Ok so this is definitely fake documentary using paid acitris/actors who are terrible at their job. Perhaps it's just a terrible script and no one to blame but the writers. Anyway... Here's the big BUT, the main guy reads some of what he was told regarding the conspiracy... One of the things he reads describes a flu like pandemic to be released to by the govt late 2017/2018. Just so happens late 2019 was the year. So either this was done in 2020 and backdated to 2018 or this was made as a fake documentary to cover the true story... Whaaaaaaaaat?!

Looking at the cover of Alien Overlords you'd likely make some assumptions right? Alien invasion movie? Space ships? Lasers? Aliens? etc etc. Let me start right off the bat saying that it's not and it's one of the most deceptive movie covers I've seen in months.
Alien Overlords is filmed in a faux documentary format following a conspiracy theorist who claims to have evidence of government conspiracies and the infamous men in black. Is he a crazy old man or is there something to his claims?
The film has no action, it's essentially a "Talkie" and therefore very niche and certainly not what you'd likely expect. It follows the wacky conspiracy theory spouting man around as he begins to question everything and everyone around him.
The rants and conspiracies that you will hear are generally the classics from chemtrails to the government poisoning the water for population control, all head scratchingly silly stuff that scarily countless people believe. One of the other reviews on here is simply "If you cannot handle the truth, do not watch that docu-movie and continue to live your life sleeping" which I could say so much about but kind of demonstrates the theme of the movie perfectly.
I see the appeal of this, for those who adore real documentaries about similar themes and those who enjoy the X-files. For me however this was a bit of a drag, I guess I'm "Sleeping".
The Good:
Couple of interesting ideas
Nice monologue
The Bad:
Ultimately about themes that people in real life take too seriously
Hardly engaging stuff
Documentarian get's really annoying

A sort of 'found footage' style film - although it presents itself as a re-enactment of actual events instead of being found footage, it is all still filmed through a hand held camera. The acting actually isn't so bad but it's just really slow for the most part as we are largely just watching someone tell a story about what is going on in their life with regard to the conspiracy he is trying to expose rather than watching the events unfold ourselves. Saved from a 1 star by the final 30 minutes which manages to bring some mystery and tension to it but it's too little and too late and the twist at the end was seen coming halfway through.
Also, don't be fooled by the poster - it has no bearing on the film at all!

I'm not a person to ever review anything as my opinion may not be the reader's opinion. But, this movie even with the terrible acting got me thinking about the what ifs? We all know that the government keeps things from it's citizens, but what do they really keep from us? The part where he talked about the virus being released in 2018 was a serious eye-opener with Covid coming out in 2019. Could be a coincidence, but seriously I highly doubt it. Things just seemed to fall in place with this movie as things I can see the government doing. The earth is overpopulated and who's to say that the world governments aren't trying to reduce the population by releasing a virus, then coming out with a "vaccine" for the virus. Now people are dropping like flies with heat attacks, seems kind of odd if you ask me. Oh well, if anything the movie was okay. Acting sucked, but the storyline and plot had me watching it to the end.

I usually like these conspiracy films, but the way it was shot and the charecters were real flimsy and I found myself hating the main charecter. Watched about 15 minutes before swearing and turning it off. It's the sort of thing someone would make that wanted to underhandedly ridicule conspiracy movies..
You know the saying, that watching motion pictures make you literally dumb?
I never believed in that until I started watching this,... i'm writing this review while movie is playing on background window. This is my first review ever, never felt the need to bother with it, but i just had to get it off my chest...this movie was so poor, my only conclusion is that it was made so alienated stupid on purpose!
1 Like a big middle finger up yours, thank you, come again.
2 Watch X-files if you want to be entertained
3 It did let me write my first review about a movie so, cheers to that.

Why do a sci fi movie if you have a very low budget and can't even put at least good money for decent FX?
This one is another bad sci fi movie like they keep poring them out and they are all bad.

My bullchit detector was running wild on this one. Doesnt mean it isn't true i suppose. I believe in Aliens and they are here. But I dinno bout this one.
Almost immediately the "star" blows his own credibility, first with the usual garbage of "my life is over if I'm caught revealing this" but then conclusively when talking about his insider, the basis of all the nonsense to follow by saying this "he worked for a super secret government agency back in the 70's .... OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT". 3:08 in when discussing his eyewitness to this fairytale he can't pinpoint the most basic information of "Joe's" background. Ive never made a (pseudo) documentary but I'm positive if this was my project if this came out of this mans mouth I would have stopped and said "if you don't know the date of his employment make it up for the camera because no one will believe anything that follows". I watched it all mainly to see if anything was said or shown to change my opinion on the (non) existence of MIB's which it did not but there was one interesting bit that I've never seen or heard before, that humans were the men in black and not odd looking shapeshifting aliens. I haven't watch every MIB documentary or YouTube video but this was the first time that part of the narrative was changed, doesn't mean that it's never been presented this way just that I haven't seen it.

I saw this thing, and yes its long, pretty boring and perhaps a bit under acted by the characters. That being said, now suppose what this film is about, is real, oh say that 2017 " New Flu" well it wasn't, it's covid 19 off by a couple years, and happening now. Now, I am conspiracy theorist, I've known that the Gov will make up an alien invasion, but I wasn't sure it would be so soon, 2024. Fluoride, now, you know it's in your water, some processed foods, toothpaste, mouthwash etc, etc. That's how to lower the population, hurts the reproduction part of the body...anyway, it sounds like some of this film's predictions might take flight...be cautious everybody...I believe there will be mass contact soon, things seem pretty strange already, tons of sightings, ( have had my own when I was a kid) throughout the planet. So maybe , just maybe, something will be known soon.
As events unfold in our world today, this film could be an actual true story.
I see there are people running the film down with no actual idea what they are talking about. Agenda 21 and are very real, so muxh so we are in it, yet the majority are still oblivious as they live through a pandemic, that has nowhere near the numbers to support a pandemic alert.

I have started watching this movie 3 times for the first 5 minutes, then turned it off, the 4th time, I stuck with it, I am glad I did, for a faux documentary style which I normally hate, this turned out to be one of the better and convincing faux I have seen in a good while. As a huge fan of documentaries, this had me thinking, with the great acting from the main character you really start to believe what he is saying until a third character then starts to make you think again.
If you are into UFO conspiracy stuff then stick with it, you will be believe in it more and if you think that UFO's are just 'swamp gas' then you may come away from this with a different point of view. I thought it was well done, acting was convincing enough to start to put the seeds of truth in your head and then you feel them grow. Get past the first 10 minutes and maybe you will thinking to yourself as Mulder once did 'I want to believe
It's surprisingly good, brings together lots of different conspiracies, good plot twist with the bad guys and a nice surprise ending, worth a watch
