It’s hard to believe, but the queen of charming rom-coms and edge-of-your-seat thrillers Sandra Bullock, once strolled into Razzie history like it was her personal red carpet. Back then, she didn’t just take home a Razzie; she made history with the kind of record that still feels impossible to match.

The nominations for the 2010 Academy Awards, recognizing the films that were released in 2009, were announced on February 2 at 5:38 a.m. I remember because I got up early to watch them. That year saw Sandra Bullock nominated for Best Actress (for "The Blind Side") alongside Helen Mirren ("The Last Station"), Gabourey Sidibe ("Precious"), Carey Mulligan ("An Education"), and Meryl Streep ("Julie & Julia").
The night before the Oscar announcements, however, the notorious Golden Raspberry awards, a.k.a. the Razzies, announced their nominees for the worst films of 2009. The Razzies are, of course, a hotly contested tradition, and it has many critics who point out the mean-spiritedness of the awards as well as its tendency to pick on pop movies and already hated performers. The nominees for Worst Actress that year were Sandra Bullock ("All About Steve"), Beyoncé ("Obsessed"), Miley Cyrus ("The Hannah Montana Movie"), Sarah Jessica Parker ("Did You Hear About the Morgans?...

Sandra Bullock's name above the title has meant mega-bucks for movie studios over the last 37 years. Combined, her movies have grossed billions of dollars at the global box office, making her one of the most bankable stars of her generation. She's done it by mostly exhibiting good taste in material and, of course, being her irresistibly bubbly self. Everyone, it seems, loves Sandy.
Bullock has a lot to be proud of (most notably the Best Actress Oscar she won for 2009's "The Blind Side"), but when it comes to her bombs, she'll be the first to tell you how lousy they are. She's earned the right to dish on disappointments like "All About Steve," "Two If By Sea" and, dear god, George Sluizer's Hollywoodized remake of his masterful Dutch thriller "The Vanishing." Hang around long enough in the film industry, and you're bound to appear in a stinker or two.

Image Source: Warner Bros There’s an exclusive list of Hollywood celebrities who have won both Oscars and Razzies for their acting: Laurence Olivier, Faye Dunaway, Liza Minnelli, Brad Pitt, Marlon Brando, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Kline, Roberto Benigni, Charlton Heston, Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, Al Pacino, Eddie Redmayne, Kim Basinger, Jared Leto, Tom Voight, and Halle Berry. But only two of them have actually accepted their Golden Raspberry Awards: Bullock (for 2009’s All About Steve) and Berry, who famously (and sarcastically) called 2004’s Catwoman “a god-awful movie” when she turned up at the Razzies ceremony. These days, even though Catwoman is saddled with an 8% Rotten Tomatoes score, Berry is more charitable when she talks about the movie in interviews. But she says there are several things she would have changed about the film, and she would welcome the opportunity to direct a new Catwoman movie, assuming she was given creative...

“Shit, I’ve been around, dude,” cracked Bradley Cooper on Thursday night after he watched a montage of his 25 years of screen work with a capacity crowd inside Santa Barbara’s historic 2000-seat Arlington Theatre en route to collecting the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Outstanding Performer of the Year Award.
The 49-year-old — who is currently Oscar-nominated for producing, co-writing and acting in Maestro, a film that he also directed for Netflix about the complicated marriage of Leonard Bernstein, played by Cooper, and Felicia Montealegre Bernstein, played by Carey Mulligan — was feted by Mulligan and, in a surprise appearance, by his friend Brad Pitt. Pitt declared, “For me, Maestro is a masterwork,” adding, “Yes, it takes great actors, but it also takes great construction. And I’m telling you, not since [Robert] Redford have I seen anyone do it so well.”

