A new report suggests that Whiplash and Babylon director Damien Chazelle’s Evel Knievel movie will film this summer, with Leonardo DiCaprio to star.
It was first reported last December that Damien Chazelle, director of Whiplash, First Man and La La Land, has plans to make a film about stunt rider Evel Knievel. Despite his own fears that he may have unofficially wound up in ‘director jail’ following the financial disappointment of his Hollywood epic, Babylon, he was said to be in talks to with Paramount over the production, with Leonardo DiCaprio set to take on the title role.
Three months on, and Chazelle’s currently-untitled film appears to be moving along nicely. According to Puck (via Far Out Magazine), negotiations are underway to have DiCaprio star as Knievel, with filming said to be planned for the summer of 2025.
A few details about the film itself have also emerged. One...

The highly anticipated fifth and final season of Babylon Berlin is nearing completion, marking the end of an era for the popular German drama series. Set against the backdrop of the Weimar Republic, the show has captivated global audiences with its gritty, noir-style portrayal of pre-Nazi Germany. The concluding season will bring this tale to a close, focusing on the politically charged months that saw Adolf Hitler’s rise to power.
Filming for the final season wraps later this year, with co-creators Tom Tykwer, Henk Handloegten, and Achim von Borries preparing to deliver a tense and dramatic finale. Babylon Berlin has long been celebrated for its authentic depiction of 1920s Berlin, and season 5 will dive into the events surrounding Hitler’s appointment as Reich Chancellor on January 30, 1933, and the aftermath of his consolidation of power through the elections held in early March.

Tony Todd, prolific actor and horror icon, passed away in 2024, leaving behind an impressive filmography full of memorable roles. Beginning with his first real Hollywood role as Sergeant Warren in Oliver Stone's Oscar-winning "Platoon," Todd then began his journey towards becoming a horror legend by playing Ben in Tom Savini's "Night of the Living Dead" remake — a major milestone on his path to playing the titular "Candyman" in Bernard Rose's celebrated 1992 supernatural horror film. He'd continue his run as a staple of the horror genre after that, ultimately becoming the personification of Death in the "Final Destination" film series.
But horror wasn't the only genre that Todd became known for. The imposing, six-foot five-inch star also made a name for himself in beloved sci-fi series, playing Kurn, the Klingon brother of Worf in both "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Deep Space Nine." In fact, Todd once...

Anyone looking to spice up their Valentine’s Day “viewing material” might want to look at the first image from Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights. The simple yet sensual image shows a close-up of someone’s mouth with blades of green grass caught between extended fingers. While you could be wondering, “What’s so sexy about grass?” let me remind you that botanophilia, referring to a sexual attraction to plants, exists. Imagine how many gardeners see this image and suddenly need to excuse themselves for an extended bathroom break. You know it in your heart to be true.
Emerald Fennell, the mad genius behind such films as Promising Youg Woman and Saltburn, directs, writes, and produces her adaptation of Wuthering Heights, based on Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel. Following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, where it was acquired by Sony Pictures Classics, Daniel Minahan’s adaptation of Shannon Pufahl’s 2019 novel “On Swift Horses” will be released in the U.S. on April 25, 2025.
The film is set during the 1950s and stars Will Poulter as a returning Korean War vet, Lee, who decides to make a new life for himself and his wife, Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones), in California. This plan is challenged when Lee’s brother, Julius (Jacob Elordi) — also a vet — decides to join them out west. As Lee and Muriel explore parts of themselves they’d kept hidden, their lives become the kind of gamble both can’t seem to let go of. Watch the new trailer for the film below.

Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio Feud? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood featured Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Brad Pitt. But did you know the actors once feuded because of Robbie?
Martin Scorsese’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is definitely one of the classics. It featured an ensemble star cast, including Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Austin Butler, and others. However, days after the movie’s premiere, there were reports alleging that Pitt and DiCaprio got into a feud over gaining Robbie’s attention. Though neither of the actors ever spoke about it, the media and the internet were going abuzz about it.
Many instances proved that Pitt and DiCaprio might have grown a soft corner for the actress, as they were often spotted flirting with her during the interviews. But when the magazine reported that they were fawning over getting Robbie’s attention, it...

