Sniper: The Last Stand is the eleventh film in a franchise that began back in 1993 with Sniper and continued on through films like Sniper: Rogue Mission and most recently Sniper: G.R.I.T. – Global Response & Intelligence Team. After so many entries, many franchises are running out of steam and getting by on past glories, will this be any different?

The film opens with a ten-minute sequence where the members of Operation Phoenix track arms dealer Ryker Kovalov to his headquarters in the jungles of Costa Verde only for him to trigger his doomsday weapon.

A while back, we shared a Best Movie You Never Saw video on the action thriller Sniper, which was given a theatrical release in 1993 and spawned a direct-to-video franchise that is continuing to this day. In fact, a trailer for the eleventh film in the franchise, Sniper: The Last Stand, has just arrived online and can be seen in the embed above. The film is set to receive a digital release on January 21st.

Tom Berenger took on the lead role of sniper Thomas Beckett in the original film, and came back for Sniper 2 (2002) and Sniper 3 (2004). As of 2011’s Sniper: Reloaded, Thomas’s son Brandon, played by Chad Michael Collins, became the lead character in the franchise, and his story has continued through Sniper: Legacy (2014), Sniper: Ghost Shooter (2016), Sniper: Ultimate Kill (2017), Sniper: Assassin’s End (2020), Sniper: Rogue Mission (2022), Sniper: G.R.I.T. – Global Response & Intelligence Team (2023), and now Sniper: The Last Stand.

The fourth and final season of “Power Book II: Ghost” debuts on Friday, June 7, at midnight Et on the Starz app, which also coincides with the 10th Anniversary of “Power’s” debut on Starz.

The monsters in Escape The Field were actually humans infected by a serum, losing their humanity entirely. The puzzle in Escape The Field was central to the experiment, revealing traits the researchers were studying in the subjects. Although it offered an interesting premise, the Escape The Field ending created a lot of confusion as many plot points were left open-ended. Similar to the plot in Escape Room and Saw, each individual is forced to participate in a series of challenges and solve several puzzles if they want to escape. Exclusive: Lionsgate has taken North American and UK rights to Emerson Moore’s feature film directorial debut Escape the Field.

The psychological thriller finds six strangers who suddenly awake in a remote, endless cornfield, stripped of their possessions and left with seemingly random items, ranging from an old revolver with a single bullet to an antique lantern. As klaxon sirens blare in the distance and traps appear at every turn, the group realizes they have been plunged into a cat-and-mouse game with an unseen evil, and survival depends upon solving a diabolical — and deadly — puzzle. The pic is scheduled for a multi-platform release this May.

Also written by Moore, Joshua Dobkin and Sean Wathen, the movie stars Shane West (Gotham), Theo Rossi (True Story), Jordan Claire Robbins (The Umbrella Academy), Tahira Sharif (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Julian Feder (The Doorman) and Elena Juatco (Jann).

Also joining the previously announced Eva Noblezada Brandon Wardell and Tia Carrere, are Lydia Gaston, Rodney To, Melody Butiu, Joey Guila and Elena Juatco.

“Starting production on Easter Sunday is the culmination of a lifetime of dreaming and decades of hard work,” said. Crystal Reed and Tahirah Sharif have signed on to star in Dead Giveaway, an indie comedy-thriller that is being directed by Ian Kimble.

The pic, which was written by Kimble, follows Lia (Reed) and Jill (Sharif). Jill is a hard-partying Philadelphian. This has resulted in some epic nights and legendary stories. What she never expected is waking up next to a stranger who has been brutally stabbed to death in her own bed. On this particular Sunday, that is exactly what she wakes up to. She and Lia spend their day trying to solve the mystery of the cadaver in Jill’s bed and still make it to brunch in time for mimosas.

Suzann Toni and Andrew Vogel of Dynasty Pictures will produce the indie, which will film in Philadelphia, Pa.

Luke Cage and Sons Of Anarchy star Rossi recently wrapped shooting Zack Snyder’s big-budget Netflix feature Army Of The Dead. Nikita and Salem star West was most recently seen as Bane on the final season of Fox’s Gotham.

Escape The Field is the story of six strangers who wake up disoriented and trapped in an endless cornfield only to discover that something mysterious is hunting them. Armed only with seemingly random items, ranging from a compass to a canteen and a revolver with a single bullet, they must work together to escape the field or die.

Additional casting deals are closing imminently. Ddi is handling world sales and will introduce the project (and the actors) to buyers at the virtual TIFF market.
