I would've given the show a 9/10, but I deducted 2 stars for the "Mama Drama". Not horrible, but it cheapened the program to me. The talented kids is what kept me watching. They were more mature...WAY more graceful and the thoughts they expressed had more substance to me. I felt-FEEL-sorry for the kids...kind of.
To sum it up: Absolutely fabulous show in terms of dance and sharing Justin/ Alyssa's lives. But just make room for one diva and bleach those batch spots out like Clorox -Mmmmmkay?
I'm not knockin what these "Tiger Moms" are doing by ANY means. I just don't want to see that sh$t.

I enjoy the show, Justin's energy, the kids are very talented, but the moms make me so annoyed and angry, I fast forward past them.
Would love to see less of them, and just focus on the kids and Justin. Stop giving the moms a spotlight. We all go out of our way and sacrifice for our kids, that doesn't deserve attention.

I think if you have never heard about Layssa or watched drag race, you would not enjoy this show. It is simply a follow up of Alyssa/Justin every day at his dande company, going through his family problem, love life...

I really enjoyed watching this- I watched it in one sitting. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and the parallel between watching the dance company half of the show (narrated by the very sassy Alyssa Edwards) and getting an insight into Justin's touching personal life, is awesome. I really hope there's a second season!
For the most part I think the different components of this show are engaging and compelling. Unfortunately at the expense and heartache of two teen dancers and (their families), I think Justin intentionally has postponed his final selection of which dancers simply as pawns in his strategic goal to keep viewers watching. I believe the producers and he know that a show solely on his dancing alone would not be enough to keep viewers engaged.

I enjoyed it.. the girls were awesome but the mom's are annoying and fake. I like Justin too, but sometimes he's a tad over the top.

If you like the idea of constantly watching someone put on make-up while talking vaguely about dancing and of watching kids cry and moms freak out, Athens this is the show for you. It's excruciating- there is barely two minutes of cohesiveness as the show constantly flits between Justin and his drag persona Alyssa, and so much time is spent watching him put on or take off make up. If you want to watch a dance show, there are plenty of better ones. If you want to watch a show about drag queens - again, there is better out there. This combination of the two just doesn't work.

I really do like this show however you should never scold, demean, or discipline, anyone in front of everyone. I understand his intentions are real and true however some things need to be said differently at that young of age and definitely not in front of everyone!
I almost clicked it off after 10 minutes but I stuck it out. I have to give it Justin for putting up with the mom's as I would have kicked ever single one of them out of the studio. The real talent from what i see is little JJ and yet we see very little of him and mostly the diva's. And dont ever get me started on how nelly all of Justin's friends are.

I have never watched Ru Pauls' drag race, and only clicked on this on Netflix because I was bored, and it had popped up as new. I thought 'why not' and it's actually great fun. Alyssa is very inspiring to watch, and I'm happy that in todays society, he/she is given a platform to share his passion for dance and performance with obviously, a group of very talented and driven kids. The show is fun, the parents aren't 'too' bitchy (which is nice) and I am sad that I am now watching the final episode of this first series and I have to wait now for more. If you like drama, dance, passion, and people who know how to be successful, with drive and ambition - then you will likely enjoy this series. I did, and I'm glad I gave it a go! (1st IMDB review!)

We need more, this was amazing. Thank you, Netflix. Next season we need 12 episodes or 16 would be even better! We wake up to slay, stay that way all day. Yes, Justin you are a star.
I found this show as I was looking for LGBT shows on Netflix. Being a dancer as well I thought this would be the perfect show.... it wasn't. The whole show focuses on Alyssa and rarely features her actual studio. Upon digging more into the show, I discovered that they actually portrayed the company as much more than it actually was.... the dancers featured weren't as talented as portrayed, and many of the talented dancers weren't even featured. Dramatization is expected with television shows, but other shows such as dance moms are actually interesting and entertaining because they show the dancers talent and growth. This show just focuses all on Alyssa, and almost every episode shows multiple scenes of her doing her makeup..... it could've had great potential but it focused too much on Alyssa instead of the dancers and the studio. I got bored after the second episode because they kept just putting in scenes of her doing her makeup, specially her eyebrows....this is nice as first but after a while it gets really old. I feel like they ran out of content to air so just put this in....
Not something i'd recommend for anyone looking for an actual dance show.
I chose Dancing Queen on Netflix because I love music and dance. I was so intrigued and amazed that I watched Season 1 from begining to end and was left wanting more. Justin shows such dedication and love to his young up and coming dancers in the studio. What a pleasure to watch. Justin truly has heart. And when Justin is on stage as Alyssa Edward's his performance is spell bounding. I LOVED HER..
I saw two different people and fell in love with both. What a performer...talented, beautiful, real. I hope that Dancing Queen returns for a second season with others to follow. I am totally enamored with both Justin and Alyssa...may the show go on! And On!..and on...and on...love you, girl...huge fan, Zona D. (Ga. Girl...)

I only managed to stick out a few episodes - I couldn't bear watching those kids get slashed to ribbons. I was expecting some dance mom monsters but it was worse than I expected. Watching 7 year old kids be taught that they're a loser if they don't come first every time, 15 year olds crying with stress over whether or not they get picked for the 'elite' group and the teacher telling them that if they just want to dance and have fun they should get out... it was just so sad. And someone needs to explain to Justin the difference between constructive critique and personal attacks - even when some of the moms tried to talk to him about it he clearly just didn't get the difference. The only way I can imagine enjoying this show is if I was a psychologist because these kids are going to be paying some serious cash in therapy bills in the future, if they're not already.

WOW, what a show. I love Justin/Alyssa Edwards. When I saw this I thought what the heck let's give this a go and boy I am glad I did. He is just an absolute star and a pleasure to watch. It's a shame that there is only one series. Please, please can there be more.

My girl back at it again with a great show.
I love everything about this, the personal life part , the dancing studio , the drag performances. Really easy to watch.
I love how this is a story about Alyssa Edwards and their role as a mentor and leader of these youth. I really cant wait for a second season! Its fun too that we see Justin the person and his life and Alyssa Edwards. Lovely show. Binged it.