Rob Tregenza is always questioning what can be accomplished with the simple building blocks of cinema. In particular, his career can be seen as one long investigation of the possibilities of both the tracking shot and the crane shot. Since 1988’s Talking to Strangers, he’s experimented with the crane shot—a technique invented to show off the entirety of D.W. Griffith’s Babylon set in his Intolerance—on much smaller productions, a choice that always brings a touch of the miraculous to the mundane, as if, in those moments where the camera hovers over the characters in his worlds, we’re looking through the eyes of angels.
Tregenza’s The Fishing Place, like his previous Gavagai, is both shot and set in rural Norway. But this is a period piece, and his frames abound in military uniforms, old Ford Model A’s, and period-accurate furniture. Here, World War II continues to rage on,...

There is a wildcard at every wedding, but in the case of “You’re Cordially Invited,” there are two. And they are played by Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
Now streaming on Prime, the film directed by Nicholas Stoller centers on two families who unknowingly double book their weddings at the same small inn — an inn that can really only accommodate one wedding. For Jim (Ferrell), it is his daughter’s, and for Margot (Witherspoon), it is her sister’s. Naturally, the two immediately go insane, trying to force the other to back down.
Somehow, Ferrell and Witherspoon have never led a comedy together, but they are doing it now with a very familiar cast.
Here are the major players you need to know.

Margot Robbie had a dating rule against seeing celebrities? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
The Babylon star revealed a pretty strict dating policy that kept her away from the Hollywood elite… at least while she was single. Her rule? No actors. In a 2015 interview with Marie Claire, Margot Robbie got real about the pressures of dating when you’re a star. “People take such an interest in your love life when you have a profile that it puts a lot of stress on a relationship,” she asserted. She continued, “So, two people with profiles, I figure it’s just double the amount of scrutiny, and I’d like to avoid that at all costs.”
But before you start thinking Robbie was anti-actor, she quickly shut that down. “Not because I hate actors. That’s a nasty generalisation,” she clarified. So, it wasn’t about a Hollywood vendetta; it was about protecting her...

Katy Perry Once Gave Ex-Russell Brand A $156K Space Ticket For His Birthday (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Once upon a celebrity moment, Katy Perry gave the term “shooting for the stars” a whole new meaning! For then-husband Russell Brand’s birthday, she dropped a cool £125K ($156K) on a ticket to space. Forget flashy watches or luxury cars; this was a one-way trip to the cosmos via Virgin Galactic.
In 2011, Katy and Russell were Hollywood’s quirkiest lovebirds; this gift was the cherry on their cosmic cake. Brand had joked about heading to the stars, so Perry made the dream a reality. Sadly, the relationship didn’t last light-years, but this galactic gesture remains a moment of next-level love and whimsy. Katy, always one to think big, didn’t just aim for the moon; she aimed past it.
Fast forward to 2025, and Perry is still making headlines, but this time for her jaw-dropping fashion choices.

Margot Robbie Brad Pitt Kiss Scene (Photo Credit – Instagram)
When Margot Robbie kissed Brad Pitt in Babylon, it wasn’t just a moment between two Hollywood heavyweights—it was pure spontaneity. The scene, now iconic, was not in the script. Robbie decided on the fly that her character, Nellie Laroy, had to kiss Pitt’s Jack Conrad. And, let’s be honest, when else would she get that chance?
“It wasn’t in the script,” Robbie told E! News. “But I thought, ‘When else will I get to kiss Brad Pitt? I’m just gonna go for it.’” Robbie wasn’t just playing the part—she was living the moment, fully embracing the chaos that is her character in Babylon.
But Robbie’s bold move didn’t come without a little push. She had to convince director Damien Chazelle to let her take that leap. “I said, ‘Damien, I think...