Over the past week, some have called for Sandra Bullock to return the Academy Award she won for playing Leigh Anne Tuohy in 2009’s The Blind Side – and not because she didn’t deserve it. Rather, the outcry stems from former pro football player Michael Oher claiming that Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy never actually adopted him and instead used the story for financial gains, a discovery he made nearly 15 years after The Blind Side came out.
So, why are people calling for Sandra Bullock to return her Oscar for The Blind Side, which she won by beating out the likes of Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren? We’re afraid the attempts to find any logic within the situation have come up with absolutely nothing, since obviously (or so we thought…) the reception of The Blind Side and the numerous accolades Sandra Bullock received (also including a Golden Globe and...

In a surprise appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the film's dynamic duo, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, appeared at the top of the show to officially announce that "Good Burger 2" had officially been given the greenlight over at the Paramount+ streaming service.
Variety reports "Good Burger 2" will be written and executive produced by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, who not only co-wrote the original film but also worked on "All That." Hollywood’s bloated egos require some manner of annual deflation, especially during Oscar season. For more than 40 years, that has been the objective of the Golden Raspberry Awards. The Razzies, as they’re (un)affectionately known, have celebrated the best of the worst in film since 1980. The dubious honor has been accepted by such self-deprecating luminaries as Halle Berry (Catwoman), Ben Affleck (Gigli) and Sandra Bullock (All About Steve).
But evolving sensibilities have recently cast a shadow over the operation. In January, in response to social media backlash, the group rescinded its 2023 nomination of a 12-year-old actress (Firestarter star Ryan Kiera Armstrong). Not a year earlier, a fresh win for Bruce Willis and a decades-old nomination for Shelley Duvall were taken back — the former in light of his aphasia diagnosis and the latter for revelations of on-set mistreatment by The Shining director Stanley Kubrick. The Razzies began as a way to poke fun at fame.

In 2009, Sandra Bullock arrived on stage at the Razzies to collect her award for Worst Actress.
She wasn’t alone. Trailing behind her on a trolley, which she brought to the event herself, was a crate stacked with DVDs of the film for which she’d won her trophy – the admittedly terrible All About Steve.
“We have team Bullock here – who’s not very happy with you guys – and we brought everyone in the audience tonight a DVD of All About Steve,” she told the clearly shocked crowd. “Thank you!” a faceless crowd member shouted, to which Bullock, ever the good sport, quipped: “You say that now.”
While it’s true that her decision to show up was nothing but good press for Bullock, everyone associated with the Razzies would have taken her appearance as a big win. In fact, it was the opposite. Halle Berry was the first star...

Amazon’s list new arrivals this month is highlighted by Evangelion:3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon A Time. That may be a mouthful of a name but it’s a big deal in the anime world. The streamer nagged exclusive rights to the final film in the Neon Genesis Evangelion film franchise known as “Rebuild of Evangelion”. With the future of the franchise up in the air, this could be the last chance in awhile for anime fans worldwide to catch some mecha action.

Film aficionados will want to keep an eye on Amazon Prime Video in August, as the streaming giant is set to debut two Cannes Film Festival premieres: “Val,” a new documentary about Val Kilmer that uses archival footage shot by the actor himself, and “Annette,” Leos Carax award-winning musical (it won best director at Cannes) starring Adam Driver and Maron Cotillard and featuring music by Ron and Russell Mael of Sparks.
But beyond the Prime Video originals, the Amazon library content added to the service next month is vast and impressive. Among the major movies coming to Prime Video include “Aliens,” “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” “Jaws,” “Moneyball,” and “Predator.” Meanwhile, IMDb TV, the free service that users can access without a corresponding Amazon Prime subscription, will host “Apollo 13,” “La La Land,” and “Ghostbusters” among many other big titles.

Rudy Giuliani wins Worst Supporting Actor for “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” Sia’s “Music” snags three awards
Here’s a vote that actually went Mike Lindell’s way — the MyPillow CEO has topped this year’s Razzies by winning Worst Actor and Worst Picture.
Lindell and his voter-fraud-pushing film “Absolute Proof” beat out a field that included “Dolittle” with Robert Downey Jr., “Fantasy Island” and Sia’s “Music” for the title of the worst movie of the year at this year’s Golden Raspberry Awards (aka the Razzies).
Lindell also won the title of Worst Actor for portraying himself in his conspiratorial film that pushed false and debunked claims that the 2020 election was rigged and flipped against Donald Trump. The Razzies voting body in a release called “Absolute Proof” a “faux documentary” and a “two-hour, fake news snooze-fest.”

