From the surprise drop of 2013’s visual album to the three-act reclamation of Black musical history that began with Renaissance, Beyoncé’s mastery of viral promotion is peerless. So when the superstar signed on for the NFL’s Christmas Gameday halftime show, the Hive — her devoted and highly informed fan base — expected an album or tour announcement to follow. Instead, they got a cryptic post-game Instagram video that revealed the date “01.14.2025.” But the performance might have served another purpose: to lock in an album of the year Grammy win for Cowboy Carter.
With the Grammy Awards’ final voting period open from Dec. 12 to Jan. 3, what better way to showcase Act II of Beyoncé’s ambitious musical trilogy than a holiday performance beamed into millions of households across America? The goal would be twofold: to reacquaint voters — who might be preoccupied with newer releases — with March’s Cowboy Carter and to...

Though Katherine “Kitty” Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) will be less of an outsider in her second semester at the Korean International School of Seoul, she says it best in the show’s newly released trailer: “There’s nothing like a familiar face from home” to boost one’s confidence every now and then.
That friendly face just happens to be Noah Centineo’s Peter Kavinsky, star of Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film trilogy based on the books by Jenny Han. Is anyone even watching young adult TV anymore?
As the entire television ecosystem has been upended in recent years, dedicated spaces for YA content have all but disappeared. The CW swiftly cancelled nearly all of its scripted series, many of which targeted this audience, over the last few years. Freeform has done the same.
The streamers have largely taken up the mantle on speaking to young audiences, but still questions remain. With the rise of short-form content thanks to TikTok and YouTube, does this new generation of teens and young adults even care for longform, scripted content? How can streamers compete for Gen Z’s attention in such a fractured landscape?
“I don’t think the demand is dwindling,” Greg Berlanti, who has produced some of the most culturally relevant YA content of the past two decades from Dawson’s Creek to Riverdale, told Deadline. “There will always be a place for great YA.

Pedro Pascal’s baby sister, Lux Pascal, is a force to be reckoned with. Just like her brother, Lux has won over fans with her charisma and beauty.

With his charming looks and brilliant acting, Hollywood star Pedro Pascal has cultivated a global appeal. He has also earned the title of Internet’s Daddy, which is not the same thing as having a worldwide fan following but still an achievement on its own. The Chilean-American actor has earned global recognition and accolades for his work in popular TV shows like Game of Thrones, Narcos, and one of the biggest hits in recent times, The Last of Us.
While The Mandalorian star has taken Hollywood by storm, another Pascal is making her way into the limelight; Pedro Pascal’s younger sister, Lux Pascal.

The Sabrina Carpenter song “Espresso” has a particular meaning.
Beyond just being a bop. Though it is. “Espresso” was a solid runner-up for Song of the Summer.
Sabrina Carpenter’s music has entertained millions and dropped hints at a major celebrity feud.
“Espresso” is a little different. What is the meaning of her lyrics?

Sometimes mispronounced as “Expresso,” espresso is a coffee drink. Roughly speaking, it is to a regular cup of coffee what doing a shot of rum is to a rum-and-coke. That is to say, it’s a small amount of highly concentrated coffee for an intense jolt of caffeine.

Sdcc Sunday features niche panels and workshops with fewer crowds and lines than earlier days. Panels like Something About YA and the Jack Kirby Tribute offer unique experiences and insights. Comic-Con on Sunday includes amazing panels such as the creators of the We Belong anthology, D&d theater, and the X-Men Fandom.
Sunday, the last day of San Diego Comic-Con (Sdcc) every year, is a strange affair yet there are still interesting, must-see panels yet to take place. The panels for the most anticipated movies of 2024 are probably not going to take place on Sunday, when the convention is in the process of wrapping things up. However, some of the more niche Comic-Con panels find their place at this time on the Sunday schedule, and attract those who are especially dedicated to a particular topic.
Some of the best Comic-Con workshops are still happening, while a few major stars make appearances.

Hulu has bought the Dannii Minogue-hosted I Kissed a Boy and follow-up I Kissed a Girl – the UK’s first ever queer dating series.
The reality series, which has drawn plaudits for its open-book approach to queer issues coupled with high drama, has been acquired as part of a package for the streamer’s Hulu Has Pride LGBTQ+ month.
Produced by ITV Studios-backed Twofour, the award-winning I Kissed A Boy aired last year and I Kissed A Girl is currently on BBC Three and iPlayer. The basic concept is that couples are matched up by experts and kiss in the seconds they first meet. They then live in a Love Island-style villa in which they can remain with the couples they are first paired with or seek alternatives, while some are slowly eliminated. Both seasons are hosted by singer and LGBTQ+ ally Minogue. The BBC said that the...

