Following the series, a prequel novel Moonseed: The Origin of Louis Pine's Lycanthropy was released. The book confirms that Louis' mom Loretta is a witch, explains how she met Louis' dad, and how Louis' dad became a werewolf. A sequel was released where Seth confirms Louis' whereabouts with help from Frank, Loretta, and Mauricio. In the process, Sydney turns Louis into a werewolf-vampire hybrid and Mauricio becomes a stinkwolf.