The Super Bowl Halftime Show just got a lot bigger. On Thursday, Apple Music announced that Sza will be joining Kendrick Lamar during this year’s halftime show, hosted at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome on Feb. 9.
Apple Music shared a video of Lamar and Sza to make the announcement. “What’s up with it. Everything’s smooth. I’m on the field right now… This feels a lot better than what people think, so that’s a must,” says Lamar on the phone, as Sza approaches the rapper from behind.

Image Source: Paramount Pictures Expectations were high for Babylon when it was released in 2022. The film, which takes place in Hollywood during the “Roaring ’20s” as films were making the transition from silent to sound, was written and directed by Oscar winner Damien Chazelle, who had previously brought Los Angeles to life in La La Land. The film had a large and diverse ensemble cast, led by Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. And it also had a large marketing push behind it. Alas, even with all that going for it, the film flopped at the box office, failing to earn enough to cover its production budget. But, as the film found its way onto streaming platforms and into home video release, the movie started to find a following. That comes as welcome news to Robbie; when the film was released, she talked about how exhilarating it was to make a...

There’s a record on Mitski’s fourth album Puberty 2 where she gasps out: “I wanna see the whole world.” She repeats the refrain on “My Body’s Made of Crushed Little Stars” like a reverse version of “There’s no place like home.” When the singer-songwriter Tamino first heard the record, he was already in between these feelings. The Belgian-Egyptian musician had moved to Amsterdam and found solace in the growing pains of Puberty 2. It feels full circle, then, that Mitski would join Tamino on his latest single “Sanctuary,” a...

After two genre-defining entries, which heavily contributed to the boom of CBMs in the 2000s, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 3 proved to be a massive letdown upon its release. From pacing issues, which stemmed from the involvement of too many villains, especially Venom, to the infamous emo Peter sequence, fans of the first two entries were thoroughly disappointed.

While Maguire became the scapegoat following his cringeworthy emo Peter depiction, the Spider-Man star had little to do with it, as it boiled down to Raimi’s direction and his choreographers.

Despite the dip in quality in comparison to Spider-Man 2, arguably one of the best the genre has to offer, Sam Raimi was given the pass by fans, as the major issues with the film stemmed from Sony’s involvement.

The best Jean Smart movies and TV shows feature some well-known releases along with some independent gems. After graduating from college, she began her acting career as a theater actor in the 1970s before moving to New York City and seeking bigger, better things. She then began to pick up television roles before she enjoyed her breakout in the TV series Designing Women as Charlene Frazier Stillfield.
Once she left that series, she moved on to smaller roles in made-for-tv movies before she got another big break with her casting on the TV show Frasier as Lana Gardner. Since that time, she began to take on some interesting roles in movies, but her biggest roles have been on television, where she has earned 13 Emmy nominations, winning six times for roles in Frasier, Samantha Who?, and Hacks.

"My Name Is Earl" is one of those sitcoms that remains beloved to a select group of fans but never really caught on in the zeitgeist in a way like "The Office" or "30 Rock" did. It had a great, heartwarming premise of the titular Earl (Jason Lee) wanting to make amends to all the people he's wronged in his troublemaking life. Earl typically hung around an eclectic group of characters to help (or hinder) him along his journey, and there was the potential for the show to make some big waves had it been allowed to continue.
Sadly, "My Name Is Earl" was canceled after four seasons due to negotiation issues between the network and the studio. It was an anticlimactic development, especially seeing as season 4 ended on a cliffhanger with the revelation that Darnell (Eddie Steeples) wasn't the father to Earl Jr.

For years, David Fincher’s Fight Club has ignited storms of controversy for its unique theme, which tends to offer a visceral study of disaffected men and male rage. Starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, this 1999 film was no stranger to polarizing opinions, with its bold themes, gritty storytelling, and unapologetic critique of societal norms.

