school who wanted to have sex with my mother. I'm not going to blame her for being beautiful - but it's still gross."...
