During a recent appearance on “The Bulwark” podcast, Mark Cuban revealed he was invited to submit himself for consideration to become former Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate in the 2024 presidential election. However, the “Shark Tank” star, an outward supporter of the Harris campaign, turned the offer down.
Interviewer Tim Miller opened the segment by prefacing that he had heard rumors at MSNBC that Cuban was tapped to join Harris on the campaign trail.
“There was some green room gossip at MSNBC,” Miller said. “I wouldn’t tell you this if it wasn’t pretty good. Somebody I kind of trust said that they asked you to send in VP vetting papers and you said, ‘No, the list would be too long.’ Is that true?”
Cuban confirmed the rumors to be true and elaborated on his decision to bow out of the race.

A couple years ago, Spider One – the frontman of Powerman 5000 and the brother of fellow musician/filmmaker Rob Zombie – made his feature directorial debut with the horror anthology Allegoria. Last year, his second feature – a horror film called Bury the Bride – was released through the Tubi streaming service. His third film, which is called Little Bites, recently secured a worldwide distribution deal through Rlje Films and the Shudder streaming service – and, having received a theatrical and VOD release in October, Little Bites is now set to start streaming on Shudder as of February 21st!
Written and directed by Spider One, Little Bites centers on Mindy, a young widow and mother who tries to protect her daughter Alice from a flesh eating monster named Agyar. Mindy has been secretly sacrificing her own life by allowing the creature to feast on her body as she keeps Alice hidden away at her grandmother’s house.

Update: Pete Hegseth had a number of tense exchanges with Democratic Senators at his confirmation hearing today, providing for some viral moments, but Republicans signaled their support for the former Fox News host to lead the Pentagon.
A key vote is Sen. Joni Ernst (R-ia), who had expressed some hesitation to back Donald Trump’s pick as news emerged of a settlement with a woman who accused Hegseth of sexual assault.
One of Ernst’s central concerns has been the prevalence of sexual assault in the military. Hegseth told her that he would appoint a senior level official dedicated to sexual assault prevention and response, and she didn’t indicate opposition to his nomination.
Democrats seized on the hearing to highlight Hegseth’s lack of experience leading an organization anywhere near the size of the Pentagon.

Donald Trump will soon start his second term as president. Don’t expect a strong opposition party or healthy “resistance” movement this time, at least not in Washington during the “shock and awe” start of his new administration. With 10 days before the president-elect is sworn in, Democrats in Congress are already capitulating to Trump harder than virtually anyone expected — and Republicans are ecstatic over the degree to which Trump and the GOP’s wins have “paralyzed” the Democratic elite.

The American South is a hot mess of cultural contradictions, and while those contradictions have stoked the dumpster fire of U.S. politics for a couple of centuries, they also happen to be fueling some of the best music being made right now. And to be sure, the story of rock in 2024 is largely a story of Southern rock, in both classic-rock and indie-rock denominations.

Marta Kauffman didn’t think twice about signing on as a co-host for Cooking for Kamala, a fundraiser for the vice president featuring an “intimate dinner” designed by celebrity chef Nancy Silverton. The evening, set for Sept. 14 in Los Angeles, includes an appearance by Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona.
“Nancy is my neighbor and I may have been the first person she asked to come,” the “Friends” and “Grace and Frankie” co-creator says. “She simply said, ‘Would you do this with me?’ and I immediately said, ‘Yes!’”
While Kauffman is optimistic that Harris will win the White House, she’s also staying cautious after having watched Hillary Clinton lose to Donald Trump in 2016.
“I got complacent and thought, ‘You know, all the polls say it’s going to be Hillary,” Kauffman recalls. “And this is going to be a tight race. Now is when we have to start doing everything we can — sending postcards,...

What goes on during the commercial break? That is a question late night show fans have always asked. In Jimmy Fallon's case, it appears as though The Tonight Show might be better off-camera. Fallon shared a snippet of his interview during the commercial break with Jerry Seinfeld, and it did not disappoint as the two took questions from the audience.
It seems like Stephen Colbert is just as entertaining. During his breaks, Colbert keeps things interactive with his audience and takes on questions of his own. In this particular moment, Stephen was asked about his nemesis, Donald Trump. Given that the show wasn't airing, Colbert issued quite the response and one that would have never made it on the air with CBS. Let's recap what went down, and more.

Stephen Colbert has been a busy man, between hosting The Late Show and attending the DNC. He's the most politically minded of the late night hosts, of course, so it was a balanced the comedian had a fun time pulling off.
The upcoming week will see Colbert get back into his Late Show groove, though, and he's booked an impressive roster of guests. Monday, September 2, will see the host converse with Pete Buttigieg, the US Secretary of Transportation, about the upcoming Presidential election.

The plot revolves around a widower and mother who, to protect her daughter from a flesh-eating monster, sacrifices her own body by letting the creature feed off of her. Meanwhile, she keeps her daughter hidden far away at her grandmother’s.