Even though today, it is considered a cultural touchstone in the history of cinema, critics have continued to dismiss it as an offensive and nihilistic film with nothing substantive to say about the real world we live in. However, Pitt and Norton have never been the ones to take such harsh criticism lying down and once blasted the critics with their unrelenting wit.

Yesterday evening, a rumour hit social media claiming that Marvel Studios is making moves to recast Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa. The news has received a mixed response, though many fans are eager to see the character back on screen.
After Boseman passed away, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever confirmed that T'Challa had also died. Shuri inherited the mantle and the sequel ended by revealing the hero secretly had a son with Nakia, a young boy also named T'Challa.
While Avengers: Secret Wars' Black Panther may be a Variant, we think Toussaint is going to be aged up before picking up where his father left off in the Mutant Saga. With all that in mind, we're now taking a look at the actors who could take over this role in the MCU.

The Golden Globes have been honoring comedies since the 1950s and the days of such Billy Wilder gems as The Apartment and Some Like It Hot. But the category — which for the past 60 years has crowned a single winner among comedies and musicals — hasn’t always experienced smooth sailing.
How one defines a comedy — is it punchlines? pratfalls? subtle satire? — has been just one of the issues bedeviling the award. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association began playing even more fast and loose with definitions earlier this century when it increasingly nominated movies that seemed neither particularly funny nor acclaimed, instead using the category to bring popular films and stars into the fold that would otherwise have no way of getting there.
At the moment, the smaller, clubbier HFPA has been disbanded in favor of a larger and more representative group of global journalists. This has cut down on the number of nominated howlers,...

"Stranger Things" isn't the only show keeping the fervent spirit of the '80s alive, because "The Goldbergs" acts as a giant love letter to the decade that birthed such national treasures as "ThunderCats" and "Garbage Pail Kids." Loosely based on showrunner Adam F. Goldberg's own life, the sitcom follows his family's adventures (and misadventures) in everyday scenarios that unfolded across 10 seasons between 2013 and 2023. "The Goldbergs" cast features more than a handful of recognizable names, such as Jeff Garlin and Stephen Tobolowsky, not to mention Patton Oswalt using his recognizable voice, but it's sometimes difficult to pinpoint exactly where we have seen these actors before.
Don't stress, though, since that's why we're here -- to figure out the notable shows and films where you might have seen the cast of "The Goldbergs" before. Now, that doesn't mean their entire filmographies will be covered from top to bottom, because some...

Margot Robbie has starred in many acclaimed films and delivered incredible performances. Last year, she co-produced and starred in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, which broke several box office records and became a pop cultural phenomenon. Her breakout role was in The Wolf of Wall Street, where she worked with Martin Scorsese.

However, Robbie defended the film and said she did not understand the slander.

Superhero movies wouldn't be as popular today if it wasn't for the success of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man films in the 2000s, and the Peter Parker star has an unsurprisingly high net worth. Maguire first rose to prominence as an actor in the late '90s, often playing soft-spoken, somewhat dorky characters like in Pleasantville and The Cider House Rules. With this experience, Maguire was perfect to play the kind-hearted Peter Parker in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. The actor has stepped out of the spotlight in recent years, though Maguire's cameos in Babylon and Spider-Man: No Way Home are beyond memorable.
Maguire was born in Santa Monica, California to parents Wendy and Vincent. While most parents want their kids to avoid the spotlight, Maguire's mother was the opposite, and reportedly paid him $100 to pursue drama instead of the culinary arts when he was in the sixth grade. This was clearly money well spent as,...

Damien Chazelle’s follow-up to 2022’s Babylon could see Leonardo DiCaprio playing the legendary stunt rider Evel Knievel for Paramount.
Babylon was a bruising experience for its director, Damien Chazelle. The 2022 ode to early Hollywood largesse only made back around $63m of its reported $100m budget, presumably leaving Paramount somewhat in the red. While the film itself wasn’t lacking in merits, audiences simply didn’t show up in force for the film and that left Chazelle publicly wondering if he was now in the dreaded ‘director’s jail’.

