I really tried to like this film. I really did. It had a few positives that were shining points, But in the end there were so many blatant missteps that couldn't save it. First, the good: Visuals (encompassing VFX, cinematography, etc); The film was beautiful. That's probably the most positive thing it had going for it. The visual effects were great for what the budget was, the camera work was good, although I feel like shots were thrown in just to look cool rather than visually tell a story, the aesthetic of the world was great. The film was a pleasure to look at.
Sound: the sound design was another high point. The different sounds that powers made was enthralling and reeled you in, The music was beautiful and made sense where it did. Something constantly overlooked in indie film but this one did it right.
Concept: The concept is something I could really be interested in if it was done right. A film that's basically set in the X-men universe with a Mortal Kombat meets hunger games competition? Sign me up!
Now for the bad: Script (dialogue/pacing): By far the most glaring issue right away. This was OBVIOUSLY "adapted" from a comic book, and I use the word "adapted" loosely because it feels like the exposition laced dialogue was just ripped from A comic book and not changed to make it more natural or realistic in spoken word. You can tell the actors were struggling to do what they could. As for pacing the film felt, somehow, dragging and rushed all at once. Way too much time spent on things that weren't necessary, way too little time to focus on actual interesting happenings.
Fight scenes: By far some of the worst fight scenes I've ever seen put to film that wasn't done in a pre teen backyard fighting choreography YouTube video. Every single fight with the exception of the fight between the only human characters was sloppy, painfully executed AND choreographed, stiff as drywall, and consistently interrupted LITERALLY mid-fight (as in in the middle of an attack) to exposit just a little more.
Performances: a few of the lead characters did fine with what they were given but some of the people that I've noticed are constantly used in this directors films just shouldn't be. There is an extreme lack of talent among people that seem to have the most lines which is kind of mind blowing. The fact that easily the best performance of the film is given by a character that has less than 4 lines should give you all you need.
Conclusion: I REALLY hope that the production of this film was just a case of no one having the stones to tell the director that some of this stuff just doesn't work out of fear of getting canned rather than everyone involved just being terrible, but the film has very little high points. It's a slog to get through that makes its relatively short length surprising and I hope to whatever higher power there is that the next film addressed the issues of this one, namely getting someone on board to refine the script and take it out of the comic book panel dialogue it's locked into. If not, at least let it have some entertaining fights that don't look like 5 year olds are the ones designing them.

This film would have been great with a better script and more talented actors.
I'm a huge fan of fantasy and dystopian thrillers so this should have been a hit for me. Unfortunately while the world created is interesting, we only get snippets of how they got into this situation and it's only through talking. This could've been expanded a little, along with the back stories of the fighters. I was never really invested in any of the characters as I didn't know any of them.
The dialogue between fighters was unbelievable and there was no chemistry between any of them. It was all rather wooden.
Likewise there were a few good fight scenes but the majority looked more like dancing than fighting.
The dress was almost as laughable as the script.
I really wanted to like this but it was a huge no. I'm embarrassed I made it to the end.

This looked like a decent holiday afternoon movie on Amazon Prime. Was seriously disappointed. Just underwhelming, boring fight scenes that lacked cohesion. No real story or compelling character development to keep up the interest. Acting was terrible. Couldn't really see what was going on. It was so monotonous that me and my partner nodded off part the way through. Worst of all, no pay-off for the time invested. After persevering through all the lesser fights, the movie ended abruptly on a ridiculous cliff-hanger.
I enjoy most movies and have watched/tolerated a number of bad ones - this however is awful; really, really awful.
Don't bother, dust the house, clear the loft - 2 more enjoyable ways of spending a few hours.

Did anyone bother to write a script? did they just throw a bunch of out-takes into a computer and add badly filtered graphics... look, whatever, I don't care. If this is the film makers legacy then obviously neither do they. The ONLY reward this piece of dross gave me was allowing me to press STOP.
But in the back of my mind I walk away wondering what Eric Roberts thought when he said yes to this... it's not good.

