Trivia
The piano sonata of the movie's soundtrack was recorded and performed in Ingmar Bergman's instrument. The composer João McDowell was working on an opera based on "Cries and Whispers" during his residency at Ingmar Bergman's estate in the Island of Fårö. At the same time he was composing Desabafo/Outburst's soundtrack.

With another actor and smaller segments it could have worked better

There are nice elements in this film, which deals decently (but not greatly) with issues such as elitism, poverty and (very strongly in the two last segments) mysoginy. However, it looks more like theater than cinema, the actor Fernando Alves Pinto is very bad (it is amazing how we can understand only 50% of his lines) and the text is a little boring: it woukd work better as a short film, with three nuch smaller segments.