Margot Robbie made quite the impression with her breakout role in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, which included a full frontal nude scene. While speaking with Ben Mankiewicz on the Talking Pictures podcast, the actress revealed that this scene was actually her idea, although she wasn’t thinking about how “everyone is going to see this” at the time.

My“The Wolf of Wall Street” was three-time Oscar nominee Margot Robbie’s breakout film, and she was not shy about making a memorable first impression on director Martin Scorsese, star Leonardo DiCaprio, or the audience. In an appearance on the “Talking Pictures” podcast, Robbie told host Ben Mankiewicz that it was her idea to go full-frontal nude for a scene where her character, Naomi, seduces her future husband, DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort, for the first time.
Recalling her experience working on the film, Robbie said that Scorsese told her that she could wear a robe if she wasn’t comfortable with the nudity, but she decided that wouldn’t be true to the character. “That is not what she would do in that scene,” she said. “She would not put a robe on. Margot Robbie is looking back at her full-frontal nude scene in The Wolf of Wall Street.
While appearing on the Talking Pictures podcast with Turner Classic Movies’ Ben Mankiewicz, the actress reflected on starring in the 2013 Martin Scorsese film alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The role — as Naomi Lapaglia, the wife to DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort — marked Robbie’s breakout film role when she was in her early 20s.
In the movie, Robbie has a full-frontal nude scene, one she said she pushed for even when Scorsese offered an alternative option.
She recalled Scorsese suggesting she could cover up, saying, “Maybe you can be wearing a robe if you’re not comfortable.” However, Robbie didn’t feel that would be true to the character.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 right now is the hottest topic in the gaming world. As the last Black Ops didn’t get much appreciation from the fans, the recently launched title has a huge responsibility on its shoulders. Treyarch also left no stone unturned to execute that responsibility.

Having burst onto the Hollywood scene with The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot Robbie became a household name and has been part of some massive projects, but she's completely right about her $64.9 million flop from 2022. Having played the leading role in Barbie, Robbie proved she was still a huge draw as the movie became the highest-grossing movie of 2023, but the previous year wasn't so kind. After the disappointing performance of Amsterdam, Robbie looked to quickly follow up this misfire with Babylon two months later, but the film was met with mixed reviews and an underwhelming box office.
However, despite the movie failing to get much love upon release, Margot Robbie defended Babylon's poor reception and claimed she couldn't figure out why people hated it. While the overall response to the movie proves there was still a large percentage of viewers who enjoyed the final product, Babylon is easily Damien Chazelle's most divisive movie,...

During her recent appearance on the "Talking Pictures" podcast, Margot Robbie expressed her bafflement over the response to her 2022 film "Babylon," the Damien Chazelle-directed period piece (and follow-up to the filmmaker's Neil Armstrong drama "First Man") that also starred Brad Pitt, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, and Jovan Adepo. The Hollywood epic followed silent era movie stars during the 1920s as the film industry struggled to adapt to the transition to talkies. While the somewhat divisive picture has its fair share of defenders (see /Film's review for more on that) and boasts stunning production values, it was nevertheless a financial bomb that grossed just under $65 million at the global box office against a $110 million budget.
"I love it. I don't get it either," said Robbie, commenting on "Babylon" and its box office failure. "I know I am biased because I am very close to the project and I obviously believe in it,...

Was Margot Robbie almost left out of Suicide Squad? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
When James Gunn put together The Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. didn’t plead for Robbie’s return. The studio raised their hands and said, “We love Margot, but do your thing; we’re cool.” Gunn spilled the tea to SlashFilm, revealing, “They said, ‘Listen, we love Margot, we would love it if she were back in the movie, but as long as you’re doing what you want to do … we don’t care.’” No big deal, huh? For a minute there, The Suicide Squad could’ve been Harley-free.
But how is that even possible? Gunn had complete creative freedom. And if he didn’t want to bring back Quinn for his version of the squad, he didn’t have to. But, being the genius that he is, Gunn kept what worked. Why mess with perfection, right? So,...