Exclusive: If all goes to plan, America and the world will know in the next few hours who Kamala Harris has picked to be her running mate against Donald Trump and J.D. Vance. However, in the corridors of Hollywood power and money, an overwhelming favorite choice has emerged.
“Josh Shapiro,” one agency executive declares in a statement echoed around town today. “Pennsylvania wins the election,” the exec promptly added of why the Keystone Stone state’s governor would be the best fit for the Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee’s just over two-week-long White House bid in a still tight Electoral College battle with Trump.
With the Veep decision coming down to the wire ahead of the Democrats’ convention in Chicago starting on August 19, Gov. Shapiro, along with Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota and Sen. Mark Kelly (D-az), individually met with the vice president over the weekend at her official residence near DC.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday made his first public appearance since ending his bid for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination over the weekend.
In a televised address from the Oval Office, Biden framed his decision to step aside as a matter of protecting democracy. “I revere this office, but I love my country more. It’s been the honor of my life to serve as your President, but in the defense of democracy, which is at stake, I think it is more important than any title,” said the president.

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe Monday, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear ripped into Sen. J.D. Vance, who former President Trump has selected to be his running mate. Vance, who framed himself as a child of Appalachian Kentucky in his best-selling memoir Hillbilly Elegy, does not speak for that community, Beshear argued.
“I want the American people to know what a Kentuckian is and what they look like,” Beshear told the MSNBC hosts. “Because let me just tell you that J.D. Vance ain’t from here.”
If it sounded like a stump speech, that might not be a coincidence. In the days since President Biden announced his plans to end his reelection bid and put his support behind Harris, Morning Joe has become the platform of choice for those in the mix to be Harris’ VP nominee.

Exclusive: Vice President Kamala Harris has emerged among Hollywood donors as the top successor to head the Democratic ticket as calls for Joe Biden to step aside intensify, with a caveat.
“Kamala Harris has put in the work, she’s the obvious choice for sure,” a longtime contributor to the party and various presidential contenders says of the VP.
“Can you imagine a former prosecutor up against a crook like Trump, she’d rip him apart,” another Hollywood supporter said, noting Harris’ past stints as San Francisco D.A. and California’s Attorney General.
“She had a rocky first couple of years, but Harris is a real team player and out there getting a great reaction on reproductive rights,” says a producer who was a big donor to Harris’ short-lived 2020 White House bid and both the 2020 and 2024 Democratic tickets.

President Joe Biden’s stumbling, confused, and disjointed performance on the CNN debate stage Thursday threw back the curtain on an issue his campaign, the White House, and allies have long attempted to convince the public isn’t true: that he’s too old. Democratic Gov. It is believed that the notion of multiple realities is founded upon the principles of dichotomy found in symmetry. While different realities, which are alternate versions of each other, share a number of similarities in some of their fundamental principles, some random acts and events differ from each other in both major and minor ways. After all, the varying possible outcomes of a single incident and how that triggers further changes are the core precepts of multiverse theory.
As a thrilling cosmic sci-fi series, Apple TV+’s Constellation aimed to focus on the intriguing concept of alternate realities with a strong emotional undertone. The series excelled in doing so by highlighting the relationship dynamics between astronaut Jo Ericsson and her daughter Alice (and an alternate version of her), but the series’ most complex, poignant commentary on duality in uniformity is shaped through the study of character duo Bud Caldera and...

Reporters pressed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on whether he plans to run for president today, as he made a visit to Capitol Hill to meet with senators.
At a photo op with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Johnson was asked, “Are you running for president?” and “Do you plan to run for president?” But he did not answer.
Last week, Johnson said on Trevor Noah’s What Now? podcast, “At the end of the year . . . in 2022 I got a visit from the parties, asking me if I was going to run and if I could run,” Johnson said. “It was a big deal. And it came out of the blue. And it was one after the other.”

There’s a self-defeating argument I’ve often heard used to explain the state of gun violence in this country. It goes something like this: If we couldn’t change things after 20 first-graders were murdered at Sandy Hook, what hope is there now?
I understand the impulse to give in to cynicism and despair. I also don’t think it serves anyone to ignore the facts. It’s true that gun violence has reached epidemic proportions. In 2021, nearly 50,000 Americans died from gun violence, and tens of thousands more were injured...

The leak of the planned deal on April 2 “should ease investor skepticism concerning Vince McMahon’s seriousness about selling the company,” emphasized Wolfe Research analyst Peter Supino in a report written before the official deal announcement.

The couple celebrated the news Friday that Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly had been re-elected to his first full term representing Arizona, winning a tight contest with Republican Blake Masters. That bulletin was followed by the announcement today that CNN will premiere Gabby Giffords Won’t Back Down, the acclaimed documentary about the former Congresswoman, next Sunday, November 20.
The film from Oscar nominees Julie Cohen and Betsy West, documents Giffords’ arduous rehabilitation from a near-fatal shooting in January 2011, a tragic event that stopped her ascent as a rising star in the Democratic Party.