It's a low budget movie that they didn't even finish. It ends right when it was about to gain momentum it ended. Graphics and storyline were worse than SNES Shaqfu. I imagine the sequel will be even worse. WTF did I watch?

Horrible: Script, production, directing, camera angles, set's, graphics (really were none), choreography (fight scenes really sucked), and entire concept. I gave it 4 stars cause even though the acting seemed bad, they did what they could with what they had.
Bad editing, rushed dialogue, poor grafx. I'm a huge fan on the genre but this plays out like a cosplay fan flick that went from vlogs to no-earning investment.
Wtf did I just watch. I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch this film if that's what you want to call it. It was so bad I just part of my life I can't get back I wasted. Just when it starts getting any kind of goodness it ended. It just pointless watching it I skipped through most of it in hope it would get better but no such luck it was dark and dreary all the way through

An actual horrible movie. Would not recommend we purposely bought the second movie just to see how HORRIBLE it would be. And our predictions were correct, that movie sucked. I had no idea what was going on in the movie, it was everywhere but the storyline. Like pick a line and stick to it for more that 3 minutes. Oh my lord, watching a rock for an hour is better than this movie. I really would not watch it, it's fighting scenes you could see the people barely touching each other. Would not watch.

The acting is flat and lacks feeling. The actors express no real emotion. I can't believe anyone would print this and sell this...and I'm sad that I actually bought it. The cover of the DVD looked good. This movie proves that you can't judge a book (or DVD) by it's cover

I first looked at the dvd cover and it looked awesome. I then saw the trailer and thought it looked awful. Now that I watched the movie, its an ok movie for it being a confusing, non-story movie.
I dislike movies that don't tell a story or develop characters because I get confused and bored throughout the movie.
Again this movie was ok for a boring movie.
The acting and the girl doing the audio voice were horrible. The effects were good enough for a budget. The costumes were great.
Not a movie I recommend at all.

Where do I begin,
to start many of the lines feel, forced and choppy. Almost as if they were voiced over after they were done recording the footage. Also, I watched with headphones in and the whole movie there was a deep thrumming humm in the background which continued to be distracting.
The acting in the movie was not the worst I have ever seen, but it was hard to track the emotions of the characters. There were supposedly "intense" moments where a character would change emotions so quickly, I was not sure if I was supposed to feel bad for them or not.
The lighting in the movie also was not great. I understand mood lighting and using darkness to portray seriousness or dramatic moments, but this movie is so dark, its is really hard to tell what is happening.
Overall this movie had a really interesting idea, but just could not deliver.

Don't waste your time watching this poor excuse for a movie. Go and watch paint dry, that is much more entertaining than this.

Throw a bunch of chimps in an editing room with a bunch of film footage and this is what you get.

Where does one even start with this movie? Conceptually this should have been a decent movie. However, the script is all but absent. The acting is horrible. The fight scenes are laughable, and special effects are down right abysmal.

Fun film that takes you to a world w several unique interesting comic book characters. Strong female representation , girls that just kick butt! Slick soundtrack and a cool original song. Lots of things from low budget indie film that are usually found in big budget films on the technical side. Unique cool visuals and a set up to move onto a larger , grander sequel. Most indie films arent perfect and this one strives to be large budget counterparts in film. Not just an action film but some social commentary is lightly touched on social inequality. A good guy vs bad guy film with definite good guys ( or gals in much of this film) to root for and some deliciously entertaining villains that many will want to be like in cosplay.

OMG for a Sci fi movie this has got to be the worst I have EVER seen specialy given the fact that the fights are supose to be between immortals with individual special powers not that you will be able to distinguish this from the fights as they are beyond LAME am guessing the budget was very small and so no CGI was available as you could not identify any powers Barr some flames and electricity waves! The concept had so much potential that was never realised the movie Limped through and only delivered boredom confusion and a big Fat WHY! I very generously gave it the 1 star for the audaciousness of the writer!
Really enjoyed watching this movie. Love the director that also wrote and put this movie together. Such an inspiring guy. Can't wait to see the sequel :D
