To be honest: I just get it to the end of the first episode. The filming is well done but there is a lack of authenticity, the dialogs are not very interesting and the characters are a little bit too exaggerated. The storyline is although not really interesting.
Propably a must see for fans, but right now not for a guy who didn't know Julian.
But it's just a beginning. There is much space for becoming better and I think there is potential. Julian seems to be a german influencer with a lot of followers in real life. And in germany there is are no big high quality film industrie where you can profit from. I believe he and his team will become better, because they know the path with all the struggles. Projects like this are perfect to become better and better.

A series as long as a movie. Not very exciting and the humor doesn't work at all in the first episode. It got better towards the end, but still a very boring series. I don't know if a second season is planned, if so, I'm not looking forward to it. And the end: I don't know if it should be an open ending, either way it doesn't work.

First of all: The poduction (sets, camera, director etc.) are very good in my opinion. Really nice to watch and with a lot of quality (as you already have known from the teams YouTube activities).
But the story and the acting, which is totally fine for Youtube short films, ist not enough for a real netflix series. And I have to rate this as a series.
So overall: Production good; acting and story not really good --> Definition of a 'meh' series.

First of all, it doesn't make sense to call this a series when there are only 4 episodes. If anything, this should have at least been a movie.
Second, you're not missing anything with this series.
It's a major misconception that if you are a successful internet star, you would have the experience and talent to direct a television series and act at a level that it would be released by one of the biggest streaming services.
Third, the entire show is predictable, not funny, largely cringe, and poorly written. Also, it feels like several YouTube videos were randomly strung together, so the target audience is the same people who watch the clips of influencer Julien Bam, who just wanted to give space to all his ideas with this poor attempt to establish himself in the big, wide world of television. But that doesn't work at all when every, really every cliché is fulfilled.

Horrible writing and even worse acting. The characters are all very linear and there is no real character development until the very end, where you get the obvious twist you get in every outer body experience movie. The jokes are very on the nose. The trailer seemed interesting. The story is pretty much based on the music video Freaky Friday with Chris Brown and Lil Dicky. The famous guy wakes up in the mit so famous guys body. It's sad that the 3 minutes music video told more and was more entertaining than a 4 episodes series.
Yes, this is just a German youtuber who made a Netflix show. Yes, this is similar to his youtube style. But Julien Bam is not just any youtuber, he is not like any of the cliche influencers out there, his work are qualitatively always insane.
In that regard, I don't quite get the imdb rating. Sure, this is not the best show you will ever see but it is certainly enjoyable.
Story-wise Julien's crew did not reinvent the wheel. Some kind of inter-dimensional disturbance shenanigans makes Julien and Joon travel through dimensions and swap bodies with their other selves. They are confronted with a different reality and face hardships while trying to get back to their original lives. In the meantime, weird things happen, from the gangster rappers to a new sister to LARP players to your obligatory quantum physics professor.
Yeah, yeah, you're right: the plot isn't out of the ordinary. But that isn't what this show is about. It's rather about the little ideas surrounding the show and the humor. Especially if you grew up with Ju and Joon's videos, many jokes will feel very nostalgic to you. And man, that German gangster language just keeps cracking me up. Wallah! Amenakoi!

This series has no depth at all. The characters are written very flat, their acting makes them even flatter. Is comedy really so hard for Germans? The jokes mostly miss. Most attempts at being funny just ended up being cringe worthy.

I have watched weeks worth of short movies and I have never been less entertained in my life. This production truly had nothing good about it. The acting, cast, script, plot and music was horrible and unbecoming. I actually root for every German streamer production, but Life's A Glitch with Julien Bam actually threw us back. Please Netflix Germany, start making better decisions.

For me it was really entertaining. I had so many good laughs and it is produced to perfection, especially considering the circumstances. Its not easy to put this one into an existing genre-box and that's what makes it so special.
I'm not a millennial. So I didn't know who youtuber Julien Bam was when I started watching "Life's A Glitch". But if anything features parallel universes, count me in.
I was really surprised how funny this was. The level of detail and the sheer number of funny conversations and jokes is pretty amazing. It also has some good messages.
Since Julien Bam is basically his real internet persona, acting is not important, though he and his youtube friend Joon Kim deliver some really enjoyable performances. Madieu Ulbrich stands out as "Diego". He is just hilarious, though his German gangsta slang may get lost in translation when you're not a native speaker.
The series has massive "Back to the Future" vibes, but with parallel universes, and Doc Brown is a woman.
However, it's extremely creative on its own terms, very quirky, and it doesn't take itself too seriously.
It seems Netflix Germany has a much better hand when it comes to choosing projects.
If you're American, you may like it too, or even more than Germans.
Watch this if you love "Back to Future", "Role Models", and any nerdy SciFi stuff, and if you want to make sure Netflix produces good German stuff in the future.
The series is kind of concluded, but there is much room for a funny outcome if there is a second season.
EDIT: Because I was the first to review this, and now see how much hate this gets, I can tell everyone: 1 star reviews are bogus and written by jealous narcissists, especially if their review history is basically non existent. If you don't like the humor, it does not mean something deserves only 1 star.
To the guy who wrote the 1 star review: The series is not xenophobic. That is ridiculous because the makers have a migration background.
If anything, it's making fun of certain types of German people.