Development continues on a feature film adaptation of the CBS cop TV series "Kojak" starring actor Vin Diesel, who produces with Samantha Vincent for One Race Films:
The original "Kojak" TV series was created by Oscar winner Abby Mann, as a gritty police procedural, focusing on institutionalized prejudice and civil rights of suspects and witnesses, starring actor Telly Savalas ("The Dirty Dozen") as New York City 'Detective Lieutenant Theo Kojak'.
The series aired October 24, 1973 to March 18, 1978.
"...'Lieutenant Theodore ('Theo') Kojak (Savalas) is a dapper, New York City policeman, fond of 'Tootsie Roll Pops' and using the catchphrase, 'Who loves ya, baby?'.
"Stubborn and tenacious in his investigation of crimes, he also displays a dark, cynical wit and a tendency to bend the rules if it brings a criminal to justice..."

In the summer of 1971, a sibling folk duo attended Paul Simon’s songwriting class at NYU and then found themselves singing backup on There Goes Rhymin’ Simon. More than 50 years later — and just after Soccer Mommy cited them as an influence on her recent album — the Roches will revisit those early years on Kin Ya See That Sun, a new archival collection out Oct. 21.
Kin Ya contains unreleased live recordings and outtakes from Terre and her late sister Maggie, who began as a duo before their sister Suzzy joined in the late Seventies.

Mexico’s entry to the International Feature Film Oscar race, Fernando Frias’ I’m No Longer Here (Ya No Estoy Aqui), is an ultra-skillful, if sometimes dramatically undernourished account of an enterprising teenager’s attempt to move beyond a life on the streets.
There’s no question that the young director knows what he’s doing behind the camera, and it’s no surprise Mexican cinema titans Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro have been actively promoting him and the film. It’s been on Netflix since May and world premiered at the Morelia Film Festival several months before that, but we wanted to give a fresh look.
Frias has smarts and style to burn; every shot has been composed with great poise and confidence, and he cranks everything up to get the most out of every moment. He’s a guy who was clearly born to make movies.

“Their best album since Exile on Main St!” an FM DJ gushed in 1974 when the Rolling Stones released It’s Only Rock ’n Roll. Only one other new record had come between them, but the implication was clear: that record, Goats Head Soup, was, well, unappetizing. A Stones album with a strummed love-song ballad ripe for Am radio (“Angie”) and a pretty silly song about the demonic underworld (“Dancing with Mr. D.”)? Goats Head Soup had those and more, and looking back, the album feels historic: The mixed response it...

Pop quiz, hotshot: which long-delayed film do you think will emerge first from the pits of development hell – New Mutants? Or Sony’s big-screen adaptation of Uncharted?
It’s impossible to know, given each production has been delayed multiple times over. For now, it seems as though Nathan Drake has his nose in front, given Sony just recently confirmed an October 2021 launch date for their live-action Uncharted film.
New Mutants, on the other hand, was originally locked in for April 3rd (that’s this Friday), only to be delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Fox reportedly plans to release the film into the wild before the year’s end, but again, the fate of New Mutants is still shrouded in mystery.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said Thursday during the company’s third-quarter earnings call that a sequel to Knives Out is officially a go, hinting that a production start for a follow-up to the money-making and critically acclaimed Rian Johnson whodunit is imminent.

Niall Horan has dropped a brand-new single “Put a Little Love on Me” along with an accompanying music video. The video, shot in Los Angeles with director Cameron Busby, sees Horan performing the emotional track at a grand piano as a red-clad dancer spins around him.
Horan wrote the song with long-time collaborators Jamie Scott and Daniel Bryer, who also produced the single, and Mike Needle, while Greg Kurstin arranged and produced the strings. The track centers on a relationship past, with Horan reflecting on what went wrong and hoping all will be well again.

Showtime has given a pilot greenlight to Yellowjackets, a drama from writers Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos), Entertainment One and studio-based producer Drew Comins. Karyn Kusama (Destroyer) will direct and executive produce the pilot, a co-production of Showtime and Entertainment One. Production begins this fall in Los Angeles.
