Zelipa Zulu, wrote her first feature film, Blues for Azania - a poignant story of a Zimbabwean illegal immigrant trying to make it in South Africa. This film was a co-write between her and Mfundi Vundla of Morula Pictures.

From 2008 to 2009, Zelipa worked as a writer and story liner on the award winning show, Generations. From the end of 2009-2016, Zelipa Zulu worked as writer and storyliner on the award winning youth targeted drama series; Rhythm City. Rhythm City was a South African musical drama series produced by Quizzical Pictures. It is an e.tv original production that premiered on the country's free-to-air television channel e.tv on 9 July 2007 to 16 July 2021 as a replacement for the now-defunct youth-targeted soap opera. From 2016 to July 2021, Zelipa Zulu went on to serve as Head Writer for Rhythm City, leading a writing team included acclaimed writers such as Darrel Bristow-Bovey and Craig Freimond. Under Zeli Zulu's guidance, the show grew in audience ratings, share and popularity. The show Performed the best it ever had, since 2012 with an average of just over 4 million daily viewers. In the last four years, the show has been nominated for 13 SAFTAs and secured 5 wins, 2 of which include best TV Soapie.

In 2015-2016, Zelipa Zulu created Ingozi, an advertiser funded drama series for Word Of Mouth Productions. The show spanned over two seasons on SABC 1. It ranked second in ratings and audience share across all SABC channels. In 2019 Zelipa Zulu and Kelton Sinyosi, a fellow writer got together and formed Magic Drum Films. They co created, co executive produced and co wrote "Omen" a 13 part supernatural television series for Showmax and Mzansi Magic which aired on the 5th January 2020 to 29th March 2020. The show ranked in the top 4 most watched shows across the channel.

Other shows that Zelipa Zulu has worked on include Mnet's The Wild, Mzansi Magic's The Road, Isibaya, Isithembiso and Lockdown. SABC's Uzalo, Mamello, Muvhango and political drama, 90 Plein Street. Zelipa Zulu also worked on the country's first telenovela; Inkaba as scriptwriter and storyliner. Zelipa Zulu current writing credits include as storyliner and writer for SABC Makoti and Entangled a Burnt Onion Productions and it will be broadcast on Mzansi Magic TX March 2021.

Zelipa Zulu was Co-head writer on Wounds an M-Net original medical drama, created by Penguin Films and based on a concept by Theltom Masimila.

Zelipa Zulu was a consultant on Triggerfish projects included soon to be released Witches Way and Tonko in 2022.

Zelipa Zulu's Netflix debut, Blood Sisters an original four part limited series co written with Craig Freimond produced by Nigerian Mo Abudu EbonyLife Studios is set for global release in January 2022.
