A rare item this little Jean-Pierre Mocky's feature never aired on any channel, although it met a rather good success in theaters. A flat, tepid swindle story, speaking of poor people having trusted some leading citizens of their town. A social, satirical portrait as Mocky is used to since so many years. The kind of tale that Yves Boisset could have done in another more dramatic way.
Mocky has never been afraid of anything, but we must admit that he was his own Producer, and that means he was free of many things.
Short, fast paced, no length here. It was the best for this movie.
In resume the pure Mocky style. Any movie buff watching only one sequence without any credit could have recognized a Mocky's feature.
