Host Faruq Tauheed takes half-siblings Michelle and Rob to Mexico City where they discover that they are related to the Uruchurtus, a very famous Mexican political family. Their journey includes a trip to the ornate National Palace where they learn that their second cousin Ernesto gave the keys to Mexico City to President John F. Kennedy. During the preparation for the annual cultural event The Day of the Dead, they learn their third cousin Manual Uruchurtu died on the Titanic, after giving up his seat on a lifeboat to a woman in need.

There they learn that Evan's great-grandfather was an integral part of the U.S. western states expansion of 1862 and had cultivated 160-acre farm. But closer to Evan's heart, he learns that two of his uncles, who he had met when he was a child, were POWs in WWII both receiving purple hearts. After they deeply connect, the two dance at a western hall.

Host Faruq Tauheed takes Mom and Son duo Sharee and Davone to a trip to Nashville Tennessee, where they learn that their 4xs great grandfather Larkin Ford, was a part of an 1840s landmark Tennessee case. Larkin was awarded the farm that he worked on as a slave. After winning the property Larkin went on to be a delegate in the Republican Party and helped elect African-American officials into Tennessee government.

Host Faruq Tauheed takes father and daughter Paul and Kalina to the Civil War battleground Port Republic, Virginia, where they discover Paul's great grandfather Austin D. Springer was a drummer boy for the Union Army. At the battlefield, Paul and Kalina learn that Austin was taken prisoner by the Confederate Army but escaped and hid in slave huts until he made his way back to the Union Army. Paul, a Vietnam veteran, connects his own experience and believes that being a combat Vet is in his genes.