Nobody’s perfect. The Oscars honor the best achievements in film. But the Razzies were created in 1980 to single out the worst achievements. The two awards are diametrically opposed, of course, but many actors have been nominated at both events, and more than a dozen have actually won both. Scroll down to see which film performers have gone from best to worst (or the other way around) in their careers and which categories they won at both kudos.
A couple of the earliest Razzie Award winners actually rank among the most highly regarded actors of all time. For instance, the legendary Laurence Olivier claimed the Best Actor Oscar for the title role in “Hamlet” (1948). He earned 10 other Oscar nominations over the course of his career and received two Honorary Oscars. But he was also undefeated at the Razzies, winning Worst Supporting Actor for “The Jazz Singer” (1980) in the very first year of the awards,...

Early in March of 2o1o, actress Sandra Bullock did the unthinkable by doing something quite stinkable. She managed to become the first person to win an Oscar and a Razzie not just in the very same year but during the same weekend.
While best known for her comedic work, the academy bestowed the honor upon the popular performer for playing Leigh Anne Tuohy, a real-life woman of wealth who takes a talented homeless black high-school football player under her wing in “The Blind Side.”
But the night before she earned an Oscar, Bullock received a Golden Raspberry (aka Razzie) for Worst Actress for her grating love-struck stalker who shadows Bradley Cooper’s CNN cameraman in the so-called comedy “All About Steve.” As the video above reveals, she actually went on stage to accept her disreputable prize. If that weren’t enough, she and Cooper shared another disgraced honor — Worst Screen Couple.

It might be a bit surprising to see the beloved Judi Dench in contention for an award calling out the worst achievements in film, but such was the effect of “Cats,” the widely ridiculed movie musical that leads this year’s Razzie noms. The good news, though, is that even if she wins she’ll be in good company. More than a dozen Oscar-winning actors have won Razzies too.
SEERazzies: Every Worst Picture Winner 1981 to Today
Dench, a Best Supporting Actress winner for “Shakespeare in Love” (1998), is now up for Worst Supporting Actress for her role as Old Deuteronomy, the leader of the Jellicle cats who was actually played by male actors on Broadway and the West End. This Razzies category alone has gone to Oscar winners Faye Dunaway and Kim Basinger.

“Holmes & Watson,” the Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly buddy comedy, “won” the Worst Picture award at the 39th Annual Razzie Awards.
The film also picked up the Golden Raspberry, or the “$4.97 Trophy,” in three other categories, including John C. Reilly for Worst Supporting Actor, Etan Cohen for Worst Director and the prize for Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.
President Donald Trump won a pair of awards from the Razzies for his likeness appearing in two documentaries, Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 11/9” and “Death of a Nation” from Dinesh D’Souza, including Worst Actor and Worst Screen Combo, paired with his “self-perpetuating pettiness.” Kellyanne Conway won the prize for Worst Supporting Actress for “Fahrenheit 11/9.”

Long before Bradley Cooper received rave reviews for his directorial debut A Star Is Born, the actor starred in the popular series Alias.

With only four nominations “The Emoji Movie” wasn’t the biggest contender at the 2018 Razzie Awards, but sometimes bad things come in small packages. Not only did it win Worst Picture, it swept all four of its categories. It also claimed Worst Director (Anthony Leondis), Worst Screenplay (Leondis, Eric Siegel and Mike White) and Worst Screen Combo (any two obnoxious emojis). This film, rated as the worst of the year on MetaCritic with a score of 12 out of 100, is the first animated movie to win the top prize. But the Razzies spread the wealth — or disdain — to several films in other categories.
The next biggest winner with two awards was “Fifty Shades Darker.” While its predecessor, “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015), swept the awards with five victories two years ago including Worst Picture, “Darker” got off easier by only claiming Worst Supporting Actress (Kim Basinger, with her first win after seven nominations) and Worst Remake,...

