Philip Waley is an award-winning producer who has been working in the Film and Television Industry for over 30 years.
Waley from a young age wanted to get in to the film industry. He got his first job as a runner aged 13 on a TV Commercial fro British Caledonian Airways. He worked every possible opportunity he had ranging from TV news to commercials to post production. He went to Film School in Dorset England where he achieved BA Hons in Media Production. His first real job was in-fact in the commercial industry where he produced hundred of commercials worldwide and won a Silver Lion at Cannes. His aim was always to do features but like many commercials was a great place to start. He left the commercial side of his career in style with a weeks shoot with Mclaren Formula One Team in Barcelona. He is a big F1 Fan. From there his career began in feature films and he has never looked back.
Waley is the founder of Shaken Not Stirred Inc, a production company based in Los Angeles that actively engages in a diverse range of film and TV projects. He has had the pleasure of working with major studios such as Legendary, Warner Bros, Fox, Netflix, Lionsgate, Sony, and Universal. Some of his recent movies include Den of Thieves 2, To Leslie, The Red Sea Diving Resort, The Machine, Escape Room 2, The Nun, The Empty Man, Columbus Circle, Solomon Kane, Jumper, Hostel 1 & 2, Pink Panther amongst others.
Within Shaken Not Stirred Philip Waley are working on developing a variety of project of varying Genres. He is collaborating with his old friend George Gallo on and action Comedy in the vein of Midnight run which Gallo will write and direct. Oblivio a psychological thriller, and a TV Series based on the game "Scion" with Jenkins and Tate a UK company that he is part owner of.
In the midst of the Covid Crisis in 2020, he produced the indie feature film To Leslie, unveiling the story of a lottery winner who has squandered her winnings. Described as a 'sad, sweet country song of a movie, with a steel-guitar twang of love and loss,' the movie brought Andrea Riseborough an Academy Award nomination for the lead role of Leslie.
Philip Waley is the Executive Producer on the action thriller Den of Thieves 2, featuring renowned actors Gerard Butler and O'Shea Jackson, which filmed in the Canary Islands. The Movie is produced by Tooley Entertainment and Lionsgate. He just completed a Blumhouse/Universal film with Malcolm D Lee Directing in Cape Town staring Chloe Bailey, Lucien Laviscount and Lynn Whitfield.
Within the television realm, Philip Waley has produced acclaimed works such as Joan of Arc for the Hallmark Channel, The Genius of Mozart for BBC Television, and several episodes of the award-winning series The Amazing Race. He has also served as a producer for the original Netflix series Best Worst Weekend Ever.
Waley maintains active memberships in both the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the Producers Guild of America (PGA)
