I get the sentiments that this movie is trying to convey. But the delivery, especially in the last act of the film, was executed poorly.
It's a shame that an underrated talented actress (Isabelle Fuhrman), is wasted in a film that was written and directed by a hack (Deborah Kampmeier).
"Tape" wants to be a scream of vengeful rage that echoes down through the ages of abuse. But the film is best when it's simply recording one instance of it.
There's actually so much potential here, an excellent premise, a talented lead actress, yet it's all just kinda lost and the end result is a mess.
If you really want to see a #MeToo film where a female gets revenge on sick perverted men, I highly recommend "I Spit on Your Grave" (2010) and it's two sequels.

Okay I went into watching this believing it was going to be something like Starry Eyes (2014) but it's a very realistic, slightly unstable "me too" issue that struggling actors are subjected to. Sextortion in Hollywood. Slow pace and the male lead rambles about a lot of nonsense but I'm satisfied. Not an traditional entertaining watch but educational.

I'm really sorry to have to give a negative vote to a film denounced because I really sorry for the many girls who have undergone abuse and violence but unfortunately this film is really shot and written very badly not even the very good actress Isabelle Fuhman manages to give something more to the Film because if his part is written badly like the return of the film there is nothing to do there are terrible scenes especially at the end of the film in particular the audience of the audition and then the final scene should have thought about it a little more, maybe they had broken deadlines I'm sorry to give a negative vote to certain films but if the movie is badly done I can't do anything and I see that I'm not the only one to think so.

As the story is based on true events an extra layer of disgust is added to the whole movie. The victims and struggle and process are very rough to watch. I had to take a break midway through.
The main male lead does a fantastic job at being extremely charismatic while also being detestable.
The movie being shot very intimately from the perspective of the hidden cameras was also a nice added level of realism.