One day before she became a Best Actress Oscar winner for “The Blind Side,” Sandra Bullock took home another major Hollywood trophy: the Razzie Award. Bullock “won” Worst Actress for her performance in “All About Steve” and even made a rare appearance at the Razzies ceremony to accept the prize. “I didn’t realize that in Hollywood that all you have to do is say you’ll show up and then you get it,” Bullock told the room full of excited Razzie voters. “Because had I known that, I would have said I was appearing at the Oscars a long time ago.” Watch the video above.
Bullock feigned happiness at being named the winner, then suggested that Razzie members didn’t really watch “All About Steve” before voting for her. “I wouldn’t be here if you really, really watched it and understood what I was trying to say,” she chastised the crowd.

It came as a surprise, at least to me, when Darren Aronofsky‘s avant garde Biblical thriller “Mother!” earned three Razzie nominations: Worst Actress (Jennifer Lawrence), Worst Supporting Actor (Javier Bardem) and Worst Director (Aronofsky). I wrote at the time how unjustified I thought its nominations were. I’m always happy to see Razzie voters thinking outside the box and not just checking off whatever new “Transformers” or Tyler Perry movies are available — though they nominated those too. But “Mother!” was actually one of the better movies of 2017. The good news for lead actress Lawrence is that most of our users don’t expect her to win.
As of this writing nearly 1,000 Gold Derby users have entered their Razzie picks in our predictions center, and they rank Lawrence fourth in the Worst Actress race with 5/1 odds. She’s not totally out of the woods as Expert journalist Edward Douglas thinks she’ll win.

He’d like to thank the academy … or, maybe not. “Fifty Shades of Grey” star Jamie Dornan won Worst Actor at the Razzie Awards two years ago for his performance as America’s favorite Bdsm businessman Christian Grey in the erotic drama. He wasn’t there to accept the “honor,” but he would have been happy to go. “Dude, if they invited me I’d be there,” Dornan recently told Conan O’Brien (watch above). “I won one, and I didn’t even get invited.”
“I’m intrigued to see what it’s all about,” Dornan explains. Poking fun at the awards that have poked fun at him, he added, “Apparently you can just pay $90 and just become a member online. An establishment that runs itself like that intrigues me quite a lot.” But even though he didn’t have the pleasure of accepting his prestigious Razzie in person, he...

Each year the film industry sacrifices one of its blockbusters to the movie gods, in the hope that its other releases will be spared the vicious lash of mass opprobrium. This year the designated victim was Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Critics spotted Luc Besson’s space opera on the horizon, sensed weakness, singled it out from the big budget herd, and moved in for the kill, savaging it as, “a stinker”, “a travesty of storytelling” and, “one of the worst films I have ever seen”. Social media gleefully swooped on the carcass to declare it the year’s biggest Doa turkey. And all this before the public had even had a chance to see it.
Rotten Tomatoes gave Valerian a 49% rating, but looking at the site’s reviews round-up (something I do only when writing a piece like this), I’m struck now by how many...

Another week and more rejection for new releases; The Martian, Bridge of Spies and Goosebumps stayed in the top spots as newcomers Burnt and Our Brand is Crisis fell flat. Can you see Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse in the top 10? Nope. You can’t.
Does this mean people are getting smarter with their movie selection? I hope so. These offerings were complete misfires and shouldn’t be rewarded for its star power. Bradley Cooper as a hot chef and Sandra Bullock as an Oscar contender, pass.
The Martian has held the top spot for four of the last five weekends and is on track to become the highest-grossing feature of Ridley Scott’s career beating $187.7 million for 2000’s Gladiator. Burnt earned an estimated $5 million this weekend – about half what Aloha, Cooper’s last bomb, earned back in May. Our Brand is Crisis came in lower than Burnt. The...

