Promise Agbor

Promise Agbor is a young, talented actor and beat boxer who is indeed crafting a name for himself in the entertainment industry.
He hails from Ikom local government in Cross River State and is based in Lagos, Nigeria.
From a young age, he was drawn to the arts and loved to perform, he discovered he had an interest in acting very early in life. At age 6 he remembers imitating actors he saw in movies, mostly action stars and was often cheered by people around. His interest however was solidified in secondary school when he discovered the joy and freedom that he felt when he found his ability to express characters freely while participating in his school's drama club.
Although, prior to this he wanted to be a lot of things including a journalist, a footballer and an auto engineer, he however made up his mind during secondary school be an actor and went on to acquire a BA in theatre and media studies in the year 2017, from the University of Calabar, it was the only way to further explore parts of himself that he had discovered while playing characters at a young age.
During his school days it was not all sunlight and flowers and he did face some challenges In his first year but he soon adapted to the rules of the theatre and was able to actualize his goal.
He ended up majoring in acting and acted in various stage plays, such as ; A man for all seasons, Langbodo, Widows might and The two noble kinsmen among others. When he graduated in 2017 he volunteered and auditioned for stage plays and film productions available in Calabar until he moved to Lagos in 2020, where he enrolled in a 3 month Acting for screen course at the prestigious Ebonylife Creative Academy, under the tutelage of Drikus Volschenk.
During his time at the academy he bagged a lead role in one of the final projects "The Samaritan" and was nominated for the award of best actor in a leading role.
After graduating from the academy he has been involved in various short films and YouTube series.
His notable projects at the time of this write up include; The Night Of June 7th, To Kill A Monkey and 48 hours
Promise has so many role models he admires in the movie industry. A few of which include; Gabriel Afolanya, Nse Ikpe Etim, Stella Damascus, Al Pacino, Daniel Dey Lewis, Leonardo Di Caprio and Denzel Washington, among others.
He also has a very notable hobby which is beat boxing
It's was just a hobby which he took seriously which led him to participate in talent hunt competitions.
As a beat boxer he won the dare2dream talent show and a trip to Switzerland, The Calabar talent hunt and came "Top 16 in the African Roar beat box battle"
Promise Agbor has the dream of becoming one of the best actors in the world, he hopes to project a positive image for Nigeria. His contribution to the world would be to add value to people everywhere and bringing to life characters that people can relate with and learn lessons about life with a hopeful end result for positive change.
