Anupama Bose(I)

Anupama Bose is a Producer - Professor of Film - Curator. Her filmography includes 'Joram' as Producer - directed by Devashish Makhija and bankrolled by Zee Studios. and 'Pokhar Ke Dunu Paar' aka 'On Either Side of the Pond' as Executive Producer - directed by Parth Saurabh in the same year. The former had its World Premiere in IFFR, Rotterdam's Big Screen Competition and the latter premiered and won a Special Mention (Jury) at San Sebastian. Other films as Executive Producer include Bhaskar Hazarika's cult genre bender 'Aamis' aka 'Ravening' and the character comedy 'Ghumketu' directed by Pushpinder Singh starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap. She has been a Professor of Film (Producing) for more than a decade now and is also a Member of the Academic Council for the Department of Producing at SRFTI, Kolkata. She curated and produced Knowledge Series and Producers Workshop from 2014-2018 at NFDC's Film Bazaar - Goa , bringing in a consistent approach of predicting trends and discussing with experts from evolved international ecosystems the way forward on building and nurturing Indie Cinema in the subcontinent. As the Artistic Director, Jio MAMI Year Round Programme 2023 she brought in her vision of outreach, skill enhancement, enhancing ecosystem and community building . Some of the programs she set up and did hugely successful season 1s of include the Colorist Workshop (with GMM & Film Independent) , the Jio MAMI Select - Filmed on the iPhone by such amazing young filmmakers such as Prateek Vats, Faraz Ali, Saurabh Rai, Archana Phadke and Soumendra Sahi mentored by leading Indian filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj, Vikramaditya Motwane and Rohan Sippy and reimagined versions of the MAMI Film Critics' Workshop and the options market Books to Screen. She hopes, as Associate Director, Tasveer Film Market, Seattle, to explore and help facilitate creative collaborations across the South Asian filmmaking community. As a producer and curator her focus is on expanding the scope of creation and distribution of the indie in their countries of origin and across the globe. A dream that started with her stint as COO-MovieSaints. She hopes to nurture it further at Tasveer. She feels that it all starts with that rumble in the stomach, the hunger to address a concern.. creative, social or personal. So when in doubt she cooks! & runs a home that is an open kitchen!