He’s a rebel cook because he has a bike and a leather jacket, or didn’t you notice? You should watch Jon Favreau’s Chef instead, it wasn’t as insulting to the brain and actually had something to say. This looks like they wanted Bradley Cooper to be a rock star in food porn. No thanks.

Notable: Bradley Cooper played a similar character, also a Chef, 10 years before, in the TV series Kitchen Confidential (2005).
No thanks.
Our Brand Is Crisis
Notable: First film Sandra Bullock has produced since All About Steve (2009).
Someone really wants Sandra Bullock to win another Oscar. Billy Bob Thornton, you don’t need to do Bad Santa 2, but do something better than this.

All About Steve: Boyle and Sorkin’s Backstage Swipe at the Tech Magnate
Though it successfully usurps the ungainly 2013 film starring a miscast Ashton Kutcher as the eponymous technological entrepreneur, director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin’s up-do hardly grazes the superficial surface of the man known as Steve Jobs, especially considering his name serves as the title. An astutely written and hyper-intelligent (not to mention overly loquacious) chamber piece, the type we’ve come to expect from the likes of Sorkin following his tackling of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg in Fincher’s 2010 The Social Network, this treatment spans a fourteen year period and covers the backstage scenes behind three notable product launches in Jobs’ career (1984-1998). The result is an exaggerated triptych of moments formulated as a bluntly theatrical stage play. Agonized modern figures now historically mythologized for the roles they’ve played in the technological advances...

Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper has become a huge Hollywood star in recent years. Unlike many top actors, who seem to burst onto the scene, Cooper slipped into our collective consciousness over time, moving from minor TV roles to cult movies until he was a bona fide blockbuster.
With the arrival of his latest hit American Sniper in Sky Store, we look back over the fascinating rise of Bradley Cooper:
The early years
As an unknown actor, Cooper made his television debut in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance in Sex and the City in 1999. His first significant role was opposite Jennifer Garner in Jj Abrams's Alias from 2001-06, not as Sydney Bristow's secret agent love interest but as her mild-mannered and slightly awkward reporter friend.
In 2008, he starred in sinister horror film The Midnight Meat Train, a story of a photographer who becomes obsessed with a New York City serial killer called the 'Subway Butcher'.

During an interview with Steve Merchant in 2008, Louis C.K. joked that the aspiring actors in the audience of Inside the Actor’s Studio who asked the actors the questions were starting from nowhere, and would never themselves make it into the business. “You’ll never be famous,” Louis said. “There’s no way you asked Sean Penn a question and then you’re going to be huge.” A few years later, 2014’s American Hustle (and irony) found Louis co-starring with Bradley Cooper, who had actually done that very thing in 1999. He had asked a question from the Actor’s Studio audience – and quite literally asked it of none other than Sean Penn.
In that same year, on that same show, Cooper also asked a question of Robert De Niro. Cooper then went on to star with De Niro in Limitless (2011), Silver Linings Playbook (2012) – and American Hustle. Add to this the...

Not every movie can be a winner. And not every actor can be Meryl Streep.
Even Oscar nominees make bad movies and sometimes, in an unfortunate twist of fate and bad timing, that bomb, that dud, that total and complete flop, comes out at the same time as some of the best work of their life. Here are 11 times that happened in the past 10 years:
Focus Features
1. Eddie Redmayne (2015)
Nominated Role: The Theory of Everything. Redmayne is the Best Actor favorite this year for this biopic about Stephen Hawking navigating black holes and Als.
Losing Role: Jupiter Ascending. This totally effing bonkers Wachowski sci-fi flick came out just before Oscar voting started. And once you see Redmayne as Bowie-esque space prince Balem Abrasax, it cannot be unseen.
The Weinstein Company
2. Jennifer Lawrence (2013)
Winning Role: Silver Linings Playbook. Lawrence took home Best Actress for her turn as a trouble townie named Tiffany in this dark spin on a rom-com...
