He may be a blockhead, but Charlie Brown is right: We did make a mess of the place…what do we do now? In Apple TV+’s delightful new Peanuts series, Camp Snoopy, the gang is getting back to nature—and giving it some love—with a warm-weather adventure that only America’s best beagle ever could coordinate. And over the course of 13 rollicking, heartwarming and patently hilarious episodes, the whole bunch of ’em enjoy a summer of canoeing, campfires and camaraderie. There’s even a day of self-care and a new friendship for Sally. Inspired by several episodes of The Snoopy Show‘s third season (also available on Apple TV+) and the 50th anniversary of the Beagle Scouts May 14, 1974 introduction to the Peanuts comics, the 2-D treat—which features some of the most gorgeously rendered backgrounds—is yet another great addition to the growing collection of Peanuts content on the streamer.

Netflix is developing an animated series based on the wildly popular sandbox video game “Minecraft.” The streamer will produce the project alongside Mojang Studios, the Swedish developer of the game.
Plot details are not yet known, but according to Netflix, the series “will feature an original story with new characters, showing the world of ‘Minecraft’ in a new light.”
The series, which will be CG-animated, is in development with WildBrain, the Canadian studio behind animated Netflix projects including “Sonic Prime,” “Ninjago: Dragons Rising” and “Carmen Sandiego.” In 2022, Netflix debuted a revival of WildBrain’s “Johnny Test,” which originally ran on the WB and later on Cartoon Network for six seasons from 2005 to 2014. The studio has also produced “The Snoopy Show” and “Snoopy in Space” on Apple TV+ and “Fireman Sam” on the UK’s Channel 5.

When Guillermo del Toro accepted the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature ("Pinocchio") in 2022, he proclaimed during his speech, "Animation is cinema. Animation is not a genre. Animation is ready to be taken to the next step, we are all ready for it." Well, 2023 certainly heard him, because this year we were gifted an embarrassment of riches — all using the animated medium to push the limits of storytelling and visual artistry. At the same time, animated projects are constantly under attack by powerful millionaires in positions of power who can't or refuse to see the value in animation and instead still operate under the false assumption that it's nothing more than "kid's stuff." And even still, there was plenty of incredible animation this year specifically targeting young audiences, like the "Craig of the Creek" prequel film "Craig Before the Creek," Apple TV+'s "The Snoopy Show," and of course, the undisputed children's champion,...

There are three types of people in the world: "Garfield" people, "Calvin and Hobbes" people, and "Peanuts" people. As a practicing worshipper of The Great Pumpkin and the human result of what happens when Lucy van Pelt and Peppermint Patty go through the Brundlefly machine, I am firmly in the latter camp. There's no such thing as a bad "Peanuts" movie, in my opinion, only films that are special to a smaller number of fans.
The characters created by Charles M. Schulz have been entertaining generations for over 75 years, and there's no sign of stopping. Apple won the rights to much of the "Peanuts" library in the streaming wars, releasing the hybrid "Peanuts" special/Schulz documentary "Who Are You, Charlie Brown?" as well as two series, "Snoopy in Space" and "The Snoopy Show." Now, Apple TV+ is developing its first "Peanuts" original feature, bringing Charlie Brown and the gang to the Big City.

Looking to build out on its impressive film slate on a piece of IP they are all too familiar with, Apple said it is developing a new, untitled Peanuts feature film from WildBrain and Peanuts Worldwide.
Slated to begin production in 2024 from WildBrain Studios, the new family film will see the Peanuts gang go on an epic adventure to the Big City, learning the true meaning of friendship while meeting some surprising new friends along the way.
The screenplay is co-written by Karey Kirkpatrick from an original story by co-writers Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano, who wrote the 2015 feature film The Peanuts Move. That film’s director Steve Martino will helm the new pic, which will be produced by two-time Oscar nominee Bonnie Arnold.

Craig Schulz, the son of “Peanuts” creator Charles M. Schulz, is hopeful a new movie based on the comic strip will happen.
In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Craig discussed the possibility of another “Peanuts” film.

Sometimes, the people who make the biggest difference aren’t the ones who grab the spotlight. In “Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie,” we get to see firsthand how our lovable introvert, Marcie, makes a monumental difference from behind the scenes for both her friends and her community. To train for the school golf championship, Marcie assists Peppermint Patty as her caddie, offering thoughtful and deliberate advice to help her win. Meanwhile, after coming up with brilliant solutions to her classmates’ problems – from hallway traffic jams to lunchtime pizza shortages – Marcie is unexpectedly elected as class president … a role she never wanted.
Suddenly thrust into the spotlight, Marcie struggles to cope with the expectations of her new job and retreats as far from the public eye as possible. As the golf championship begins, Marcie is still in hiding and Peppermint Patty is forced to tee off with Charlie Brown filling in as her caddie.

Peppermint Patty’s Bff Marcie will be front and center in the new Apple TV+ Peanuts special, Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie. Shy and intelligent, Marcie first appeared in Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts comic strip on July 20, 1971. The upcoming Snoopy Presents production, which just released a trailer and poster, marks the first time the character’s been the focus of an animated special.
The official Peanuts website offers this quote about Marcie from creator Charles M. Schultz: “Marcie is one-up on Peppermint Patty in every way. She sees the truth of things, where it invariably escapes Patty. I like Marcie.”
Emmy Award winner Raymond S. Persi directs the family-friendly special from a screenplay by Betsy Walters. Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, Cornelius Uliano, Paige Braddock, Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, and Logan McPherson executive produce.

You’re a good man, Charlie Brown! But you’re maybe not the best at baseball, coach. Then again, we have known this fact ever since Chuck first played the game in a March 1951 comic strip. Seventy-plus years later, the round-headed icon keeps swinging for the fences, so you gotta give him props. In the above exclusive sneak peek from The Snoopy Show‘s upcoming third season on Apple TV+, Charlie even tries to improve the Peanuts gang’s base-running skills and finds himself faced with a regrettable tale of the tape. However, we do appreciate the fancy footwork by former Flashbeagle Snoopy and Lucy, who has way more finesse on the field than she does holding a football. In 1964 author Louise Fitzhugh introduced readers to an 11-year-old wannabe spy named Harriet M. Welch. Despite the success of the books, pop culture certainly took its time monetizing Fitzhugh’s character, with Nickelodeon only bringing Harriet to the big screen in 1996 with a more up-to-date sensibility. Now, Apple TV+ has returned to Fitzhugh’s character, and her illustrated aesthetic with their new animated series, “Harriet the Spy.”
With just five episodes in its debut season, and another five set to come out next spring, writer Will McRobb’s series isn’t so much a standard television adaptation of Fitzhugh’s novel as it is individual standalone stories. The look and feel is similar to other animated Apple fare, particularly Apple TV+’s “The Snoopy Show.” Harriet (voiced by Beanie Feldstein) lives in an indeterminate time — where cell phones don’t exist and pay phones are still a thing — with her mother,...

The union between Apple TV+ and the Peanuts has been a successful one, so far. Their animated series “Snoopy in Space” was nominated for a Daytime Emmy, and they’re looking to dive into the world of new animated holiday specials that might just give “A Charlie Brown Christmas” a run for its money. One of the new installments is “The Snoopy Show,” a series aimed at giving audiences more of the beloved beagle and his larger-than-life adventures.

And I think that’s a stronger thing to fight for. I think kids really recognize this stuff and hopefully they’ll latch onto that.” The team behind the show sought a way to reintroduce Charlie Brown — who first debuted in the late cartoonist Charles M.
