Stephan Taubert was born on May 22, 1988 in Leipzig. As a teenager he wrote short sci-fi stories and short novels. At the age of 16, he interrupted school and spent a year in England as an exchange student attending high school there. There he attended a media course and the film fever woke up with him. In English lessons he and his comrades read the play An Inspector Calls (2006) by John B. Priestley, which became his first film the following year. He produced the film without a big budget, but it was still a great success, which resulted in more films. In 2007 followed Die verlorene Tochter (2007), also after a play by John B. Priestley. 2009 followed Isabells Traum (2009), which was planned as a fantasy film, but was not particularly successful in the cinema premiere. In 2010, in addition to the short film Der letzte Tanz (2010), the drama Sieben Nächte am See (2010) was also featured, in which he played the role of David Neumann, a young man who suffers a severe trauma and only as an older man with his Daughter can handle. The older David Neumann was played by his father, with whom he appeared in several of his films together. In 2011 he published Aus dem Tagebuch eines Vaters (2011), the sequel to Sieben Nächte am See (2010), with which he also celebrated the fifth anniversary of his first film. Although the role of David Neumann was over after two films, it has always been one of his favorite parts. In 2011 also appeared Am seidenen Faden (2011) in which he played the first time a villain. The film was not quite as successful as Aus dem Tagebuch eines Vaters (2011), but was well received by the audience and later on YouTube a big hit. Am seidenen Faden (2011) was also the first film that ran in 2013 on local Leipzig television. In 2012, he shot Patricia (2012), a family drama that also got on well with the audience. In 2013 a lot changed and his film Schatten der Vergangenheit (2013) was not nearly as successful as he had hoped. Together with this flop and the quite well on DVD running documentary Discovering the West! Entdecken Sie Amerika! (2013) it was time for a break, a creative pause. Only in 2015, after one and a half years, came a new film with a completely new direction: The thriller comedy Cast me! Die Show ihres Lebens (2015) in which he played a burned out killer, who meets a presenter and wants to become the star of her talent show. The film was a great success and brought his film series back to the right track. Then came in 2015, the short film No Smoking! Kein Rauch ohne Feuer (2015). In 2016, the big and most successful highlight was Die Macht der Träume (2016). With this film, he celebrated the tenth anniversary of his film series and told the true story of a young actor who is paraplegic after a riding accident and wants to learn to walk again and that of a young girl who suffers from depression. Die Macht der Träume (2016) was his most successful and best movie so far. By this year, 2016, he had already produced 13 feature films at the age of 28, in which he also worked as a writer, actor and director. After the great success, it was time again for a creative break. The filming of Die Macht der Träume (2016) was long and exhausting, sometimes there were big problems with the shoot, but they were all solved. But the movie's success was overwhelming and made him very happy. To take a break, he started to travel and in 2017 made a short documentary about Rome entitled Rom - Die ewige Stadt (2017).
