A new Spider-Verse variant of Doctor Strange is an instantly iconic Sorcerer Supreme. In a variant cover for May’s Doctor Strange #3, a mashup of Doctor Strange and Spider-Man emerges from the Spider-Verse, primed and ready for mystical combat. The covers are part of a line-wide variant cover initiative celebrating the forthcoming release of Across the Spider-Verse in June, and will feature a number of Spider-Verse variants of some of Marvel’s most popular characters.
The cover, drawn by Mahmud Asrar, shows the Spider-Man/Doctor Strange mashup sitting cross-legged and hanging upside-down with his webs. “Dancing with the Stars” fans aren’t the only ones who don’t think Tyra Banks is best fit to host the show. During an appearance on Wednesday’s David Yontef‘s “Behind the Velvet Rope” podcast (watch below), former “Dancing” winner and host Brooke Burke was asked about her thoughts on the current “Dancing” host — and she did not hold back.
“She’s a diva. Everybody knows she’s a diva. There’s nothing wrong with that. I’m not saying anything bad about her — be a diva,” Burke said. “[But] it’s not the place to be a diva. Your pros are the diva, your winner, your perfect 10 score dancer who’s never done it — that defines ‘diva’ in the ballroom. So I just think it wasn’t embraced.”

Taylordle is about to be the new buzzword of 2022. In response to the viral success of Wordle, created by software engineer Josh Wardle, Swifties have taken the word game and created six rows of blank spaces to be filled with everything from lyrics to the names of Swift's ex-lovers. The "Holy Swift" podcast launched Taylordle, aka Wordle (Taylor's Version), on Jan. 28, replacing regular dictionary words with terms straight out of the "Swiftie universe." "Swift," "Style," "Lover," "Exile," "Alwyn," the possibilities are as endless as our pre-emptive love for "Karma," the unreleased album we've all been waiting for.

Deadly flooding did not divert this year’s Pingyao International Film Festival from running its full course, with the event drawing to a close Monday with an award ceremony honoring Egyptian director Omar El Zohairy, India’s Natesh Hegde, and China’s Kong Dashan and Wei Shujun with top prizes.
Many anticipated that this fifth edition of the festival would be different, given the shifting role of its co-founder and leading light, director Jia Zhangke. He unexpectedly stepped down last year, only to recant and come back in the nebulous role of “chief experience officer” months ago.
Instead, this year’s iteration has been more memorable for the backdrop of historically heavy rains that have left at least 15 dead, more than 120,000 relocated, and an estimated 1.8 million people affected in the inland Shanxi province.

Dilip Kumar, one of the biggest stars of Indian cinema, died in Mumbai on Wednesday after being hospitalized for breathlessness. He was 98.
The star had been ailing for several months and was in and out of hospital prior to his death.
Born Mohammed Yusuf Khan in Peshawar, British India, in 1922, Kumar debuted in films with “Jwar Bhata” (1944). Though he was known as the ‘tragedy king’ for his roles in sombre films like “Daag” (1952) and “Devdas” (1955), Kumar displayed range throughout his career including comedies “Azaad” (1955), “Kohinoor” (1960) and “Ram Aur Shyam” (1967), swashbuckler “Aan” (1952), historical “Mughal-e-Azam” (1960) and bandit drama “Gunga Jamuna” (1961).
After the indifferently received “Bairaag” (1976), where he played three roles, Kumar took a break from acting and returned with playing older characters in films like “Kranti” (1981), “Shakti” (1982), where he played alongside fellow Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in a casting billed as the clash of the titans, “Mashaal” (1984), “Karma” (1986) and “Saudagar” (1991).

Actor Manoj Chandila is an avid reader and is often seen catching up on his reading between shots on the sets. "I initially began reading fiction, Chetan Bhagat's work in particular. Soon, after reading most of his titles, I began reading Khaled Hosseini and became a big fan of his work, The Kite Runner especially. While it was a tad bit serious, it was definitely a book I couldn't put down," he says.
Manoj says that reading helps him stay calm and is of great help especially in today's times.
"There is a term called mental diet where one must be mindful as to what they watch or imbibe into their lives. To do so, one must always be out there seeking knowledge, be it in form of listening, watching or even reading. I believe that one should always utilise the extra time in hand to know or learn something new.

Jackie Shroff has been in Bollywood for almost four decades and is universally loved as a star and a human being. The actor says he does not have the fear of losing stardom because he feels that God surely seems to have a plan for him.
Jackie Shroff was touted as Bollywood's new big thing when he made a blockbuster debut as lead actor in Subhash Ghai's 1983 film "Hero". Through the decades, his notable films have included "Ram Lakhan", "Yudh", "Karma", "Parinda", "Tridev", "Kala Bazaar", "Vardi", "Doodh Ka Karz", "100 Days", "Angaar", "Khalnayak", "Rangeela", "Agnisakshi", "Bandhan", and the recent "Radhe".
It has been a journey where Jackie, 64, has taken the rough with the smooth. Has the thought of losing stardom ever scared him?
"Nothing. No fear. If god has got you here he has made a position and will take you somewhere. If the almighty has got you from...

