As a Muslim who grew up reading stories of the Prophets, this is amazing. The production really captured the importance of faith without making it annoying or repetitive.
The story of the elephant army and the birds is mentioned in the Qur'an. Despite the anime not really reflecting the real story, the anime captured its essence and message.
Some minus points is for the stories of the Prophets it seems a little bit forced and out of the narrative and distantly correlate but the ending conceptualizes the stories to always have faith and believe in God.
Bonus points for the intercultural collaborative effort while still being respectful with the religion of Islam and accurate. The entertainment value of the animation itself is good. The animation and the characters really make the movie easy on the eyes and captured my attention.
I highly recommend this movie not only for the religious value, but also the good storytelling and smooth animation. The fighting scenes too are cool and displayed well.

An original masterpiece
Especially with Arabic voice 😯😯😯
😨💛💛💛
Based on the story of the Elephant so expected the film to be something similar to the movie 300 in terms of the storyline's/visual/'epicness' execution after seeing the voice cast and the trailers/posters. What it came out as was just plain dull, probably would not meet the lowest expectation one would have of a war anime.
The main protagonist, as nice as his name did sound, did not have much of a backstory/features/characteristics one would expect to have to make the viewer root/ be inclined towards him.
Story/parables were just forced on rather than built and eased into, even the first story/parable to rally and convince and rally the crowd as good as it may be did not even make sense/ was written and executed poorly.
It would have been far far better if the protagonist was strictly grateful and motivated to please God, would have really helped portray the characters conviction like Ertugrul, rather than just make ambiguous speeches alongside visuals about parables of faith. All that did was make the protagonist along with the rest of the people out to be some mindless unconvincing faith zombies.
Overall film had potential but adaptation was just poor. Maybe would have fared better as part of a series where there would have been time to really get the point across.
4/10.

I went to the movie 2 times and wouldn't mind to go again! Wow, amazing story based on Real Events. A Must Watch for everyone for sure.
I had high expectations for this movie, but was disappointed with the result. I watched the Arabic version of the movie, and here is a summery why I didn't like it:
Otherwise, there are many nice things about the movie, such as the graphics, animation, voice-over..etc
Looking forward to the upcoming titles!
- There are a lot of unnecessary fillers and stories that don't link well together, which makes the movie confusing and boring. The storyline could be much better!
- The Arabic script wording is not good enough, weak structures, phrases, and expressions.
- The story of the Year of Elephant is significant in the Arabian history, the movie doesn't include many backing details that could elevate the story depth.
- From a historical perspective there are a lot of mistakes and inaccurate information, which makes the movie misleading especially for general audience.
Otherwise, there are many nice things about the movie, such as the graphics, animation, voice-over..etc
Looking forward to the upcoming titles!
I loved everything about it except some forced fillers. But I consider them negligible so I'm giving it 10/10!

This movie is an absolute masterpiece that left me completely awe-struck. The writing, acting, cinematography, and direction are all exceptional, and together they create an unforgettable cinematic experience. The story is gripping, emotional, and thought-provoking, and the characters are so well-developed that you can't help but be invested in their journey.
This movie is a true triumph of cinema. The writing is exceptional, the acting is superb, and the direction is flawless. The story is both captivating and emotional, and it's a true testament to the human spirit. The visuals are stunning, and the cinematography is breathtaking.

What a good start first anime released!
( If you really asking is it worth the watch i'd say 100% yes i was entertaining from start to finish the ending what made it even better )
i wish they made the fights longer since that's what i enjoy in anime in General, but this is good enough!
Its a short story, supported by couple of shorter stories, and then linked in the end, i loved the ending when they mentioned this story should be told like the rest.
I hope they do more fighting next i think that's what shines mainly in anime, a bit of backstory for couple more characters makes it good aswell, i loved Aws backstory but it felt a bit short and cut.
Can't wait for what they're releasing next.

I watched the arabic dub and it was pretty cool, they showed how most wars are won without blood or fighting by using fear tactics and that's pretty accurate.

*The Journey* presents itself as a visually stunning anime with a unique premise. While the overall experience is enjoyable, especially for a first attempt, the inclusion of small, seemingly unrelated stories disrupts the flow of the narrative.
The film's strongest aspects are its stunning animations and the intricate world-building. The story of Aws and Zurarah's past is particularly engaging and demonstrates the potential for a more cohesive narrative. Their shared history and their growth as characters throughout the film add depth and emotion to the plot.
However, the insertion of multiple smaller stories within the main plotline creates a disjointed experience for the viewer. These mini-narratives, while interesting in their own right, often feel unnecessary and detract from the main story arc. If the movie had focused more on Aws and Zurarah's journey and their relationship, it would have been a more enjoyable and immersive experience.
In terms of character development, aside from Aws and Zurarah, the rest of the cast could have benefitted from more fleshed-out backstories and motivations. This would have made their actions and decisions more believable and relatable.
The film's soundtrack is another highlight, with a mix of orchestral and modern tunes that complement the various moods and atmospheres portrayed throughout the story. It effectively enhances the viewing experience and helps immerse the audience in the world of *The Journey*.
In conclusion, *The Journey* is a visually impressive anime with a strong foundation in its central characters and world-building. However, the inclusion of multiple smaller stories detracts from the overall narrative and pacing. With more focus on the main plot and further character development, this film could have been a truly memorable experience. Despite its flaws, it is still a commendable first effort and shows promise for future projects from the creators.

The story is beautifully crafted, with a heartfelt and empowering message about self-acceptance and the value of teamwork. It's a movie that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike, thanks to its perfect balance of action, humor, and genuine emotional moments. It is not an exaggeration to say that this movie is one of the few films that truly deserves to be called a masterpiece. This is a movie that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime, and one that will continue to be celebrated for generations to come.
It highly recommend to watch and I really enjoyed the movie. It's really a master piece.

The Journey is a remarkable achievement in the world of anime, offering a unique and captivating look at the history and culture of the Arabian Peninsula. With its engaging story, striking visuals, and commitment to authenticity, this movie is a must-watch for anyone interested in exploring a different side of anime.
One of the standout aspects of The Journey is its focus on authenticity, with the creators striving to accurately represent the history, language, and culture of the time period. The voice acting is also impressive, featuring a talented cast of Arabic-speaking actors who bring the characters to life.

The Journey is an ambitious anime film that captivates audiences with its beautiful visuals and intriguing world-building. The central story of Aws and Zurarah is engaging, and their relationship adds emotional depth to the narrative. However, the film suffers from a disjointed structure due to the inclusion of multiple smaller stories that interrupt the main plot.
The film's animation and soundtrack are standout features, enhancing the viewing experience. While the main characters are well-developed, the supporting cast could benefit from more depth and backstory. A more focused narrative and better pacing would improve the overall cohesion and impact of the film.
Despite its flaws, it remains a commendable first effort, showcasing the potential of its creators and leaving viewers eager for their future projects.

Very good movie even tho it contains unnecessary stuff that is not written in the quran i understand that they're trying to make it longer.
I wouldn't recommend it if you're trying to learn by watching it tho it's necessary to have at least read the actual Quran verses to fully understand the story.
The Prophet stories seems a little rushed and not well explained such as the story of lot and noah, although i like the fact that these stories are narrated by someone else's eye.
The action is not over exaggerated no explosions etc ofc it got action since it's an anime but characters don't fly nor they cut heads with only a blow
I'd definitely give it a watch not only for the religious part but for the fun of it.
