Leroy Nguyen is an American film director, actor, writer, editor, and fight choreographer. He is best known for the semi-autobiographical fictionalized short film One Last Rumble (2009), video game short fan-film Shenmue: Yokosuka Blues (2018), and his neo-noir feature film debut Black Scar Blues (2017). Born in Alexandria, VA, Leroy began making films at the age of 17, where he began taking inspiration from Hong Kong action films, particularly the work of Jackie Chan. Since then, Leroy has strived to create films achieving a balance between grounded impactful action scenes with compelling and authentic human drama and characters.
