The word "Ilunga" comes from the Tshiluba (Congo Valley) language and means a person who can forgive a wrong done to them the first time, tolerate it the second time, but never the third. The two main characters are a couple, coming from a small town where they cannot find their place. Both are artistic souls, which heightens the strong emotions in their complicated relationship. Kuba is the dominant character, but really more important for the plot is his girlfriend Hania and the moment when he decides to say "enough".
