Musician Linda Perry and former Roseanne star and current The Talk host Sara Gilbert got married on Sunday night.

Perry and Gilbert’s nuptials were announced on The Talk Monday morning. Gilbert’s co-host Julie Chen, who was at the affair, broke the news. “Let's get started with a big congratulations for our own Sara Gilbert, who got married last night," Chen said. "It was magical. It was the most beautiful ceremony."

Aisha Tyler added, "Amazing, amazing night. Beautiful, and it was at sunset and overlooking the ocean." Tyler then cut herself off, saying, "I mean, we can't tell too much about it because we want Sara to talk about it,"

Gilbert and Perry are honeymooning for the week, so The Talk host won’t be able to gush about her wedding until next Monday. Gilbert previously opened up about Perry’s proposal on the daytime talk show.

Last night in Beverly Hills, the place to be was the Beverly Hills Hotel for the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (Glsen) 2012 Respect Awards. The honorees receiving awards were couple Simon Halls and Matt Bomer (Inspiration Award), Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg (Lifetime Achievement Award) and brothers Bob and Harvey Weinstein (Chairman's Award). The 2012 Student of the Year Award was also given to Smu student Luis Veloz. Actress Cybill Shepherd has gotten engaged. The 'Taxi Driver' star has agreed to marry jeweller-turned-psychologist Andrei Nikolajevic. Until her recent engagement, Cybill - who was formerly married to David Ford and Bruce Oppenheim - ruled out the possibility of finding a permanent life partner. She told New York's Daily News: 'I never thought I'd get married again. The 'Client List' and 'Cybill' actress admitted that the proposal was, 'Very romantic and on one knee.' The 62-year-old screen star has three grown children from her previous marriages. In 1978 she married auto parts dealer and nightclub entertainer David M. Ford and the following year became pregnant with daughter Clementine Ford. They divorced in 1982. In 1987 she became pregnant...

Cybill Shepherd's youngest daughter has 'come out' as a lesbian, a year after her older sibling announced she was gay.

Clementine Ford, 30, revealed her sexual preference last year and now the Moonlighting star's other daughter, Ariel Shepherd-Oppenheim, has followed in her footsteps.

The 22 year old stepped out in public with her girlfriend for the first time to attend the 21st Annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards in San Francisco, California earlier this month to watch the comedienne receive the Golden Gate Award. The honour is given to stars in recognition of their work promoting equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (Lgbt) community.

Shepherd-Oppenheim was applauded by the gay rights group for going public with the same-sex romance at the event and her actress mum couldn't be happier, reports the National Enquirer.

A source tells the tabloid, "Cybill's always been a huge supporter of gay people."

Ariel is the twin sister of troubled Zack Shepherd-Oppenheim, who has been ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous sessions following his arrest for theft in January.

Lady GaGa was named Outstanding Music Artist on the Saturday night, June 5 ceremony of the 21st Annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards. She won over Adam Lambert, Brandi Carlile, The Gossip and Otep.

Furthermore, actress Cybill Shepherd was honored with Golden Gate Award at the event taking place at the Marriott Marquis in San Francisco. Director Lee Daniels was also among those walking home with a prize. The "Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire" helmer collected the Davidson/Valenti award.

Country singer Chely Wright will make her first big splash as a gay star since 'coming out' recently by performing at the The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards in San Francisco, California next month.

The "Single White Female" singer will join Sam Sparro on the bill at the annual prizegiving, which will honor Cybill Shepherd and "Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire" director Lee Daniels. Actress Shepherd will receive the Golden Gate Award and Daniels will receive the Davidson/Valentini Award at the 21st annual GLAAD Media Awards.

Shepherd's honor will be a family affair - her daughters Clementine Ford and Ariel Shepherd-Oppenheim will present mum with her award, which is presented to media professionals who, through their work, have "increased the visibility and understanding of the Lgbt community".

The annual fundraiser for women-specific services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, "An Evening With Women," was held this past weekend in Los Angeles. Nearly $400,000 was raised, and AfterEllen.com was fortunate enough to have two correspondents, Lesley Goldberg and Sarah Witness (our L.A. Scene columnist) in attendance to provide both red carpet interviews and a wish-you-were-there overview of the night.

The benefit also honored community leader Jewel Thais-Williams and featured appearances by Gina Gershon, Sarah Silverman, Linda Perry and Pink, Clementine Ford, Heart, Renée Zellweger, Kat Von D and Jamie Lauren.

On the red carpet, Lesley Goldberg spoke to Perry, Ford, Ann Wilson (of Heart), and Zellweger.

Cybill Shepherd has been cast as Jennifer Love Hewitt's mom in an upcoming Lifetime original movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The untitled project, which Hewitt's Fedora Films will co-produce, is based on the true story of an aesthetician who is shocked to learn that her homecoming queen daughter has turned to prostitution to help make ends meet.