Last April, Aaron Lee Tasjan was one of the artists who was invited to perform as part of Willie Nelson’s virtual “Come and Toke It” livestream, a 4-hour-20-minute musical celebration infused with a healthy amount of Thc. As part of the appearance, the East Nashville singer-songwriter got to meet and chat with his hero Nelson and then play a few songs. The trailer of Ak vs Ak is out now, and while the audience is loving the style of Anil Kapoor, his co-star Anurag Kashyap, a popular director, is getting lauded for his acting skills too.

While everyone is house-bound this hot summer, time to check out what’s streaming. One service to sign up for is HBO Max.
HBO Max will eventually feature a library of more than 2,000 films within the first year, but one of the movies streaming now is the superb Doctor Sleep. In ca se you missed it in cinemas last year, then you can catch it as well as the director’s cut. Clocking in at 3 hours, this sequel to Stephen King’s “The Shining,” is about the troubled, now-adult Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor) who meets a teen who shares his extrasensory gift of the “shine” and tries to protect her from a cult whose members feed off the shine of innocents to become immortal.
The movie is directed by Mike Flanagan along with a fantastic score by The Newton Brothers.

The goal of any new streaming service worth its salt is consolidation. We’ve got a lot of major entertainment conglomerates now and each one of them needs a streaming home to consolidate its content on. With that in mind, WarnerMedia’s HBO Max is undoubtedly the biggest streaming release since Disney+ last year.
When AT&T acquired Time Warner and all its holdings in 2016, the newly-branded WarnerMedia subsidiary needed a place to house thousands of Warner movies, and other series, films, and documentaries from Warner-branded studios like CNN, TNT, TBS, The CW, Adult Swim, and much more. Enter HBO Max. Though HBO Max is named after Warner’s original premier streaming and cable entity in HBO, this is much more than just an “upgraded” version of HBO. HBO Max is the juggernaut WarnerMedia streaming service AT&T promised.

HBO Max has unveiled the premiere dates for its “second wave” of original programming.
Some of the standouts that have been dated include the four “Adventure Time” specials, which will be available from June 25, the Seth Rogen comedy feature “American Pickle,” coming August 6, and the Amy Schumer docuseries “Expecting Amy,” which the streaming service will birth July 9.
The WarnerMedia streamer is launching May 27 with a substantial library of content, and a few originals, headlined by the Anna Kendrick comedy “Love Life.” HBO Max’s jewel in the crown upon launch was supposed to be the “Friends” reunion special, however, the coronavirus production shutdown put paid to hopes that it would be ready on time. WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer chairman Bob Greenblatt recently told Variety that special will potentially be completed by the end of summer.

Netflix’s unscripted guilty pleasure “Love Is Blind” has quickly turned into a pop culture phenomenon, and the streamer is aiming to capitalize on that with a reunion special featuring the show’s cast.
Here’s the twist: The “Love Is Blind” reunion special will premiere March 5 — on Netflix’s YouTube channel. That will presumably expose the relationship reality show to even more potential viewers who might not have caught it yet on Netflix.
Although details on the special are slim, it appears that the Atlanta-based cast of 20 participants will be a part of the reunion special, along with hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey. The reunion was taped last week, and is expected to clock in at about an hour.
Per Netflix, the special will answer burning questions such as which couples are still together; whether any castmembers have any regrets; what it was like to watch the show unfold...

One of the most entertaining moments in Eminem’s interview with Variety about his surprise appearance at the 92nd Academy Awards was his comment after being asked whether he enjoyed his performance, which came some 17 years after his “Lose Yourself” won an Oscar: “Absolutely,” he replied, “I got to hug Salma Hayek!”
Today, Hayek herself gave some comic context to that moment in an Instagram post. “In these pictures it might look like @Eminem and I are best friends,” she wrote. “But what really happened is as he was walking offstage and I was getting ready to walk onstage, I was so shocked to see him that I spilled water all over him.

Rick Moranis will make his long-awaited return to acting with a role in the upcoming reboot of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, with Moranis returning to the Disney franchise — and the big screen in general — for the first time since 1997.
Titled Shrunk, the reboot will star Josh Gad as the son of Moranis’ inventor Wayne Szalinski, with Variety confirming that Moranis has signed on to reprise his role in some capacity in the upcoming film. Joe Johnston, the director of 1989’s Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, will helm the reboot.

In our new series, we look at eight cities where live music has exploded — from legendary hubs like Chicago and Nashville, to rising hot spots like Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Portland, Maine. The latest falls into the second category: the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill “Triangle,” where college radio isn’t dead and collaboration is encouraged between artists, creating a sound you can’t find anywhere else.
Just a few months after they moved to Durham in 2013, Nick Sanborn and Amelia Meath of the electro-pop duo Sylvan Esso played their first-ever proper local show,...

Queen + Adam Lambert have been gigging steadily over the past year with a setlist that rarely varies from night to night. But on Monday at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, New Zealand, they broke out Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” midway through the show.
On past Queen and Lambert tours, the group has performed a handful of Lambert solo tunes, but this take on “Whole Lotta Love” is the only non-Queen song they’ve tackled this time out. They previously played it just once, February 17th, 2015 at the O2 Arena in Prague.
