I missed Dexter so much and was so excited to hear that it was getting revived for this series. Dexter is easily one of my favorite shows of all-time and one of the few shows I can watch all the way through several times over without getting bored. Dexter: New Blood is actually a pretty good show right up until the ending. The ending to the original was pretty bad but this ending is actually worse. I'm not one of those people who thinks a bad ending ruins the whole series for me, as long as the series was good overall then I don't downgrade the entire series because of one bad show. But if there's any exception to that it's this show. The ending really is that bad. I'd still recommend this to any Dexter fans just to see Michael C. Hall back as Dexter. That's worth watching alone and again, the show itself is pretty good. Just be prepared to be disappointed at the ending.

Watched this recently after going through the original 8 seasons and was pleasantly surprised. Expected a disney-fied experience, but was as dark and as funny as the original seasons. Although a lot of people appear to have really dislikes the ending, I actually loved it.
The cast were all excellent, even the younger actors (and let's be honest, 99.7% of kids in shows are either very annoying or very very annoying😁); the twists as the story unfolded were all pretty good if a little predictable; and the setting, in the snow really made it stand out from the Miami based original.
If you liked the originals, this is more of the same, with snow and a proper ending.

Dexter: New Blood quickly felt like Dexter again. I was enjoying it more and more until the last 10-15 minutes of the final episode. I can't believe they did it again. They freaking did it again... Once more they ruined it with the ending.
It's a damn shame, because this had so much potential.

The original Dexter was absolutely, without a doubt, one of the best shows ever created! It's a thrilling, one of a kind TV show that will keep you at the edge of your seat throughout the entire series. Michael C. Hall is perfect as Dexter and the rest of the supporting cast is just as fantastic! Yes, the ending was terrible but like Game of Thrones, Lost (or any other show with a bad final episode), a few bad episodes at the end doesn't spoil what an overall great show it was and that's what Dexter is...a GREAT show! The ending was so bad they brought back Dexter: New Blood to give it a better ending. Problem is the ending to this was even worse. I've loved having Dexter back on my tv and the show was really good overall, they just blew the ending for a second time. It's still definitely worth watching!
Why? Why? Was this show ended please bring back Dexter that new blood was awesome please Dexter needs more new blood! I don't like many shows but horror and blood and guts and all of it was awesome! Please keep Dexter coming back like the many many other horror characters in history of horror genre ! In new blood he was training the son and I think even bringing him out as a show would be great I never had showtime and I only just was put on I had tried to watch it years ago but was hooked on hbo shows ! I would love to see Dexter again or more the way the new blood ended it is possible it's just the actors needs to want it.

A heartwarming father-son story, Dexter: New Blood provides an outstanding conclusion to the original series.
Just south of Bear Pond, former murderous vigilante Dexter Morgan (aka Jim Lindsay) is living his best life as a friendly store clerk in a small town near Seneca named Iron Lake, NY. But, Iron Lake isn't so small when the Dark Passenger and Dexter's son Harrison make a pitstop in town for the holidays.
Despite being born in his mother's blood and killing his father Harry thanks to "The Code" Harry taught him, Dexter deserves the chance to be loved by his own son and seek redemption. After all, all sons need their father.
The transition from Jim Lindsay into World's Greatest Dad Dexter Morgan is brilliantly illustrated by Sister Deb Deb replacing Harry as the voice in Dexter's head. Providing a look inside the world and mind of the world's greatest psychopath, Dexter & Son: The Redemption of Dexter Morgan is truly a thrilling and fascinating journey.
Will Dexter become crazier than ever with the Dark Passenger back at the wheel or will he learn from the sins of his father? The viewer is taken on an odyssey to answer this question as each episode is more captivating than the last. And, the destination is one of the greatest series finales in television history. Seriously, it's a bloody perfect ending.
Much like another famous vigilante, Dexter will either die a villain or live long enough to see himself become the hero. 9/10.

I've read a bunch of the negative review, and let me start by saying: I'm not sure what more they want?
This is Dexter as it used to be. Its quirky, dark and not very realistic. But you could apply that to the entire series, and if you do - Dexter isn't for you. But if you loved Dexter, you're going to love this just as much, is is everything we ever wanted - cant wait to see more!

I really enjoyed the first two episodes. I liked how Dexter's missing inner dialogue, that is very essential to the character, provides the necessary insights into how he has managed to suppress his dark passenger for so many years. Dexter was always good at creating a fake persona that to other people appeared like a "regular" person, so it makes perfect sense that he has managed to blend in so easily. I have read several reviews saying that they hate Debra being Dexter's new guide and that every scene with her is uncomfortable, to me that's kinda the point. She symbolizes everything bad that has happened because of Dexter's darkness. "Harry" as a guide functioned as a reminder of the rules he was taught, he got Dexter to only kill bad people, but that's not the role "Debra" is intended to fill. You are supposed to find her presence unbearable because that's how Dexter feels too.
Overall I think it will be a great season, the writing is good and the actors, especially Michael C. Hall, are excellent.
