In Direction, Raquel Troyano made her directorial debuts with the short film Pulse O and the feature film El Pomo Azul, both receiving renowned selections and awards. By the end of 2019, she established herself in the industry as a director with her second feature film, for which she was also the screenwriter. The documentary film Una Mañana Fría won the "Best National Feature Film" award at the 28th Madrid Film Festival, the Atresmedia - Ponle Freno Award, and the Medal of Merit from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, among others. In 2024, she directed the short film La Paz de los Cementerios, which is currently in distribution with significant selections in Goya and Oscar-qualifying festivals, having already won over 12 awards. She is currently co-producing what will be her third fiction feature film, El Pescador del Tajo.
She has worked as an Art Director for more than 12 years, with over 25 short films, commercials, and music videos. She made her international debut as a Production Designer in 2018 with the Spanish-Moroccan period coproductions Palestina and Lalla Aicha. In 2020, she worked on the international series Glow & Darkness, in 2022 on the feature film Un largo viaje, and in 2024 on the productions La Boda and the series Alerta. She is currently immersed in developing the creative universe for the biopic of the music group Mago de Oz, an international co-production set to be filmed in 2025.
Additionally, she combines her creative work with education, serving as the Director of the Master's in Art Direction at The Core (Grupo Secuoya with the support of Netflix) and as a professor at other universities such as TAI and MADS.
