At least one Republican senator has serious doubts about Donald Trump’s chances to win in 2024. Sen. Bill Cassidy said that he believes the former president “cannot win a general election.”

“During the last election cycle, we saw in all the swing states, almost all — Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Arizona — that the candidates for Senate that Trump endorsed all lost,” Cassidy said on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday. “If you had taken the votes that went to other Republicans and put them together, those Republicans would have won.

Anthony Anderson is attached to star in a comedy series in development at Amazon titled “Miraculous,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Per the official logline, the single-camera show would center “on a happily amoral car salesman (Anderson) who one day, for no particular good reason, walks on water. A miracle of God might just be the worst thing to happen to him in his life.”

The project hails from writer and executive producer Blake Masters, with Anderson set to executive produce in addition to starring. The mood out of Hollywood has been celebratory following Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock’s win over Republican challenger Herschel Walker in Tuesday’s Georgia runoff election, the last high-profile outstanding race from the 2022 midterm elections.

Actors from Mark Ruffalo to Rosario Dawson and Kerry Washington cheered the victory, which gives Democrats an outright majority in the Senate for the remainder of President Joe Biden’s first term. Despite being touted as an impressive streaming performer, Sneaky Pete has been given the axe from Amazon.

Sneaky Pete was unable to grift itself another season on Amazon Prime Video, which has canceled the series.

The series, the co-creation of Bryan Cranston and David Shore, launched on the streaming platform on August 7, 2015. It starred Giovanni Ribisi as Marius Josipovic, a smart, seedy con man who, initially upon his release from prison, dodges a debt to a dangerous gangster (Cranston) by posing as his cellmate, Pete Murphy, using all the stories he’s been told to ingratiate himself to the Bernhardts, Pete’s long-estranged Connecticut-based family, who run a bail bonds business. Sneaky Pete couldn’t sneak his way into another season: Amazon has cancelled the Giovanni Ribisi-led con man drama after three seasons, our sister site Variety reports.

Amazon has opted not to order a fourth season of drama series Sneaky Pete.

For the most recent third season, which debuted May 10, production moved from New York to California with $9.2 million worth of Golden State tax credits. For Season 3, Blake Masters joined as new executive producer/showrunner, while executive producers Graham Yost, Fred Golan and Michael Dinner exited.

Created by Bryan Cranston and David Shore, Sneaky Pete starred Emmy nominee Giovanni Ribisi as con man Marius, who left prison only to find himself hunted by the vicious gangster he once robbed. With nowhere else to turn, he took cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate Pete, “reuniting” with Pete’s estranged family.

The series was primarily set in upstate New York, with much of the action also in and around New York City. It also starred Marin Ireland, Margo Martindale, Peter Gerety, Libe Barer, and Shane McRae.

Amazon has ordered a third season of “Sneaky Pete.”

Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke made the announcement at the TCA summer press tour on Saturday. The official renewal was a foregone conclusion, given that it was announced in March that the series would receive a California tax credit as it relocates its production from New York.

Exclusive: There will be no second miraculous renewal for USA Network’s supernatural thriller drama Falling Water. The cable network has opted not to order a third season of the series, from the late Henry Bromell, Brotherhood creator Blake Masters, The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

For two seasons, Falling Water has been USA’s lowest-rated series in linear ratings, averaging 461,000 viewers and 0.14 adults 18-49 rating in Live+Same Day in Season 1 and slipping to 349,000 viewers and a 0.09 in Season 2.

Based on its linear ratings, Falling Water should’ve been canceled after the first season. But Its dense mythology, solid 30% L+3 DVR gains and steady viewership during Season 1 made the series a solid binge prospect for a streaming service. It was taken out and landed a deal with Amazon for exclusive Svod rights. The pact helped secure a Season 2 renewal by USA.

The USA Network drama starring Lizzie Brochere (American Horror Story: Asylum) aired for two seasons and will not be back for a third, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The series hailed from creators Blake Masters (Brotherhood) and the late Henry Bromwell (Homeland), who died in 2013. Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) executive produced the drama, which was a passion project for Bromwell before his death.
