Self - Host
- Johnny Carson: [on a supposedly rejected pilot] "Lady of the Evening" - about Johnny Appleseed's sister, who goes from town to town spreading what *she's* got.
- Robert Blake: I'll tell you one thing: Once you've made love to a dancer... that's it, man. You're ruined for life.
- Johnny Carson: I didn't know that.
- Robert Blake: Oh, let me tell you...
- Johnny Carson: Well, what hours do you work?
- Johnny Carson: [on Robert Blake] I don't know for sure what's goin' on inside of that head. I know what he's saying.
- Marsha Mason: Yes.
- Johnny Carson: I don't know sometimes if *he* knows...
- Marsha Mason: What's going on.
- Johnny Carson: What's really goin' on in there.
- Marsha Mason: Yes.
- Johnny Carson: There's a lot goin' on, and I get the feeling that he's not sure at times.
- Marsha Mason: [on Neil Simon] We met and married in three weeks, and it was alright, and it was just... everything just - I mean, and it was like... just stepping off a cliff and flying. It was wonderful.
- Johnny Carson: And you've been married how long now?
- Marsha Mason: Two and a half years.
- Johnny Carson: And is it still...
- Marsha Mason: Yeah. Terrific.
- Johnny Carson: You're not in the final glide path, or anything? Still... still up there? And a straight course?
- Marsha Mason: No - no, no. No heights.
