FIRST.... to Lauren London.... The marathon continues. I'm sure Nipsey is so proud of you. I hope you keep your head up and can come back to keep delivering on this show. We've missed you and this show needs you to make it. Do your thing!
Now the entire show review.... Lauren London and Jackie Long are the strongest cast members... And they are three reason that I watched this series past the first two episodes. I found them pretty painful. But, don't worry because the cast and directors find their groove by the third episode or so. It's a great night time soap opera... Like Dynasty... Just make the story about athletes. Kind if like The Game (another series that ran it's course but I loved).
Sarunas J. Jackson, plays the lead as Marques King, and he does "okay' in this series. However, he shines in the HBO series, Insecure, far brighter. But, I suspect he'll find his groove as this series continues.
There are some newcomers that I intend to keep my eye on. You might remember Parker McKenna, cast as Laila (Golden Goddess), from her days as little Katy on the 2000s series from Damon Wayans, My Wife And Kids. She's all grown up and I'm glad to see her back on the scene in such a major series.
Bottom line folks.... I'd say this is definitely worth watching. A little guilty indulgence. Trust no one and nothing! Juicy!
Again, it's a slow start for the first couple of episodes but if you hang in there, you'll enjoy the show and look forward to the next episode. There are some plot lines that you'll definitely love (and some you could probably do without).
To the cast and directors... Keep at it. Elevate. Think "Being Mary Jane" in your delivery. Make us want more. Make us believe you. Writers... please develop the characters and their back stories a bit more. Directors....Pay attention to the angles and what can make your series different from every other show out there. If you really want this show to keep coming back, that is. Black viewers are thirsty for shows that they can identify with, so be THAT show. Take your time. You have some good talent, Lauren London, Jackie Long, Vanessa Bell Calloway.... Make sure you get the same caliber of performance from the rest of the cast. Believe in them and they'll deliver for you and the viewers. Music team, raise your game!! This is the time to ensure you get scenes lit! Some shows are magnified by music and your demographic demands better! Good luck to you all... Or should I say, "break a leg," or hell... Both of them! We'll be watching!

The script is cliched and aimed at the typical demographic. Teetering on a dreary daytime soap. It's like they lifted this from an edition of Ebony in 1995.
The plot is so shallow and backing music so loud and overpowering that each episode just feels like an extended music vid. Another wasted opportunity. No realism and ironically no soul.

Season one is mainly about developing the characters. I like the way this show displays the sexiness of males & females. It's so not one sided. It think Season 2 should really go there deep with groupies, lies & deceit -you know like in the real world!

So sick of the typical black show! SMDH! Do not film anymore seasons! FSN'S!! And that Kapouchie Tran is in just about every black show! Okay we know your Beyonce's sister & big deal!!
The show is so damn good, when it comes to the cinematography, script writing and casting, the Actors are doing a great Job the story line is getting better, the simplicity of the characters and lot more, I can't wait For the Third season. Go GAMES PEOPLE PLAY.

Marrying an athlete comes with all kinds of challenges and opportunities. These women occasionally must relocate, delay pursuing their careers, and watch games where their husbands play sports that might threaten their lives. You do, of course, experience the glitz and glamour, but at a cost. Vanessa has tolerated her husband King's adultery on several occasions, but this time it may have pushed her too far. It must be exhausting to maintain a façade in public so that people would think you two are inseparable when your home is in disarray due to your husband's inability to put an end to his infidelity. On top of that, since there is always someone waiting for a chance to profit, she is responsible for covering his tracks in order to avoid a controversy. Usually, they confide in a close friend or family member to vent to but her best friend is a gossip columnist and she is unsure of whom to trust. For the benefit of her sanity, hopefully the other wives are truly inviting her to their committee to provide an outlet from the drama.
