N my goal to watch a movie from every country in the world , this time i looked for a film from Honduras and I found El Paletero which means street seller or in this case Ice Cream seller .
This particular ice cream salesman is out for revenge for the death of his mother. His mission is to recover her ashes from a group of dangerous cartel members.
To say this film is camp is an understatement. It's mostly a comedy ( I think ) but it also has quite a high level of action and not very good action at that .
The acting is pretty amateurish and the special affects are mostly cheap but once you realise that the whole film is going to be like that , it's quite entertaining in its own charming way.
It is described as a western in the garb but it doesn't feel like one . If anything it feels like a Honduran version on the Power Rangers but with blood . It has the naff acting , the terrible choreographed fight scenes and it's definitely as colourful but it won't be winning any awards outside of Honduras !
