Successfully wasted 95 minutes watching this because I thought it's the Dunkirk by Nolan. They FOOLED me. Amateur graphics amateur screen play amateur story. Everything's crap! They are making people fool by similar plot and name. God I wish I watched the Nolan's trailer first. Man I never imagined this could happen to me. Worst movie ever I've watched in 2017. Kill the director before it lays more eggs. Full of crap!

Asylum movies like this one only exist to piggyback off the popularity of more popular movies and trick gift-givers into buying the wrong movie come Christmas. They take a big-budget movie, such as Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk", which they know is coming out soon and churn out a movie with a kind of similar plot and a very similar name, but with horrible acting, atrocious writing etc. for near no money at all. It's nothing but a cynical, pseudo-plagiarist con.
Don't watch this joke, watch the real "Dunkirk" instead.

the 'It's an Asylum movie' says it all. Thanks, Emma.
As she said, the Asylum company bank quite literally on rapidly releasing slapstick movies that piggyback on the big releases. Most big ticket movies have an associated asylum movies. This is no exception.
Not worth anyone's time. Don't help them make another one. Don't rent it.

If you are reading this review and didn't watch this awful movie, DON'T WATCH IT...
I watched it and it wasn't entertained at all. Well, it was a funny movie with the stupid actors and the -very- poor graphics!
This is not a genuine movie, the original one called "Dunkirk" not "Operation Dunkirk". Here is the original one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5013056/
If you already watched this movie before, you will know that I am completely right about this review...

I want to ask to this movie directors, to give me back 1.5 hours of my life spent on this thing. Awful at all senses, not worth watching. I can't believe that in 2017, people can' make movies like this. Bad acting's, bad music, bad story, bad actions, bad fighting's - everything was bad. Specially the worst scene was that on the bridge, with stupid actions & reactions, very slow and disgusting. This movie can be used to torture someone, for real!!!
Anyone who thought they were getting the dunkirk movie should read the movie title properly. I watch Asylum films regular and enjoy them for what they are. I never go into one of their films expecting an Oscar worthy movie, they are cheap budget rip offs but good films non the less. I wouldn't read into the ultra low scores.
Well done asylum

Group of soldiers on mission to bring French women with knowledge given to her about RADAR while escape at Dunkirk was happening Doesn't claim to be documentary all these "military experts" nit pickers should sit back and watch. Limit on length of review is why so called experts are only ones that review to brag about their so called knowledge or movies they worked or directors they dislike There are so many movies people avoid because of stupid rules.

Well i'm really glad you came here before viewing this complete & utter piece of rubbish !. I got about 15 min into it & realised 'this is it'. The 'actors' the uniform, machines & general demeanor of people attempting to portray scared & desperate body of men in a huge push to save as much of the structure & integrity of the British ARMY ! & send a very sad crew of the paras to certain death. 'nuff said,it's rubbish !!.
The single worst 'war' movie I have ever seen - switched off in less than 20 minutes. No effort was taken in authenticity or for that matter story line or production. Pretty much everything covered already by other posts here. Really should check IMDb in future before hand instead of wasting time and spondoolitz!

This is the worst movie I have ever seen. I am not an ex soldier to Dunkirk and not remotely connected to the war. It is the worst acting I have seen for a long time. Shoot the producer. Shoot everybody that even thought to be part of this movie. Rather pay your movie ticket for a box of matches. In this modern age someone must have thought better. Who financed this?? I have a movie about a dog that can stand on its hind legs. Please finance me.

The premise of the film is that a squad of BEF soldiers are sent back into Nazi occupied France instead of evacuating at Dunkirk. This sets the movie in 1940. In one early scene, the BEF squad are riding in a Jeep with a white star on the hood indicating it's an American vehicle, also Jeeps weren't built until 1941. Which is the year after this film takes place. The villain in the film wears the insignia of a Private in the SS but is wearing a Naval jacket. This same Nazi also continuously switches between speaking German and English to every one, including the Germans under his command. With all that said, the "package" they are sent to retrieve is a lady who knows how to make Radar. The movie is in 1940 remember; Radar was invented in 1933. Did any one research anything pertaining to this film? The movie is just bad. A waste of the $5 I spent at Walmart!

Others have summarised the monumental plot failings- Krauts driving Shermans, 1940 Pommies with Thompson Guns & 6*6 GMC trucks & Jeeps, everyone waiting around for the Seppos when it took 18 bleeding months for them to grow the spine necessary to take on Fascism, needing an algorithm! from the Krauts to complete the Chain-Home radar system that the Poms had perfected years before; but the stupid, Millenial rewriting of history meant I have no idea how this dog ended. Presumably Barack Roosevelt instituted a Renewable Energy Target, and Adolf Bush was stuffed.
The SS had shaving problems, feisty, up front women ran the world, but what made me finally turn off and delete this garbage was the vicious, amoral sadism that permeates every Millenial exercise in so called drama.
Utter, irretrievable crap. We are in a lot of trouble.

This is a rip off movie, I knew this was not the real Dunkirk movie but it was hilariously bad . I just watched it for the wrong equipment and other bull***t. Jeeps in 1940, Germans wearing 1990s Bundeswehr Goretex parkas, German machine guns with Picatinny rails, Stengun with magazine pointing down, British soldiers wearing American helmets, Para berets that were not there for 2 years, The extra's playing German soldiers look as if they work as an accountant in the tax office, Soldiers wearing hipster beards and much more ( find the cellphone antenna). This is a fun movie for military equipment recognition hobbyists to spot all the incorrect material .

Brilliant fantastic movie and that is what it is entertainment not a real life documentary pure hokey fun enjoy for the laffs it's all make believe I gave it a 10 for an old style gun how war movie not for the relevance to real life tanks trucks uniform etc bored
All y'all haters of The Asylum make me laugh. I am a long time The Asylum devotee. I regularly enjoy their dollar store knock off mockbusters. I appreciate the Asylum for what they do because they do it extremely well. Can another studio say they've never lost money on a movie? Fun fact, if the big studios find out The Asylum is ripping their big budget movie off they know they've got a hit. Truth. So when all you haters say how bad it is et al I love it because they are, obviously, either too stupid to read the actual title or too gullible to realize Dunkirk isn't going straight to video.
So this movie is standard fair for The Asylum. It's not Dunkirk as filmed by Nolan but it's a decent action movie. It's also, as always, unintentionally hilarious. And there in lies the core of The Asylum, mindless fun.
And no matter how much you love good, classic movies movies, sometimes you need some mindless fun.

I had to stop and look up this movie after about 30 minutes to see if I was the only one who thought it had a rubbish script, wooden actors, a complete shambles in costumes for the period and a complete lack of military guidance. It turns out I was not. The soldiers seem to have a democratic system on deciding what to do, obviously whoever directed this has never been in or near the military. The dying scene could have come out of Monthy Python - in fact it was a good copy of Peter Seller's 'dying scene' in The Party. As an ex-soldier I found myself appalled at the lack of basic military skills possessed by these 'specialist troops' - and in fact a simple google will confirm the Parachute regiment was formed on 22 June 1940 and Dunkirk took place 26 May – 4 June 1940! Not to mention that the Parachute Regiment cap badge only appeared in 1943! For goodness sake - if you are going to spend the £10,000 it must have cost to produce this rubbish, look up some basic facts!
