Inside Out 2 (2024)

Joy and anxiety in a rap battle
9 December 2024
Inside out 2 is amazing. I love Inside out 2 came out and has changed many things.

The first film didn't make sense on the basis that "It's A Kids MOvie". But here's the thing. It's not because little kids can only feel 5 main emotions but so can the adults? I'm so confuse.

Inside out 2 has Reily who's turned into a teen and now she will join the Hockey League. With that is emotions that are not only have spawned but have been exacerbated. Envy, Anxiety, Boredom, Embarrassment. This is so relatable because All those emotions get so much bigger when you become a teenager. My envy got increased when I was 12 because I saw jerks get their way. Boredom happened because I desired for more in life. Embarrassment got even worse as expectations increased. And Anxiety. Anxiety is the definition of adolescence. Your heart sinks as a find out the consequences of your actions.

Inside Reilly's mind you get literal depictions of metaphors for stuff that interests and disinterests her. This is all hilarious. The setting is abstract but spelt out enough for people to understand her own inner workings of her head. Her functions. Having crushes on video game characters. Liking shows meant for preschoolers.

Reilly, joins the hockey league but wants to have red hair like her mature idols so she tries to act all hipster. All her other emotions take back stage for the new ones. Except Nostalgia. You can't be here yet, you're too old!

Anxiety is chief of Reilly's life. But let's be real if you where really a teen Envy would just be there ANGRILY wanting things by tossing her joy ball in the dump of the back of her mind. Now Joy must save her joy ball before Reily ruins her life with teen drama.

Overall I think Inside out 2 is a worthy successor. It's the same plot line as the original but with a twist.
