Venezuelan Director/Cinematographer Gerard Uzcategui, Graduated from film school in 2007 at the Universidad De Los Andes. In 2001 he attended the New York Film Academy workshops. His short films as a director/cinematographer, have been in official selections in many class A International film festivals, such as Montreal World Film Festival, and Mar del Plata International Film Festival, The Guadalajara International Film Festival, among others. In 2013 Gerard won best cinematography in Rhode Island International Film Festival and won the Jury Award in the Austin International Film Festival of the Americas, both with his short film "La Noche Anuncia La Aurora".
In 2015, he was selected to participate in the "Berlinale Talents -Camera Studio-" held during the 65th Berlin International film festival.
He is one of the founding members of the Venezuelan Society of Cinematography (SVC). As a cinematographer he has participated in more than 20 feature-length films (narrative and documentary), and has received numerous awards as best cinematography: Moscow International Documentary Film Festival 2015, Atlantidoc 2014, Festival del Cine Venezolano 2015 and in 2017, and many more in Venezuela and abroad...