No word yet on when the film will hit the small screen.

Shepherd, who starred alongside her daughter, Clementine Ford, on the final season of 'The L Word,' was recently seen on ABC's 'Eastwick' and CBS' 'Criminal Minds.'

Angelina Jolie won an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Girl, Interrupted and told Talk Magazine, "I only play women I would date.

Last year, some of the category winners were chosen by both the AfterEllen.com staff and AfterEllen.com readers. This week's Soap Opera Digest magazine features an interview with out actress Clementine Ford, in which she opens up about her move to daytime television, her girlfriend and why talking about being gay on a soap opera is like asking what it's like to be straight in a dentist's office. (Answer: "It's just my life.")

While Ford doesn't find the news about her sexuality to be all that noteworthy, she was warm and open about her relationship with singer/songwriter Linda Perry, telling Soap Opera Digest:

Every time I do an interview, she asks, 'Did you mention me?' We go to events together and we don't try to hide anything. We're just a couple. We're both like, "I can't wait to show you off."

The couple had a chance to do just that at last month's charity event, An Evening with Women, which was spearheaded by Perry herself.

Greek’s Gregory Michael Plays Gay Again

Many AfterElton.com readers are familiar with Michael from his three years on steamy supernatural soap Dante’s Cove, while some, including this columnist, may even recognize him from his stint in 2003 on As The World Turns. Below we chat with the handsome actor about how he feels about his new role as Grant, Calvin’s love interest on the college comedy-drama Greek, his time on Dante’s Cove – and more!

Cybill Shepherd rocks.

Sure, we have straight allies everywhere these days, now that being a Friend O’ The Gays is trendy. But Shepherd has been front and center, speaking out for gay and lesbian rights for over a decade. So, I was thrilled to see, thanks to a tip from AfterEllen.com reader Christine, that she received the National Ally for Equality award at the Hrc Atlanta Dinner last week.

Cybill was entertaining, as always, with funny stories about her time on The L Word and thoughtful reflections on her experiences as a human rights activist and recent progress toward Lgbt equality. And, of course, she mentioned daughter Clementine Ford’s coming out, saying, “I couldn’t be more proud and more happy.”

This second annual NewNowNext Awards will air on Logo on Saturday, June 13, and the nominees for each category were just announced this morning. Several celebrities will be in attendance, including presenters Vanessa Williams, Lisa Lampinelli and Lance Bass. RuPaul will host, and Britney Spears will be recognized with a special "Always Next, Forever Now" award.

Several out women are up for awards this year in different categories. Here are some that will make voting a little difficult:

Cybill Shepherd's actress daughter Clementine Ford has come out as gay, five years after divorcing her husband.

The 29-year-old, who played the daughter of Shepherd's lesbian character in TV show The L Word, made the revelation on gay news site TheAdvocate.com.

She says, "Look, I am gay. I just wanted there not to be this big emphasis on it."

Ford ended her four year marriage to actor Chad Todhunter back in 2004.

There's been some confusion about Clementine Ford lately, with a semi-retraction of her "coming out" in Diva Magazine. Ford recently told TV Guide that she hadn't "come out" at all, and did not like to "label herself."

Today, she told The Advocate: "I am gay. "I just wanted there not to be this big emphasis on it."

"It’s funny," Ford said of her interview with Diva. "I was having kind of rough day. My best friend sent me a text saying, 'You have to see this.' So, I went online to see this link and I read the comments and I go, 'They hate me!' When I did the TV Guide interview I was angry because there is the whole perception now that I came out and I went back in. And what upset me was I felt that because I did not 'come out' in that interview,...

First things first: Clementine Ford does not say she's not gay; nor did she ever really say she was. Even though Diva magazine put her on the cover of their March issue with the text "Clementine Ford Comes Out," the actress wants you to know that she didn't — not at all.

"The first thing that really upset me was that the cover line ... It was really misleading and full of misquotes to sell the magazine," Ford told TV Guide. "If someone’s buying it to see that I came out, well, get your money back."

In the March issue of Diva, Clementine Ford officially came out.

She told the magazine: "I never want to put a label on myself — but knowing that not everyone comes from such a liberal place, when something like Prop 8 comes out, you realize it’s important to stand up and be counted. A little gay kid in a small town is more important than whether I want a label."

Since joining the cast of The L Word, Ford has had plenty of opportunities to meet those small town gay kids.

Last summer, while she was shooting a public service announcement for the Point Foundation (an organization that grants scholarships to Lgbt students), Ford asked Curve reporter Jd Disalvatore why the charming, intelligent Point Scholars she'd met that day had been kicked out of their homes.
