Same scene changes from day to night numerous times.

A scene taking place in late July 1873 shows a newspaper reporting on the election of a new governor in Texas, but that election didn't take place until early December 1873.

In some scenes, shots cut between those filmed on location and those obviously shot in a studio. This is especially noticeable at the cowboy camp where Cole and Kit are working. Long and medium shots are done on location, but close-up shots are done in a studio - even the covered wagons in the background are different and vegetation has been moved in around the wagons to block sight lines into the distance.

Lucy's stylish blonde hair arrangements are strictly 1957-1958.

The film takes place in 1873, but the stamp on Kit's letter to Lucy sports a very recognizable 1932 stamp.

Tracks of pneumatic tires visible in the dirt trails while horse riders are being filmed.
