Received 4 National Headliner Awards, The Gabriel Award and The Sigma Delta Chi Award.

Received a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Eastern Kentucky University.

In 2016 he was named the "2016 Journalist of the Year" by the National Association of Black Journalists.
