A beautiful short film about a teacher-student relationship in Brazilian Northeastern hinterland. Well filmed, with great actresses and a good child performance, it engages. While arid countryside kills the dreams of those who do not take care, there is an imaginary place where cats sing and we may turn dreams truth. The teacher had been hardened by suffering and hopeless routine. Then, not only she teaches a depressed boy, but also she is softened by him. By their relationship, she also learns what she teaches, and chamges herself. The movie is well developped, but I felt that is ended too suddenly. It is a nice end, but I felt that something shoud have happened before it. I think it would be better if it were a feature film. Many nice elements were presented but eventually abandoned. A good short film, anyway.
