After the events of season two, Dci Tom Mathias (Richard Harrington) is on the hunt for Iwan Thomas (Geraint Morgan). When Thomas is found dead though, Mathias is soon under suspicion in an investigation that will discover a cover-up connected to an old case that threatens to create a rift with the whole team.
Season three of Hinterland is interesting because it brings in a conspiracy that goes right to the top, and connects to the past. While each of the four episodes has a case to be solved to keep things moving, the hunt for the killer of Iwan Thomas is an the on-going overall story arc.
The problem with the case of course is that it threatens to unravel the cover-up, which people don’t want to be revealed.

Strictly Come Dancing had another classic Halloween episode this weekend, but of course it was scarier for some of the celebrities than others. But who looks like they might be out of the running and who is creeping closer to that Glitter Ball trophy?
Out of the running: Kirsty Gallacher
Well, this seems particularly cruel. Kirsty had finally started to turn things around last week and was creeping up our rankings… but then her Halloween Charleston went horribly wrong with slips and mistakes and she picked up her lowest score of the series before becoming the first woman to be booted out (she joins the series' other eliminees Iwan Thomas, Anthony Ogogo, Daniel O'Donnell and Ainsley Harriott). Bad luck, Kirsty.
10. Jamelia (⬇3)
It doesn't seem quite fair to have Jamelia at the bottom of the rankings. She's far from the worst dancer in the competition and she's been improving, too, but...

Ex-Strictly Come Dancing star Iwan Thomas has suggested Anita Rani is the "dark horse" in the competition and could go on to win it.
The 42-year-old Olympic athlete - who became the first celebrity contestant to exit the BBC1 ballroom competition with dance partner Orla Jordan - revealed to Digital Spy his surprise at how good the Countryfile presenter turned out to be.
"I think she's [Rani] got a chance to do really, really well. I don't know if she's got any dance background - I've known her for years she's never told me she can dance like that so I was really pleasantly surprised to see her on the opening show and just how good she was," he enthused.
"She's probably someone that the public should look out for, I think she could be the dark horse - she could do really well. She may not quite be as...

Iwan Thomas became the first crestfallen celebrity contestant to exit Strictly Come Dancing last weekend along with professional dance partner Orla Jordan.
The 42-year-old Olympic athlete told Digital Spy that he would have liked "nicer" comments from some of the stricter judges, because while he admits he's not a natural dancer, he put his all into his performances.
"To put so much hard work into something and then you get - I won't say the word slated but you know when you get remarks that you think are slightly unfair then it's quite hard to take," he recalled of the comments made by judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.
"Look, I know I'm not a good dancer, but I think it would have been nicer to hear something along the lines of, 'I know you're clearly not a good dancer but respect to you for throwing everything into that dance'.

Strictly Come Dancing is doing a lot of good for the dance world, choreographer Matthew Bourne has claimed.
Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Bourne questioned whether dancers should be "snobby" towards the BBC One show, considering how it has helped turn everyone into "critics".
"I love it!" he said (via Radio Times). "I seriously appreciate what Strictly's done for dance.
"The dance world can be a bit snobby about things as we know, and Strictly's maybe one of them. What Strictly's done is make everyone into critics to a certain extent, because we all look and analyse the dances.
"But in a good way, because also what it does do is when someone is praised, we understand why this was better than last week, what they've gained."
Bourne has worked on productions including Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.

James Jordan has accused 'Strictly Come Dancing' of selling ''horrible'' stories about his wife Ola Jordan. The 37-year-old professional dancer - who was axed from 'Strictly' in 2014 - has spoken out after his wife Ola and her partner Iwan Thomas became the first couple to be voted off the dance contest last night (04.10.15). He wrote on Twitter: ''I'm so proud of @The_OlaJordan After her injury just to get back on Strictly was a massive thing. And she's made another fried @Iwanrunner ''Now Ola's out hopefully @bbcstrictly can stop selling horrible stories about her. But thanks BBC for publicising her 2016 calendar...

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan has suggested that show bosses are giving Peter Andre an unfair advantage on this year's show.
Andre and his partner Janette Manrara have stormed the first two weeks of the competition, scoring 30 points apiece for their Cha-Cha-Cha and quickstep.
The pair performed last on night two of the first week of the show, and were second last to take to the stage on Saturday night before Call the Midwife's Helen George and her partner Aljaž Skorjanec closed the show.
"I love Peter but I wonder if he will open or close every show? Fairness," Jordan wrote on Twitter during the show.
In a series of tweets that followed, Jordan continued to critique Andre's performance, but also admitted that he was being extra hard on him because of his quality.
"Not a patch on last week and at times looked like he was...

2. Kirsty Gallacher & Brendan Cole dancing the waltz: 4-5-6-5 = 20
Bruno: "Your feet were all over the place, I'm sure you can do better."

With the Strictly Come Dancing launch show just around the corner, it was time for a little trip to the studios to meet the lucky (or unlucky) stars taking to the ballroom this year. Jeremy Vine was busy on the radio so couldn't be there, but we still managed to wangle plenty of secrets out of the celebs...
1. Don't expect Peter Andre to be whipping his shirt off immediately.

"You become obsessed with it. Literally, this weekend I was washing up and dancing. My daughters were like, 'Mummy, what are you doing?' and I was like, 'I'm not your mummy anymore.

It wouldn't be Christmas without Sir Bruce Forsyth on Strictly Come Dancing - and the veteran host is returning once again for the ballroom show's festive special.
The 87-year-old, who officially stood down as presenter of Strictly in 2013 after a decade, is also coming back for its Children in Need episode.

Forsyth said earlier this year that he felt "stale" towards the end of his tenure on Strictly.
Claudia Winkleman replaced him as Tess Daly's co-host on the 12th series, but Forsyth again made appearances on the 2014 Children in Need and Christmas specials.
The celebrity line-up this year includes presenter Jeremy Vine, popstars Peter Andre and Jamelia, former athlete Iwan Thomas and TV chef Ainsley Harriott.
The BBC has announced that the dancing competition will be taking place at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom halfway through the series once again.
