As in the original novel, the Mad Hatter's riddle, "How is a raven like a writing desk," has no answer. In later years, Lewis Carroll (grudgingly) provided an answer: "because the notes for which they are noted are not noted for being musical notes." Another popular answer is "because [Edgar Allan] Poe wrote on both."
The film's title is taken from the refrain of William Butler Yeat's poem "The Stolen Child" (1889). The poem itself is read aloud early in this film.
As Jack correctly tells his son, the Golden Hind was the first ship to circumnavigate the globe between 1577 and 1580. It was captained by Sir Francis Drake.
